OK, OK - I get your point. However, I do believe the song could be
toned down. I mean, slow it way down and take some of the
twangier guitar tracks out, then add maybe a few violins in the
background and backup singers. It's a stretch, but it may just be
possible. And, yes, I know - it's just not the same. Hey, at least I
left the melody, didn't I? LOL
The one who sang "You Light up my Life" was Debbie Boone.
And I agree with you about the other songs. I think Russell could
do any Anne Murray song, just as people told me she did one of
his! Bette Middler is a whole different story. Yes, he could
probably do her songs. She's amazingly crazy though. I just don't
know if Russell would want to do "Has anyone told you you're my
hero . . ." unless around the piano at a party or something. You
didn't even mention "More than a Feeling" by Boston. Oh,
nevermind, I know what you'll say already.
