Hi All,
My book, Satchmo: The Wonderful World and Art of Louis Armstrong has
just been released by Abrams. It is a celebration of his life and an
art book featuring his collages, writings and photos.
You can find out more here:

And if you are in the NYC area, I will be doing a book signing and
panel discussion with Stanley Crouch:

I have been a Louis fan and collector of his records all my life. I
would love to attend that book signing and especially the panel
discussion but it is in NYC and I live near Los Angeles. Is there any
way you could do a book signing at the Borders Bookstore in Northridge,
California and have yourself and Stanley Crouch and the others on the
panel fly out here to LA so you can do the signing and panel discussion
at the Borders Bookstore in Northridge, California? I can guarantee you
will have an audience because I promise to attend.
On the subject of Louis, I have an old TV show called "Satchmo" I
uploaded a clip from the TV show to my youtube page. Louis talks about
his early days in New Orleans playing with the brass bands and there
are 2 performances of Louis with a band from Copenhagen in 1933. Here
is a link:

Also on my youtube page I have an an interview with Louis being
interviewed by Eddie Condon. Louis talks about recording his Heebie
Jeebies record in the 1920's then Louis starts to scat the number
accompanied by Eddie Condon on guitar then the band joins in with a
nice solo by Jack Teagarden. The great thing about this recording is
you get to hear Eddie Condon on guitar backing Louis' singing. You
alsmost never get to hear Condon's guitar because he usually is
recording with a band and he plays some rhythm in the background almost
inaudible because of the other musicians. Here he plays some nice riffs
to Louis' scat singing Heebie Jeebies. The you can hear Louis
saying "come on in Jack Teagarden" and "play it Jack" and Teagarden
follows with a great solo. Here is a link:

And I'm not done yet-Here is a link to an unpublished autographed
picture of Louis from my husband's collection. The picture was taken in
Los Angeles by Smith of LA probably around 1930:
