I will be producing a compilation album focused on experimental,
avant-garde, electronic noise musick in the Philippines. There is no
theme or any unifying idea for this album; just sample works from our
underappreciated, underpaid, underground musical innovators that have
been in the underground scene for far too long. This work aims to
reunite existing (or non-existing) works of these musicians for two
main reasons:
1) too promote experimental and other extreme musics to the rest of
the world; and
2) too get these works published.

The 19th transmediale festival again explores how art and society are
changing under the influence of media and technologies which become
more and more dominant in our everyday lives. In contemporary art,
digital media like video and electronic networks are now so
wide-spread that a strict definition of what constitutes `media art'
seems no longer possible. We have therefore decided to alter the
subtitle of the festival: transmediale is no longer called
`international media art festival', but `festival for art and digital
culture'. This name is supposed to demonstrate the step away from
the niche of `media art', yet still points to the field of tension
between culture and digital technologies, which continues to form the
main driving force of the festival.

Transmediale is a platform for artistic presentation and critical
reflection on the role of digital technologies in present-day society.
The annual festival provides a forum for communication between
artists, those working in the media and a wide range of experts,
offering a stimulating environment for the presentation of major new
projects from digital culture.
Core areas of the festival are the annual conference on the respective
festival topic, a biannual thematic exhibition, the open award
competition as well as the associated club transmediale CTM, focusing
on electronic music and related visual art.

One truly alternative art space First posted 07:48am (Mla time) Dec 19, 2005 By Constantino Tejero Inquirer Editor's Note: Published on page C4 of the December 19, 2005 issue of the Philippine Daily Inquirer THIS IS GOING TO sound like a mantra, but another proof positive that art is booming in this country is the case of that little art gallery called Blueroom at 1354-A Lacuña St., Bangkal, Makati City. The place is at a crossroad, surrounded by thrift stores, junkyards, machine shops, vehicular traffic. The existence of this gallery in that depressed area of Makati City is an anomaly enough, but the fact that it has been carrying world-class art and has survived its first year should be cause for wonder. For its first anniversary this month, Blueroom is offering a plenitude of artworks of various mediums in an exhibit called "Nov'blue 2." Here are gathered 25 artists, with Print this story Send this story Write the editor Reprint this article View other stories some represented by as many as four artworks. Several are noted personages on the art scene, and a few may already be considered masters of their craft. Consider the lineup: Pandy Aviado, Ferdinand Doctolero, Red Mansueto, Alan Rivera, Ronaldo Ruiz, Lirio Salvador, Jevijoe Vitug. Others are upcoming but already notable: Joey Cobcobo, Rommer Fajardo, Lynyrd Arwyn Paras, Sam Penaso, Ryan Rubio. As can be expected from such assembly, the place fairly bursts into a chaos of colors and forms. Here are mostly paintings, but scattered hereabouts are some sculptural pieces, reliefs, combine paintings, assemblages. The paintings range from figurative to abstract, from muted monochromes to a blaze of warm tones, from washes to impasto, from the conventional oil and acrylic to the nontraditional mixed media. The gallery itself has an unconventional layout. It is a split room composed of seven angular walls, looking somewhat weird. The walls are relatively narrow, so there's no way for the artworks but to jostle one another off the walls. (Talk of an alternative art space.) Meanwhile, the pieces by Aviado, Rivera, Mansueto and Doctolero are on the corners. Ruiz's painted reliefs are on the floor. Ignacio's sculptured piano finds itself outside the door. These latter artworks, by the way, do not have to be announced. They just announce themselves. You may throw them to a dim corner and they'd glitter, people would still notice. Ignacio's sculptural piece "Wild Piano," for instance, is actually a recycled piano, still playable but now covered with unpolished hardwood and embellished with rococo carvings and tumescent protrusions. No one would have missed that strange-looking detailing. This exhibit is such a happy mishmash. True, it has the disadvantage of distraction, as the viewer cannot fully appreciate each piece placed so close to one another. To all those who participated in the feet conjoined hands projekt,
it seems that the cd skips alot, and has trouble playing in certain
parts.  Sometimes it won't play at all.  I do not want to open and
check the others I have, as it will ruin its wonderful packaging, with
its delightful bonus 'seasonal greetings'.  Has anybody else
encountered this problem?  What's the point of making 20 fucking
copies, if they don't play anyways!  naks.
