Just wanted to let everyone know how well the house concert went here
in Greenville - it was a blast! Richard and Nancy pulled into the
driveway about 90 mins. before "showtime". A quick dinner, a little
furniture re-arranging, some equipment set-up, and then they were
upstairs to change into their rock 'n' roll duds. The first set
started around 7:20. Richard and Nancy were both in great voice, even
tho' RX was fighting an allergy attack. Nancy's bass playing and
harmonies were impeccable. RX moved gracefully between electric and
acoustic guitars and electric piano. They played tunes from just
about all his recorded output, a few covers, told a few anecdotes,
read from "Boom Harangue", and were just about perfect. After a short
break, they launched into a second set, wrapping up at 10 P.M. 2-1/2
hours of Heyman-mania! This was one good thing that I don't think it
was possible to have too much of. I wish they could have played all
night long.
We had a turn-out of about 45 here, so the house was full. Everyone
seemed to really enjoy the music - in fact, the Heymans had only
finished one song when people started asking about buying CDs!
I'd love to read about the other house concerts. Hope to see some
more postings over the next couple of weeks. For anyone who'd still
like to make arrangements to host, I'd suggest getting in touch
w/Nancy ASAP - nxheyman@....
