better than the electric version.
I have to admit that I like the acoustic and electric versions equally. I get a
kick out of listening to both of them.
>>Who was the woman singing with them?
The woman singing background vocals with them was none other than Margo Timmins
of the Cowboy Junkies. Randy Bachman related the story of how this came to be on
his Vinyl Tap radio show which aired on CBC Radio One on Neil's 60th birthday
(Nov. 12, 2005).
If I recall correctly, Randy Bachman said that he was playing "Prairie Town"
over the phone to Margo's husband. I guess he had a speakerphone or something
because she heard it while she was in the kitchen and started singing along in
the background. Randy thought she sounded great and thought she's enhance the
acoustic recording of the song. (If another list member remembers details a bit
differently, please jump in and correct my info.)
