Real Live Heyman!

I had the pleasure of visiting with Richard and
Nancy during a recent vacation which included a day in
NYC. The Heymans were gracious hosts, and Richard was
kind enough to play mixes of several tunes he's
putting on the new CD, "Basic Glee". The new music is
fantastic! It's hard to believe that classic RXH sound could
be any better than it already is, and yet the new
tunes I heard are immediately among my all-time faves.
Those of you who live in or near Manhattan may have
heard a few of the new songs in performance, but this
was my first chance to experience them. We heard
seven or so tunes, plus a few "Cornerstone" outtakes
which may show up on disc one of these days. I won't
even try to describe what we heard, since I couldn't
possibly do justice to the musicianship. Suffice it to say
- the new CD will be well worth the (interminable)
wait. RX expressed great satisfaction with the new
songs, and since he's reputed to be his own harshest
critic, that's a very good sign (IMHO).
