Shroomburger, will all due respect, you may be over-thinking this. It's a
public service
announcement to promote tourism in Texas...that's what it's about. It's a fun
little ditty,
it's not meant to have "meaning," other than to entice people to come visit the
state.

Given how much Sara performs and does good works in the state, it seems only
natural
that she'd want to contribute her talents to this effort.

Best,
Steve

If you want to hear a fun little ditty with some meaningless lyrical content
then checkout Sara's Daisy Dairy commercial at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-Pv_ySeQIU

I suppose there is a meaning to it since, of course, it is intended to sell
Daisy Sour Cream, but I wouldn't call it a world impact type meaning like
Romania.
The Girl's gotta make a living.

O.k. so we've heard from Curt, Jim and Steve on whether or not it's Sara in the
Texas Zippity clip.  What say others?
-Jim

Yep. That's me singing!

Here's what's up with my character: I was requested to
sound like a young girl at a tent revival.

There you have it!

I sure had fun acting like a different creature
altogether!

I am smiling that it is confusing y'all. I'll take my
Academy Award now, please!

;)
Love,
Miss Zippity Doo Dah

just a quick thought on lyrics: absurdity doesn't necessarily mean
no-meaning, if
you take my meaning. anyway, it's a "mood" piece as much as anything...

happy mom's day to Sara and all you moms out there.

marty.

Howdy Sara and Friends and Fans!
I'm trying to make plans to go to the Dallas Arboretum on Memorial Day, May
26th, and wonder what other folks plans are?  I recall last year a few people
went and had a little picnic after the concert.  I was out of town and missed
out on it so I wondered if something like that might work again this year?
Sara, I know you'll be in Kerrville on the 25th, but will you be in town long
enough to picnic after your performance on the 26th?
Looking forward to a fun Summer,
Jim Baker

No confusion way over here in Georgia!!!

And were it in our power to bestow it, you'd have your own little Oscar

this twice...and I am convinced that it is Sara in full fun mode! Jim is
right..."groove me" is DEFINITELY Sara's phrasing. Later in the song she sings
"Take my
hand..." and you can hear that it's her in that as well.

It's fun and makes me wanna go to Texas!!!!

WELL NOW..... You most certainly stumped me on this one because I must
have listened to this clip 5 times ... trying to hear any kind of clue
that would trigger an resemblance of MsSara.

I would not have guessed it was Sara at all.

But then, what do I know [:-/]

Shroomburger, will all due respect, you may be over-thinking this. It's a public

Well, blow me away! I hope since you were actually trying to sound like a 'young
girl at a
tent revival', that the 'bad Sheryl Crow imitation' wasn't too insulting.
Really, is there
ANYTHING you can't do with that voice?

Wow!  Maybe some big promoter will hear the resemblance and make Sara as wealthy
as Ross Bagdasarian did off of the Chipmunks fame.
Naaahhh!  The Chipmunks are much higher pitch and more nasal.  Plus they don't
have as good enunciation.  Listen for yourself at iMunks,
http://www.chipmunks.com/imunks.php .  Maybe your speakers are going bad or
there's a bur under your saddle. Sara's "Zippity" song just sounds like a wacky,
fun song to help thaw out all the frozen Yankees and get them to visit sunny,
warm and fun Texas.
Come to think of it, you might be thinking about the Chipmunks rendition of "The
Yellow Rose Of Texas" at the start of their famous song "The Alvin Twist" that
aired in 1961.  You can check it out at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FF7qP3LqdG4 and see for yourself that Sara's
"Zippity" doesn't sound anything like that.
Too bad for Sara.  Now she won't be famous. :(

Roger!!!

Thank you for sending a PLETHORA of friends...I met at least four different
groups of your friends who came to the concert...It was a really, really lovely
evening. Lee's home is AMAZING! And everyone, of course, was super nice!

You helped pack the house, and everyone LOVES you so! You were so kind to send
out your friends...
Thank you, bless you!
Sara

Hi all...

I've got the cassette version of Ready To Pop and I'm trying to figure out when
Sara first
made it available. I don't know if it came out before Misfits, or between
Misfits and Two
Kinds Of Laughter.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Steve

Steve,

How's it going? I am pretty sure Ready to Pop was released before misfits,
but I am a bit fuzzy on it. I do know it was before Two Kinds of Laughter.

I hope summer is off to a great start for everyone.

Curtis

WOW! What a special Sara show! 1 1/2 hours filled with lots of
laughs, lots of Saraliciousness and lot of love from Chicagoans for our
Sara.

Bless MsHolly and MrJim for picking me up enroute from St Louis via
Peoria for this trip to The Heartland Cafe. It was so nice getting
reaquainted with them and enjoying their company.

I know that Holly had her trusty "set-list napkin" nearly full of all
those songs, and she will post that here really soon... and Jim will
get some pictures up soon too.

Sara and Lance- thank you of your gift of yourselves to us-- all of us
over the years. You are truly, truly loved!

Saint Louis in 2009???

See Photos for a glimpse...

Sorry I missed the Chicago show. Wouldn't you know, I move to Chicago from the
Ann Arbor area, start missing the occasional Sara show, the big time hits
Chicago and I'm off in the Valley of the Sun. Hopefully there will be a next
time soon :)

   Gerry
