Well Mike has already run through the best bits of the adventures of
last night so I won't repeat. The Ben Keith encounter was a gem. You
had to pinch yourself. There we were propping up the upstairs bar at
Tootsies and a bona fide legend comes in and knicks back three shots
before going on stage to play with Neil Young. Wow.

Today's adventure is going to centre around identifying, acquiring
and terminating the 105 Rock Hummer. Okay, sorry, bit carried away -
we just have to locate it. They're giving away tickets from the
Hummer today but they aren't revealing where it is until the Proud
Mary show at lunchtime.

Now, I love Rock 105 for what they've done for us (though the
inclusion of what they call a Chicktionary on the website makes me
wonder). I've even made a new friend - the 6ft lineman-sized station
gofer/security/raffle drawer keeps hugging me and telling me he's
putting my picture on the station website (not in the chicktionary
sadly) and he gave me a Tenessee Titans beer cooling jacket thingy
to keep a bottle of beer cold as a present. However the idea of
sitting in a car with fellow Rusties and having to sit through a
classic rock station's rotation for two hours doesn't really fill me
with joy. I'm worried that some Aerosmith track will creep into my
head and bully poor little Only a Dream out of there. I can't let
that happen. So Rust Force One have a plan that is more ingenious
than a very ingenious thing. We are going to go early to the station
and follow the Hummer from there.

Commander Karen's mission is logistics and supply chain management
(she's getting a map and buying the coffee). Wing Commander Cordova
is obviously flying Rental One to the target. I, poor old corporal
JD, will be responsible for verbal engagement with the target once
acquired (Shock and bore, shock and bore!). And Field Marshal Sara
is in charge of target acquisition (because she knows a Hummer from
an F150). What can possibly go wrong?

JD
