MISSED FATHER'S DAY! NUTS!   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #102 of 749 |
Sorry I missed Father's Day yesterday, but I just wanted to wish
everyone a belated Happy Father's Day. One of the most touching hymns
is "Faith Of Our Fathers," which was originally written as an Irish
rebel song. The message is that in spite of "Dungeon, fire and sword,"
the faith lives still. We must continue to practice this faith by
practicing what we preach. And we must strive to win souls to Jesus
and his healing love. Thus, we will be truly practicing the "Holy
Faith" that "Faith of Our Fathers" speaks of.
It occurs to me that this was originally written to help the Irish
rebel cause in the 19th. and early 20th. century when Ireland struggled
to be free from English oppression. Although the words have changed an
awful lot, the message still remains the same. No matter what may come
that is evil, our faith in God will see us through and help us to win
all people to his son Jesus.
"Faith of Our Fathers, Holy Faith,
We will be true to Thee 'til Death!"
I hope your Father's Day was happy!
