You all know about Sara's "You'll Always Be My Baby" book, but
here's another one you should purchase. Charlie Daniels has
authored "Growing Up Country: What Makes Country Life Country",
which features Sara's story of growing up in the heartland. When
Sara was young, she sang about wanting to be the only female fiddle
player in Charlie Daniels' band, and now that she's all grown up,
she's not in his band, but is in fact in his new book! Here's how
Publishers Weekly describes it:

---------------
Country star Daniels assembles a slight collection of essays from 59
self-described "country folk"-from Dolly Parton to Jimmy Carter-on
the appeal and influence of rural life. Organized into sections such
as "Faith," "Home" and "Stars and Stripes," the essays share a
saccharine perspective on the past ("when hugging was in style,"
reports Daniels) and a contradictory urge to keep their
recollections of it short: many entries are no more than a page, and
some clock in shorter than the author bio they follow. Indeed, with
the exception of Joe Ely's-about "finding the true sound of my music
and my Texas roots" in Europe, of all places-these repetitive, often
one-note essays are not so much about music or growing up as they
are about reinforcing an American rural mythology (Barbara Mandrell
sums up nicely: "We were raised to realize that God, family, and
America are the most important things in life"); for those already
invested in their vision, these essays should prove sporadically
rewarding.
---------------

We ordered our copy a few days ago on Amazong from their 3rd party
sellers for under $4. Just click on "New & Used" and you'll see
some really good deals for this hardcover book.

Just thought I'd pass this along to everyone. Have a great weekend!

As you're putting the finishing touches on your holiday shopping,
there's no better gift to order than Sara's NEW BOOK, "You'll Always
Be My Baby," co-written with Tony Martin and Tom Shapiro. It may not
arrive by Christmas at this point, but it's better late than never. :)

The book is based on her current radio single, which according to
Nielsen BDS is up three spots from #24 to #21 on the December 18th
chart (Thanks for the info Mike S.). Sara has been conducting a
nationwide radio tour to promote the book, reflect on her experience
with Dancing with the Stars, and to look ahead to her headlining shows
and soon-to-be-released Greatest Hits album. Click on the following
link for a partial transcript of her recent interview with Country
Countdown host Lon Helton:

http://www.countrycountdownusa.com/CountryCountdownUSA.php

If you'd like to place an order for her book, it is available on
amazon.com or musicountry.com.

I hope everyone has a warm, safe, & merry Christmas and a joyous New
Year!! Oh, and once again, Christmas cards from Sara friends far out-
numbered cards received by our "other" family. We're so thankful for
our S&A family!!

God Bless!

Hey S&A!

August was supposed to be a month of rest for Sara, and yet there
have already been 8 major news items to report, as listed on the
Sara-Online.Net News Page: http://www.sara-online.net/update.html

It seems that this is the year that everything has exploded, just as
Sara predicted. Her career continues to soar to new heights, so
that even an off month is filled with breaking news, and a few
surprises!

The major surprise, of course, is that Sara will be a competitor on
the new season of "Dancing with the Stars" next month!! After a
nearly two-year stretch on the road with Brad Paisley, Sara is about
to concentrate on dancing to music rather than singing it. In fact,
she's already been practicing her dance moves with partner Tony
Dovolani, who paired with Stacy Keibler in the second season.
Viewers will have a chance to vote for their favorites each week, so
remember to watch and vote for Sara!! The show premieres Tue.,
September 12 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on ABC.

Also, look forward to the soon-to-released video for the new
single, "You'll Always Be My Baby", which was released to radio
yesterday on her son Avery's 7th birthday. What great timing! The
shooting for the video was completed several weeks ago.

Sara also continues her work as a spokesperson for the National
Eating Disorders Association (NEDA). As Sara stated on a recent CMT
Top 20 Countdown, "Being beautiful means a lot more than being
skinny." Sara is especially passionate about educating young girls
concerning the dangers of eating disorders because she says that a
close friend almost lost her life from anorexia; plus, she wants her
daughters Olivia and Audrey to grow up with a healthy self-image.
So, Sara will be taking part in the fashion show fundraiser "Fashion
for Every Body," to benefit the Eating Disorders Coalition of
Tennessee and The Sara Evans Fund. The charity event will be held
on September 17 at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, with
Sara serving as host & performer. Tickets are now on sale through
Ticketmaster, or for more information, visit www.edct.net or
www.saraevans.com.

There's still more.....

Tonight Sara will be performing ARFPTS and a duet with 3 Doors Down
on the "JCPenny Jam....The Concert for America's Kids," hosted by
Dr. Phil. The concert was recorded soon after the CMA Music
Festival week at LA's Shrine Auditorium, and is held for the sake of
promoting quality afterschool programs for America's kids. Watch
for it on CBS tonight at 8:00pm ET!

And still more...

Sara will be joining Jeff Foxworthy on his new sketch-comedy on CMT
next month (09/08). Plus Sara has collaborated on a few CD's that
you'll want to purchase soon. Texas country rocker Pat Green's new
album CANNONBALL arrives in stores today (08/22), which features a
duet with Sara on "Finder's Keepers." Sara will also appear on the
new CD ESCAPE by world-renown pianist/producer/composer Jim Brickman
(to be released 10/03 w/single on Adult Contemporary radio to
follow) and the Barbara Mandrell tribute album SHE WAS COUNTRY WHEN
COUNTRY WASN'T COOL (to be released 10/10). Be sure to look for
these exciting new albums!

There are so many ways we can lend our support to Sara's career
right now, from supporting the causes she cares so much about to
voting for her on her first reality show! Let's see to it that her
star continues to burn brighter than ever!

God Bless!

Hi S&A!

I'm sure you're all looking forward to the release of Sara's new
single, "You'll Always Be My Baby", which will be added to music
rotations at country stations nationwide later this month. It's up
to us to stay after the DJ's with requests and ensure that the song
gets played immediately and consistently. Let's all do our part to
help make this single as successful as ARFPTS!

And just to let you know, although there has been no message posted
here in several months, the News page has been kept up to date on
Sara-Online.Net, so check these links to get up to speed with
anything you may have missed:

Hey S&A,

If you haven't heard, Sara will be making a guest appearance on
tonight's episode (04/04) of Nashville Star, the nation's top-rated
country music series! The hit talent search is in its fourth
season, airing Tuesdays at 10:00 PM ET/9:00 PM CT on the USA
Network. Watch for Sara to do opening and closing performances on
this evening's show.

I'm also pleased to be working with some of USA's marketing people
again this year to have a Nashville Star prize pack giveaway! Last
year, Grant & Karen won the prize pictured below for their winning
entries in our first N.Star contest:

http://www.sara-online.net/board/NashvilleStarPrizePack.jpg

This time, we've been promised two Nashville Star t-shirts AND a
little something extra.....an autographed Wynonna Judd t-shirt! And
all three shirts are being given away to one winner in this week's
contest. For info on how to enter, just visit the S&A forum at:

http://disc.server.com/Indices/218565.html

As it mentions, all participants must submit TWO possible tour names
for Sara's first-ever headlining tour which is coming up in the
Fall. The reasoning behind two entries per person is that it will
help break any ties for replica submissions. Entries can be e-
mailed to contest@.... I'll reply to each message to
confirm receipt of your entry. You have until this Friday (04/07)
to submit your two ideas for a tour name. The panel of 5 judges
will vote for their favorite tour names from the pool of entries,
and the person who submits the highest-scoring pair of tour names
wins. The judges will base their decisions on relevance to Sara's
music, creativity, and the must-see appeal it generates. In other
words, when someone hears the name of the tour, do they immediately
A) think of Sara; B) smile at the originality of it; and C) want to
jump on board by attending the show?

This is not an official contest of Sara or her representatives.
It's just a fun contest, with a chance at winning some memorabilia,
and an attempt at drawing attention to such a big milestone in
Sara's career as she plans to launch her own tour! And, it's open
to everyone, whether you've ever posted on the Saints & Angels forum
or not. :)

Also watch for:

Hi S&A,

Just in case you didn't notice on the Sara-Online.Net forum, we have
a winner in the Real Fine Place album review contest. The winning
entry was composed by MIKE STENZ! Mike receives the autographed CD
insert and vinyl window sticker bearing the S&A logo. Congrats to
Mike and all the contestants for their fantastic reviews!

Below is a link to Mike's album review, as well as the 2nd & 3rd
place entries as determined by our panel of five judges:

I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays and are looking forward to
another big year from Sara. The year 2005 was about as big a year
for her as any of us could have hoped for, with the release of the
new album, another #1 single for ARFPTS, appearances on Good Morning
America & the Today Show, along with full touring schedules with
Brad Paisley and Alan Jackson. And although the numerous award
nominations didn't produce trophies, I found it interesting that in
the Country Weekly Readers' Poll (Jan. 2, 2006), Sara was the clear
favorite for Female Artist with 22% of the vote, followed by Martina
(20%), Faith (17%), Trisha (14%), and Terri (8%). The CMA Winner
Gretchen Wilson was not even listed on the people's choice. Perhaps
this means an award is in sight for Sara at the upcoming fan-voted
Flameworthy's? We shall see....

Finally, here's a rundown of the recent albums you need to pick up
to stay current with Sara:

*Cracker Barrel Presents Sara Evans - Feels Like Home (Available at
C. Barrel)
*Pickin' on Sara Evans: Bluegrass Tribute (Available at Target)
*Desperate Housewives Soundtrack (featuring vocals on "One's on the
Way")
*Coming Home by Lonestar (feat. accompanying vocals on "I Never
Needed You")
*Underneath the Same Moon by John Rich (feat. Sara duet, avail.
March 14)

Hey everyone,

Just a brief note to let you know that another contest is underway through the Sara-Online.Net forum.  As we've done in the past, an autographed CD insert will be the prize, along with a vinyl window sticker bearing the S&A logo.  All you have to do is write up a brief review of Sara's new album Real Fine Place, and submit it to contest@... by December 8.  We have a panel of five judges who have agreed to help choose the best review.  To read the criteria of what the entries will be graded on, stop by the Saints & Angels forum at http://disc.server.com/Indices/218565.html.  We hope to have as many participants as possible!

Good luck!
-Chuck

This contest is not affiliated with Sara Evans, Modern Management, RCA, or any other official representatives.  It's just a way of adding a little excitement to the board, sharing an autographed CD insert with a fellow fan, and promoting Real Fine Place through positive reviews of this remarkable piece of work.

Just in case you haven't heard, this week Sara scored her fourth
career #1 hit with "A Real Fine Place to Start". She currently
holds the top spot on both Billboard and R&R.

I think a big word of congratulations is in order for Sara and crew
on hitting yet another milestone. You can't ask for much more than
a #1 single before the album is even released. Looks like the
marketing strategies and timing of the release of ARFPTS was right
on the money this time. And we can never underestimate the effect
that fantastic music video had in getting this song off to a running
start. If all the other singles from Real Fine Place do this well,
Sara may have a triple platinum record on her hands!

Also, what a great job all her fans did to keep those requests
pouring in to your local stations!! You can also celebrate in this
accomplishment. But don't stop requesting now, as we want her to
remain in the lead position for as long as possible. The longer she
stays at #1 just provides more reasons why Sara should be crowned
Female Vocalist of the Year this November. (Not to mention the fact
that she's now had TWO #1 hits within the last 12 months). CMA
judges, are you listening?

In other news, Sara makes a guest appearance on the new project from
Lonestar which was released this week. It's titled Coming Home, and
Sara may be heard with lovely harmonies and standout vocals on "I
Never Needed You." This actually marks the first time a female
guest vocalist has ever appeared on a Lonestar song. For the
lyrics, just check out the Contributions table on the Lyrics Page:

http://www.sara-online.net/lyrics.html

With so many important dates of interest coming up for the diehard
Sara fan, I posted this little calendar on the board yesterday, and
have reproduced it below:

Sept. 13 - Lonestar's Coming Home album--featuring Sara--arrives in
stores
Sept. 20 - Desperate Housewives soundtrack--also featuring Sara--is
released
Sept. 23 - Time Well Wasted Tour w/Brad Paisley launches in Portland
Oct. 4 - Real Fine Place is released!! RFP with CMT DVD will be
available at Wal-Mart
Oct. 8-9 - Sara is Lon Helton's special radio guest on Country
Countdown USA
Oct. 12 - Sara appears on ABC-TV's Good Morning America
Nov. 15 - Sara is in the running for Female Vocalist and Musical
Event of the Year at CMA's in NYC

If you haven't already done so, remember to pre-order the new album
through this link in order to be entered into the concert getaway
contest:

5Fid=1069&sfid=2

Oh, and just a few more links before I close. Sara was interviewed
by one of our local country stations in Houston, TX this past
Monday, and we recorded the interview for you guys. We just used a
hand-held tape recorder, so the quality is not the best. Here are
the three parts though. (Right click links & "Save Target As"):

This is "Country's Night to Shine" as the 40th Annual Academy of
Country Music Awards is set to begin at 8:00 PM ET/PT from Mandalay
Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, NV. As usual, CBS will be
carrying the telecast.

Sara has received a nomination for Top Female Vocalist. Her
competition includes Terri Clark, Martina McBride, Gretchen Wilson,
and Lee Ann Womack. Restless has also received a nomination for
Album of the Year. In addition to her nominations, Sara is
scheduled to perform her new single, "A Real Fine Place to Start".
And, as she did on the CBS News clip in March, she'll be strumming a
guitar to accompany her vocals. Yet another reason to watch and
support our Sara!

On another note, congratulations to Sara on her latest award: a
Dove award for "The Passion of the Christ: Songs" project which won
in the "Special Event" category. Sara and Brad Paisley's song, "New
Again", was the only track on the project from country artists. For
a list of Sara's past awards and distinctions, check out the newly
added Awards Table toward the bottom of the Sara-Online timeline
page:

http://www.sara-online.net/timeline.html

Also congratulations to Sara on making the recent issues of People
(May 9 issue) and Ladies' Home Journal (June issue). The inclusion
in People Magazine was an especially high honor, as Sara was named
to the "50 Most Beautiful" list. She was the only country artist
among this year's elite list of celebrities.

On the Saints & Angels front, the last contest on the forum was a
big hit, with Karen, Chris, and Rob receiving Nashville Star prize
packs (http://www.sara-online.net/board/NashvilleStarPrizePack.jpg)
for their winning entries. The next contest should begin in another
few weeks.

The vinyl window stickers with Saints & Angels logo are also a huge
hit so far. Picking up on Julie's t-shirt idea, Tiffany thought it
would be nice if everyone could proudly display the S&A emblem as
they're cruising down the highway (hopefully heading to the nearest
Sara concert). So, she is coordinating a project to create the
window sticker you see below:

http://www.sara-online.net/board/SaraSticker1.jpg
http://www.sara-online.net/board/SaraSticker2.jpg

About 30 requests have already been submitted, and if you would like
to be included, just send an e-mail to tiffany@... for
more information. (Credits for the design of the S&A logo go to Joe
Fusco)

That's about all I have for this update. Again, watch Sara tonight
on the ACM's, be on the lookout for her new music video for ARFPTS
(which should be filmed this week), catch CMT Home Blitz this Friday
(featuring Sara's hometown), and lastly, catch up with her with Alan
Jackson on the "What I Do" Tour, coming to a city near you!

God Bless,

Hello Saints & Angels!

With this being Inauguration Day, and considering Sara's close
friendship with the President & First Lady, I've added a few files to
your Yahoo group that I think you'll be interested in hearing.

The first is of President Bush praising Sara by saying, "I love the
voice of Sara Evans." This was taken from the President's Dinner in
Washington on July 21, 2004, immediately following a beautiful
rendition of "Amazing Grace" sung by Sara, which is also now available
in the files section. Many thanks to Arthur for ordering a DVD copy
of the C-Span broadcast so that we could all enjoy this.

You'll also be able to hear a portion of a Country Countdown USA
broadcast from September '04 in which Sara talked to Lon Helton about
how nervous she gets around President Bush, even when she tries to
"play it cool." (Reminds me of most of us when we're around Sara!)

Thanks also to Arthur for capturing those clips for us. Also while
you're there, if you've never listened to the many other audio files
that Rob, Marteen, Joe, among others, have provided from their
personal collection, then be sure to check those out.

We want to wish Sara all the best as the leaves Washington today after
having performed for the President (again!) last night, and heads to
Reading, Pennsylvania to continue the Mud & Suds Tour with Brad
Paisley & Andy Griggs.

If you're planning on attending any of the shows on this current tour,
shoot me an e-mail so I can let everyone else know by way of the S&A
Calendar:

That's all for now. Thanks to those who nominated Sara-Online.Net for
a second run of Country Stars Online's "Site of the Week."

Sara and the number 3 have been close acquaintances as of late. At
age 33, Sara has had her third child (Audrey Elizabeth), her third
#1 hit (Suds), and as of last Saturday, a #3 ranking on
CMT's "Twenty Sexiest Women Countdown."

We couldn't be more proud of Sara right now for all of her
accomplishments! To catch up on just how busy she's been, check out
the Updates page at

http://www.sara-online.net/update.html

(and corresponding Archives page). While there, don't forget to
follow the image link at the bottom to GAC's Top 20 Country
Countdown page, and cast your vote for Suds. Brian has been doing a
great job of rallying everyone together in an effort to keep Suds in
the top 20 on GAC for an entire year, and I wanted to do my part by
advertising it in the latest group e-mail. The direct link is

http://www.countrystars.com/vote.html

And finally, speaking of advertisement, thanks so much to Arthur for
his gift to the site recently. He purchased an ad on Google to be
displayed the night of the CMA Awards--and a couple of days
following--in order to boost traffic and provide those seeking a fan
site devoted to Sara with our link. As a result of his "pay-per-
click" link, Sara-Online hit a new personal best on Nov. 10 with 475
unique daily hits. Our previous one-day high was less than half
that number, so Arthur really came through for us.....and all the
new fans who were searching for info on Sara after seeing her on the
CMA Awards. For photos from the CMA's click here:

Have a great day Saints & Angels! Thanks to everyone for your

Greetings Saints & Angels! I wanted to write because it's been a
while since our last newsletter, and because I received a
notification from Yahoo that the group would be shut down if it
remained inactive for another seven days. Ouch!

Technically, it hasn't been inactive though, because new members are
joining every week, and the photos are also kept current. I just
haven't written anything as of late, mainly because the News & Forum
pages on Sara-Online.Net are all you need to stay up to date with
what's going on with Sara and her unofficial fan site. The
newsletters I've sent out thus far have mainly been a recap of what
everyone already knows if they read the board.

However, I will continue to send these out periodically because they
do help draw attention to a few matters that you might overlook if
you don't get a chance to read the board everyday. The posts come
in so quickly now that even if you miss a couple of days, it takes
30 minutes to catch up. :)

Two things I wanted to mention are that orders are currently being
taken for another batch of Saints & Angels t-shirts. Julie was nice
enough to handle the original order, and she has volunteered to take
care of a second printing. These are, of course, the shirts we wear
at concerts to help identify us as Sara's "FC within the FC," as
Sara put it. They bear the logo Joe designed last year, and the
photo Steve shot at the Blue Note in Columbia. If you've never seen
what the shirts look like, check out the photos on the S&A portal
at:

http://www.sara-online.net/saints_angels.html

You may contact Julie at julie@... and she will add your
name to the list.

Secondly, you've probably noticed the Amazing Grace III banner which
hangs atop the S&A Forum. The banner was placed there in response
to a request from a representative with EMI CMG, the group which
released the Amazing Grace album (which hopefully everyone has
purchased already). In exchange for placing the banner on our
board, we were promised some memorabilia. It arrived the other day
in the form of FIVE Amazing Grace III CD covers, each autographed by
Sara (the inserts only). The representative told me to do whatever
I wanted with them, whether that be keeping them or giving them away
in a contest of some kind. Well, obviously I'm not going to keep
ALL of them, but Tiffany did want one for the shrine. :)

So, now I have four left, and after soliciting feedback from many of
you on the board, I have decided how we'll go about giving these
away. We've never had any contests with prizes on Sara-Online, so
this is very exciting! I'm hoping to get a lot of people involved
over the course of the next few weeks as these are given away to the
winner of each contest.

I will be announcing the details of each giveway on the forum soon,
so be sure to visit the board every day. Also, if you haven't done
so already, go ahead and buy the Amazing Grace III album because no
one will be eligible to win unless they have bought at least one
copy. A link to the website is provided in the links section of
this Yahoo group.

Congratulations to Sara and Craig on their third child (due in
September), and on the success of "Suds in the Bucket" (now in the
Top 20!). From appearing on the 700 Club and the View to co-hosting
CMT's 100 Greatest Love Songs, Sara has not let pregnancy slow her
down one bit. The Saints & Angels have not slowed down either, as
is evident by the Sara-Online Flipbooks and photo files in this
group. Look for the Union flipbook, along with more photos of S&A
standing next to the sign in New Franklin very soon!

Until next time,
-Chuck

Good morning S&A,

It seems like so much happens from one update to the next, and so is
the case this month. Since the last newsletter, Sara has appeared
in a live GAC telecast of the Opry, "Perfect" has risen to #2 on
Billboard, and the S&A have had their largest convention to date in
Valdosta, GA!

First things first, we'd all like to say congratulations to Sara on
her current chart run with "Perfect". As we learned from Matt in
Valdosta, Sara is one of only three females in the past two years to
land in Billboard's Top 10. Now it looks like she has a legitimate
shot at scoring the third #1 hit of her career!! Let's continue to
saturate the country stations in your area by calling in with
requests!

Soon thereafter, we can look forward to "Suds In the Bucket" making
its sprint up the country charts as Sara's third release from the
Restless album, with accompanying video soon to be shot. We also
can look forward to Sara taking home a Flame Worthy award April 21
(fingers crossed), winning an ACM on May 26 (fingers crossed), and
making several special appearances on CMT, including Total Release
April 9 and Ultimate Home II, premiering April 10. As always, read
all about this month's scoops on the News Page of Sara-Online.Net.

Now, for a few words about the Valdosta Convention.....

First of all, thanks to Don Lockart for being such a gracious host
to all of us as we came together from six different states and
converged upon his hometown for the show of all shows! Don handled
it all in stride, like just another busy day of managing waiters &
waitresses at the Barrel. He planned out everything from lodging to
pregame meals to parking to directions, etc., and best of all,
secured FANTASTIC seats for all of us! From our vantage point, we
could see all of Sara's facial expressions, which made the show much
more enjoyable, as we were able to pick up on a few minor "mistakes"
that those in the back probably missed. For instance, her bracelet
came off at one point during a song, and she briefly glanced down
and then made the funniest expression, like saying, "That wasn't
supposed to happen." haha

Sara has had a birthday since the last newsletter (February 5), &
according to remarks that she made from the stage in Valdosta, she
is still stuck on age 21. Go figure...haha! And, although she told
the crowd she was hurt that they didn't send her a birthday card to
help her celebrate the milestone of finally turning 21, she looked
over to the S&A section and said, "Well, I know you guys
remembered," like a teacher who is exempting her best students from
a lecture she is giving the rest of the class. That, along with her
dedication of "Saints & Angels" (the song) to our group made the
trip from TX worth it for me, and I'm sure for everyone else in our
group.

The trip was also defined by the fact that we were able to do so
much together as a group, from eating several meals to riding roller
coasters prior to showtime! Plus, we were all wearing our new
Saints & Angels t-shirts as a sign of unity.....and also
advertisement!! (Don had to remind me that there was actually a
photo on the back of the shirts because my eyes were only fixed on
the reference to Sara-Online when Julie first gave them to us!
LOL) I believe the advertisement worked, as we had a record number
of visitors in the following days, and a few new people who signed
the guestbook and said they saw us at the show. So thanks again to
Julie for allowing us to be walking billboards that Saturday!

I also want to thank one other individual who is responsible for the
logo on the front of the shirts. It has become our official emblem,
and we owe all the credit for that to Joe Fusco. He did a fantastic
job on the artwork which is now seen all over the site, on the
shirt, and even in our home, as we were fortunate enough to receive
his original draft. It belongs to all of the S&A though, and with
that in mind, we had Sara to sign and date the original Saints &
Angels logo in Valdosta to all of her S&A. (A thumbnail of the
autograph is on the main index page)

I truly hope that you've all read the reviews of the S&A who
attended last month's Valdosta experience, as they are all organized
together on the Fan Reviews page. After reading all of your
excellent reviews on the Valdosta experience, there are not many
stones left unturned as far as written descriptions go, so for my
part, I've channeled most of my energies this time toward putting
together a 40-page photo flipbook that visually represents most
every aspect of the largest Saints & Angels convention to date:

http://www.sara-online.net/saints_angels.html (Click on Valdosta
flipbook)

I hope the photos convey how that weekend resembled a group field
trip (without the bus!). From Friday afternoon to Saturday evening,
we all discovered that we get along just as well face-to-face as we
do over the internet…..perhaps better, considering that Julie
didn't
give Robert a virtual bloody nose! LOL

But, seriously, I do hope it is apparent by these photos that we all
had good, clean fun before and after the show as we enjoyed one
another's company. I tried to include just as many of those type
shots as I did of the concert photos because I really want to convey
what a fun time we had as a group. As I've said on many
occasions,
just being at a concert with the group makes it so much more
enjoyable because each person's enthusiasm spills over to the rest
of us. I feel that I have a fairly good grasp of each
S&A "testimony" of how they fell in love with Sara, and to see all
of your faces at the show & Meet and Greet is an experience I'll
never forget.

I'll also never forget Brandon screaming into his cell phone right
after our chance encounter with Sara in the Cracker Barrel parking
lot. I think a few hungry people got back in the car and left at
that point.....LOL. I can honestly say that I have never seen anyone
more excited in my life. Brandon responded as if he had won the
lottery. That's what a few minutes with Sara will do to you.

Other memories I'm left with include getting off the Cheetah
roller
coaster and hearing Sara`s voice calling out to us from across
the
theme park. Tiffany exclaimed, "She's doing her sound check!" so
we
raced across the park to see Sara effortlessly hit all her notes
while managing to follow Olivia around the stage. Valdosta proved
to me once again that family comes first in Sara's life, as
Ashley,
Matt, Kaelin, Olivia, and Ashley's little one were all on stage
for
the sound check, playing their part in this whole operation that
draws thousands every year, and still manages to be just a larger-
scale version of the Sara Evans Show that started when the Evans
family was still living at home. The tours have extended outside of
Missouri, and the venues are now stadiums and coliseums rather than
lodges and retirement homes, but the formula remains unchanged:
When one buys a ticket or a CD to hear Sara Evans, they get
practically the whole family. And Sara wouldn't have it any
other
way.

My other lasting memory, also from the sound check, was during the
warm-up for "Backseat of a Greyhound Bus" when Sara sang "sweet baby
girl….she found a brand new world." At that moment, Olivia was
standing on stage in front of her mommy, and Sara looked down at
her, as if to sing those words to her own sweet little angel. I
believe that moment crystallized what that song means to Sara, in
addition to providing me with a greater appreciation for the song,
as I will always visualize that moment when I hear BOAGB. If we had
left the park following the sound check, I still would have felt
that the 750-mile trip had been worth it after witnessing such a
personal moment between Sara and her daughter.

Well, those are just a few of the thoughts I took away from this
experience, but be sure to read everyone else's at http://www.sara-
online.net/fan_reviews2004.html#02_21_04

Until next time, cross those fingers that "Perfect" reaches #1, and
that Sara picks up her first Flame Worthy & ACM Awards!! A lot is
at stake in the next couple of months!

God Bless,
-Chuck

Greetings Saints & Angels,

Here is your first newsletter of the new year. I realize that
it's been a while since I last sent out an update, but I also
know
that the majority of our subscribers are faithful to read the forum
on a weekly basis, so I've been using it as the primary means of
notifying everyone of changes made to Sara-Online.Net.

But, for the scores who have joined even since the last update,
I'd especially like to familiarize you with the site, in addition
to
some of the recent additions to the files & photos section of this
Yahoo group. The group's membership now stands at 83, which is
an
indication that we're growing fast and growing well. Most of you
learned about this group through the Sara-Online forum, but others
may have stumbled across it by way of a search engine. If the latter
is true for you, then I'd like to encourage you to visit our
forum, which you'll find a link to on the main index of sara-
online.net.

For the newbies to the group, the forum is the place to congregate
daily for news relating to the official site of the Saints & Angels.
I frequently get e-mails asking what the best way is to determine
when photos have been added to the extensive galleries of the site,
and I always respond by saying that no change to Sara-Online will go
undocumented on the forum. As long as you stay caught up with the
forum, you'll always know when a change has been made, even if
it's as minor as adding a couple of new M&G photos.

I also utilize the forum to update everyone on additions to the files
section within this Yahoo group. And, there have been quite a few
changes here in the last few months. For example, due to the
generosity of Marteen Ryan, Joe Fusco, and Rob Dubois, we now have
the rarest audio files you'll find on Sara Evans, such as
recordings of Sara at age 10, sound bytes of songs Sara sings to her
kids, and even the famous Coke jingle Sara wrote and recorded at the
beginning of her career. All of these files are here for you to
download and enjoy, and many of them will also be available for
current Fan Club members via the official site, as we have been
sharing everything we have with Craig Dunn (official webmaster) to
distribute among those who support Sara with their FC dues. Look for
exciting things from the official site in the weeks ahead, and be
proud that through the efforts of Craig, Kaelin, and the Saints &
Angels, the broader Fan Club has also become "first-class".
(ref. /interview.html)

As we begin this new year, we have so much to look forward to, from
the largest-ever gathering of S&A next month in Valdosta, GA to the
inevitable addition of new people to our group as Sara-Online
continues to reach out and pull new fans into our "Fan Club within
the Fan Club." Up until just a month or two ago, the site was
essentially only advertised by word-of-mouth, due to the poor
rankings it was getting on Google. However, through a few
modifications to the site's title and meta description, we're
now listed in the Top 10 on Yahoo, Google, Lycos, and many other
major search engines. The timing couldn't be more perfect either,
because the entire website is now ready for business, as the
words "Under Construction" no longer appear anywhere on the site.
Even the empty slots in all the photo galleries will be occupied in
the next few weeks. I already have enough photos to push the total
to well over 700; it's now just a matter of coding them into the
tables.

Rest assured, the site will never be considered "finished," for as
long as my fellow fans are willing to send me their photos, road
stories, tributes, etc., then I'm willing to make additions. In
fact, changes and additions are welcome, not only because I enjoy
doing this and can't imagine setting it aside for more than a few
days at a time, but also because site updates mean that Sara is
continuing to make news and become an increasing-presence in country
music.

Thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings for this month. Be
sure to drop by the saints_angels Yahoo group homepage if you
haven't done so in a while. There you can view photos posted by
your
fellow group members from recent shows. Feel free to directly upload
your concert pics in the Photos section, as Julie, John S., Robert,
etc. have done. Some may prefer it this way because it allows you
the ability to upload your own photos without having to go through me.

As always, thanks for your support of Sara and your genuine interest
in each other. Until the next update, keep those requests & online
votes for "Perfect" coming!

See everyone in Valdosta...
-Chuck

Hello S&A,

Although the weather is beginning to turn colder, the projects of the
Saints & Angels are really heating up!

Most notably, on Monday October 13, Brittany, Becky, & Greg attended
the Merrillville, IN show and presented Sara with a charm bracelet on
behalf of all the Saints & Angels. (Subscribers to this e-newsletter
may see a photo of Sara proudly displaying her new bracelet in the
Yahoo Photos Section) This was presented along with an attractively
designed card with our logo on the front and a message from the group
inside. Now, as the members of the Saints & Angels see Sara at
future Meet & Greet's, they may present her with additional charms
for the bracelet as a way of identifying themselves with the S&A and
this project. Tim, Joe, Robert, Becky, and all others who had a hand
in this project should be recognized for their hard work in making
all of this come together. The Merrillville presentation was just
the latest of many endeavors of this "first-class Fan Club within the
Fan Club" (as Sara called us) which illustrates the solidarity and
unified vision of this nationwide community of fellow fans. This is
one of the few groups which exists both in cyberspace and in the real
world, as many on here have become lifelong friends, attending one
another's fish fries, carpooling to Sara shows, staying at each
other's homes, and in our case, even meeting their spouse within the
group.

Another recent development to come about this past month is an
addition to Sara's tour schedule due, in large part, to the
persistence of Don Lockart, a leader among the Saints & Angels in
every respect. He has persuaded Wild Adventures to book Sara in his
hometown of Valdosta, GA on February 21, 2004. Now Don is doing
everything in his power to ensure that we have the largest turnout of
Saints & Angels (particularly the original ones) to come out for
the concert & Meet & Greet. The goal is for Sara to truly be
overwhelmed with the turnout of her Saints and Angels....which will
hopefully be the largest chapter meeting we've had to date!

I know this will be quite a drive for many of you (as it will be 12
hours for Jon, Tiffany & me), but I really think this has the makings
of the most memorable gathering to date. After the show, Don is
tentatively planning to have an informal gathering at his church's
fellowship hall with a small buffet of finger foods, sandwich trays,
chicken fingers, some fruit and veggie trays and, of course, some
desserts. If you think you may be able to attend, let Don know soon
(donlockart@...), and also be sure to request a Meet & Greet
from Kaelin. Although the show is not until next February, and
tickets don't go on sale for a while, it's best to act soon since
this date is filling up with Saints & Angels so fast!

In closing, let me welcome our new members to this group. At the
time of writing this, we have 51 members, and we're also seeing lots
of new "faces" in our Sunday Night Chat sessions, including Craig
Dunn, the webmaster of Sara's Official Site. I hope everyone feels
welcome here.

As always, be sure to check out the News section of Sara-Online.Net
for this month's scoops, including pertinent links to related stories
and blurbs of past stories you may have missed, stored for safe-
keeping in the archives. In November, look for more additions to the
site, in particular the Video Stills page, as I now have stills from
all videos on disk, and need only to edit and upload them.

Finally, some of you have had problems viewing the scrolling quotes
on the main index page (bottom left under the audio welcome message),
so here is the complete list of them. As always, I'm open to your
suggestions of any quotes which describe Sara well, or that were
spoken by an influential person.

I leave you with these quotes. See you on the concert trail!
-Chuck

"Once you hear her sing, you're hooked. She's got the voice, the
look, the personality - the whole package. She sells herself."

-Dale Turner - RCA VP

"Crystal voiced, optimistic of heart and looking like she just
breezed in from a L'Oreal photo-shoot, Sara Evans is every inch the
modern Nashville starlet."

-Peter Kane

"....a muscular soprano, sharp and clear as a new-cut diamond -- a
voice that critics rank as among the best to come along since Loretta
Lynn sang her way out of the Kentucky coal fields....a voice that
sounds like it was born inside a roadhouse jukebox."

-Harry Esteve - The Oregonian

"She has a voice to die for. Millions of people can sing, but not
many of them call tell you how they feel. It is what separates the
contenders from the pretenders. A singer of true depth, Sara
communicates far more in a subtle turn of phrase than with a show-
boasting shriek."

-Alan Cackett - Country Music International

"She was born to do this."

-Pete Anderson, Producer of Three Chords & the Truth

"Thank God for Martina McBride and Sara Evans - two female country
artists who continue to make great music and project an image country
listeners can relate to."

-Frank Bell of Keymarket Communications VP/programming

"If there's any such thing as a perfect career in Nashville, Sara
Evans has had it."

-Mark Brown, Denver Rocky Mountain News

"Sara Evans is so good she's scary ... A preserver of the best of
country's history and a progressive writer and singer forging a
timeless contemporary sound, she invites favorable comparisons to the
best country divas."

-Billboard

"You could attribute the success of Pam Tillis to her family genes
and Shania Twain's to her tight-fitting jeans, but for Sara Evans it
is the genius present in her voice. Hers may be the purest country
voice to hit Nashville, or anywhere else, for a long time."

-Donn Jehs

"The girl can sing; she's got that perfect blend of smoke and syrup
in her vocals, and her songs run barefoot through the bluegrass."

-New York Times

"You've got to listen to this. This is something you can't deny.
This is my year. This is my time. I've got the voice for it. I've
got the album for it. So, here it is."

Hello Saints & Angels,

Wow! September has been a busy month for Sara, and for all of us as
we attempt to keep track of the latest shows, radio interviews, press
releases, sales figures, and video airings. With so much to keep up
with, it's a good idea to check out the Latest News Page of Sara-
Online.Net for updates every few days. This page also includes a
running archive so you can check previous month's headlines that you
may have missed:

http://www.sara-online.net/update.html

And, since these monthly updates are designed to inform you of any
new pages that may have been added since the last edition, here is a
list of links which were introduced in late August/September:

http://www.sara-online.net/definition.html
http://www.sara-online.net/guestbook.html
http://www.sara-online.net/lobby/photo_month.html

Many of you have already signed the guestbook, but if you haven't
done so, we'd love to have a record of your visit to Sara's
Unofficial Fan Site. Also, for anyone else who would like to submit
a one-sentence definition, or "mission statement" of the Saints &
Angels for the first link listed above, feel free to e-mail me the
suggestion: webmaster@...

Soon, I will be adding an audio clip of Sara's own remarks about our
group, as stated during a recent interview with nationally-syndicated
radio host Danny Wright ("Wright All Night"), in which she said:

"There is a group all over America, and they call themselves
my 'Saints & Angels.' And, they're like a Fan Club within the Fan
Club. They're phenomenal people. They're amazing. Most of them are
really, like, religious people, just very sweet. They have just
become like 'first class' in my Fan Club. I see them at my shows all
over the country. And they say, 'I'm a member of the Saints &
Angels.' They buy me gifts. They even gave me a plaque recently at
a show that just had the most beautiful little couple of paragraphs
written to me."

Also check back soon in the Photos section of this Yahoo group for a
scan of an 8x10 that Sara has signed to all of us, in which she uses
the same phrase "First Class Saints & Angels" as she did in the
interview with Danny Wright.

I used one of my recent Meet & Greet's to obtain the autograph for
the group as a whole. If you'd like to read about my recent concert
experiences in Oklahoma City & Ft. Worth, or many of the other
reviews submitted by fellow Saints & Angels, visit the following
address:

http://www.sara-online.net/fan_reviews.html

I'm reminded all the time that our group, and this website, is truly
impacting Sara's career, and reaching out to her fans in a special
way. However, I could never have expected that the site would
actually bring comfort to a little girl who had been gravely injured
in a bicycle/automobile accident. Her name is Rosalyn, and she is a
huge fan of Sara Evans. Her mom, who has been in correspondence with
me since the accident, says that her daughter loves receiving new
photos of Sara. Everytime the mother finds a new picture online, she
prints it up and hangs it on the wall of her daughter's hospital
room. I had the pleasure of referring her to the Sara-Online photo
galleries, and the 650 photos contained within, and here's what the
mother (Monica) had to say:

"Thank you so much for informing me about your site. You should see
Rosalyn's room. Everyone at the hospital always stops in to take a
look and always smiles when they see all the beautiful pics of Sara.

She really does adore Sara and RL is a great artist. She draws
pictures of things in Sara's songs.

I have gotten many wonderful pictures from your extraordinary website
and I am so thankful for all your help. Rosalyn wanted to say hi and
thank you so I thought I'd pass along her thanks. She is feeling
better and there have been some frustrating complications with her
injuries but she is still smiling and she is my little hero. She's
still in the hospital and even though it's not home it feels so much
more cozy with all the Sara pics we have in her room. I know it
sounds like I'm crazy for Sara pics and I really am because it just
really lifts Rosalyn's spirits and every time I put up a new pic it
takes her mind off of things, ya know.

I'm doing my best to keep my spirits up though it's tough when the
doctors keep coming to me with more problems about Rosalyn's
condition. I can't thank you enough for all of your kindness to my
family and especially Rosalyn."

Reading that was very difficult, but at the same time, it makes me
happy that in some small way, the website is bringing some joy into
little Rosalyn's life right now. She's what being a part of
the "Saints & Angels" is all about.

If you'd like to drop Rosalyn or her mother Monica a note of
encouragement, Monica's e-mail address is mega_supermanx@...

God Bless Everyone!

Tuesday, August 19: The day we've all been restless in anticipation
of. And now the wait has finally ended, as "Restless" -- Sara's
first project since her nearly double-platinum selling "Born to Fly"
album was released almost three full years ago -- has now arrived in
your favorite music store.

For those of us whose "debut day" arrived in the form of a
promotional copy last month, we have had the chance to look ahead and
preview the music which will soon rock the country music world. Yet,
it was still a very meaningful experience for me to purchase the
official CD today, on the first day it was made available to the
public. Having not discovered Sara until after the release of Born
to Fly, I have never had the privilege of celebrating one of Sara's
Release Dates, so this is an especially joyous occasion for me.

Although Sara doesn't need to "win me over again" with her music, I
must say that if the Restless album was her first and only CD, I
would be searching for every piece of information I could find on her
right now, just as I did when I heard "Born to Fly" for the first
time on the radio (& the rest is history). Like BTF, Sara once again
uses producer Paul Worley and the drummer the USA Today refers to
as "Evans' secret weapon" -- Matt Chamberlain. However, it rises
above even BTF in that it showcases new styles for Sara, transcending
genres or labels. Overall, it's just more mature, and as Sara puts
it, "is a lot deeper lyrically and more challenging vocally."

Sara has proven herself as country's top artist yet again, and I
believe that as this album makes its way into people's homes, there
will be an influx of new "converts" who are eager to learn as much as
possible about Sara Evans. (And that's where sara-online.net comes
in).

In addition to sales and new fans, the new album should also make
Sara more in-demand on the concert trail. For the past few months,
I've been very encouraged by what I have read about concert
experiences on the Restless Tour. It's apparent that a concerted
effort is being made at each Meet & Greet to acknowledge the efforts
of the Fan Club members, with refreshments and often personal
attention by Kaelin, Matt, and even some of the other members of the
band or Sara's family. And, I LOVE the "family moments" Sara makes
time for on stage, introducing Avery & Olivia at every show, with
Craig usually hanging out in the Meet & Greet area, sometimes taking
photos himself. Hopefully this will make everyone even more enthused
about attending a show!

Since last month's update, Sara and crew have been logging some
serious mileage in an attempt to promote the release of the new
album, with an appearance practically every night at fairs, rodeos,
racetracks, and casinos. The tour has officially been called "The
Restless Tour", and many of the Saints & Angels have already had the
opportunity to see this Summer's show. A typical setlist includes

- "Feel It Comin' On"
- "I Keep Looking"
- "Rocking Horse"
- "Saints & Angels"
- "No Place That Far"
- "To Be Happy"
- "Niagara" (The song Sara said she'd never be able to sing live)
- "Take It On the Run" (REO Speedwagon Cover)
- "Backseat of a Greyhound Bus"
- "Perfect"
- "We Got the Beat" (Go Go's Cover)
- "I Could Not Ask For More"
- "Long Train Runnin'" (Doobie Bros. Cover)
- "Born to Fly" (as an encore after momentarily leaving the stage)

Sara has also been inviting fans to walk up to the stage during her
finale, and somehow managing to sing "Born to Fly" while giving
handshakes, signing autographs, and posing for snapshots. Needless
to say, Sara is in rare form each and every night, and longtime fans
continue to report that she sounds better right now than ever
before! Be sure to read some of the latest reviews left by your
peers, preserved for years to come in the Fan Reviews section of sara-
online.net. Also, put the names with the faces by viewing the Fans
gallery of the photo page -- currently displaying 54 of your smiling
faces alongside Sara (with new submissions always welcome).

And, speaking of pictures, check out the photos section of this Yahoo
group. Just visit the Saints & Angels group home...

...then click on photos. All that is required to view the photos is
your Yahoo ID and password. You'll see several of the projects that
the S&A have been involved with as of late: most notably, the plaque
presentation to both Sara and Kaelin in Jacksonville, FL on July 4.

Finally, while you are checking out websites, always be sure to visit
Sara's official website, "www.saraevans.com". Craig Dunn has done a
fantastic job of revamping the page, just in time for Tuesday's
arrival of the new album. The site now features the new images from
the "Restless" photo shoot, as well as reflecting many of the
suggestions offered by the Saints & Angels, particularly in relation
to the Fan Club. Between being able to get the song descriptions,
audio clips, and biography on the official site; in addition to all
the lyrics, photos, links, & fan reviews on sara-online.net; and on
top of all that, the life story of Sara as presented recently by
CMT's Inside Fame, Sara Evans is starting to have the most informed
fans of any artist!

Until next month, when "Restless" will hopefully have already reached
Gold status, let the sales be many, and let the music world be
introduced to Sara's best project to date!

Hello Sara fans,

I'd just like to welcome all of you to the Saints & Angels mailing
list, the monthly e-group devoted to bringing you the latest
information on Sara's career, recent updates to Sara-Online.Net, and
news of interest about the Fan Club. Thanks to the 21 of you who
have subscribed thus far, including the President of the Official Fan
Club, Kaelin Evans! I think all of the Saints & Angels would agree
that she has single-handedly generated a 180 degree shift in the
direction of the Fan Club, and has dramatically increased the
interest level among FC members. Things have certainly changed for
the better, and now Sara's online friends are taking on more projects
than ever!

On the 4th of July, seven people from this list attended the show at
Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, FL. This represented the largest
delegation of Saints & Angels at any single Sara event to date!
Robert Ehlers of Chattanooga, TN spearheaded an effort many months
ago to produce plaques of appreciation for Sara and Kaelin at the
Jacksonville Meet & Greet. The plaques included the names of all
Saints & Angels from the Unofficial Message Board, our "official"
place to meet and chat online. After collecting funds from all who
were able to contribute, Robert had just enough to cover the cost of
both plaques. He had a very inspiring message engraved on them, and
then had the privilege of presenting both Sara and Kaelin with these
tokens of our appreciation following the show. The plaques were a
HUGE hit, and were just the most recent example of how the Saints &
Angels continue to work hand-in-hand to reach out and touch Sara's
heart, just as she has touched ours. All of us are also members of
the "Kaelin Fan Club", and take pride in efforts to be an
encouragement to her as well.

The latest project is an initiative by Julie to create official t-
shirts for the online fans, bearing the name "Saints & Angels". If
you would like to make a suggestion about what the shirts should look
like, or if you would just like to pre-order your shirt, so that
Julie can have an idea of how many are interested, e-mail her
at "jewels4938@...". She estimates that the shirt, screen
printing, mailing, etc. will run about $10 a person. The price could
even be lower than that, depending on how many sign up, so let's all
roll up our sleeves (no pun intended), and make these t-shirts!
(Tiffany just told me that the last line was lame, but I'm keeping it
in nevertheless).

By the way, thanks to all of you for your prayers and well-wishes
last weekend for our wedding. Tiffany and I joined hands in
matrimony on July 12, after having met on the message board in April
of last year. This marks the first board buddy marriage, and I
believe everyone from the board can claim to have a part in helping
this relationship along. You're all dear friends who we hold in the
highest esteem. To read the details of our wedding ceremony and
reception (which was fraught with Sara's music),
visit "http://disc.server.com/discussion.cgi?

As mentioned in the introduction, these email newsletters are
supposed to be an update on Sara's career and my website -- "www.sara-
online.net". In next month's edition, I will devote more space to
the latest happenings in Sara's career, but for this first one, I
primarily wanted it to be more of a personal note, especially since
the list includes only the most faithful fans at this point, who have
been keeping a close check on all press releases, television &
magazine appearances, and, of course, detailed concert reviews posted
by your peers on the message board. In an effort to give these
reviews the permanence they deserve, I back them up on my Fan Reviews
page at "http://www.sara-online.net/fan_reviews.html". Recent
submissions include those by Jim (Saratoga Springs), Dan (Hannity
Freedom Concert), Joe (Rochester, NY), Tim (Comstock, NE), and of
course the Jacksonville delegation. More will be pouring in over the
next few months as Sara continues her Summer concert tour across the
country.

If you attend a show, you are always welcome to submit a review to be
stored on the website, in addition to photos from the concert, to be
added to the 626 photos which already line the walls of the Sara-
Online.Net galleries. Finally, send in your Meet & Greet photo with
Sara to me at "webmaster@...". There are currently two
pages of fan photos beginning on "http://www.sara-
online.net/pictures/Fans1.html".

Take care all, and be sure to read the excellent article on Sara in
the August/September edition of Country Music Magazine (pgs. 60-63)!

Until next month, God Bless!
-Chuck
