PATRIOTIC MUSIC IN CHURCH!   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #110 of 747 |
American patriotic music is truly appropriate as part of church
services when our nation's major holidays are observed.
Especially "America The Beautiful," which celebrates the great beauty
of our nation. The beauty of American nature, the Pilgrims who beat a
thoroughfare for freedom, and, of course, the heroes proven in
liberating strife.
Another great him is "The Battle Hymn Of The Republic," which you know
as "Glory, Glory, Hallelujah." It is a march that celebrates the
Lord's leading his people through the war against evil. Its most
famous performance was Andy Williams at the funeral of Robert F.
Kennedy in 1968. One of its most stirring line comes towards the end:
"As he died to make us holy,
let us live to make all free!"
God Bless America!
