Hey everybody,
You know I'm playing this Saturday at JP's Java, right? 7-9pm?
I thought so.
Well, today I went down to Z Tejas to see my producer, Stephen Doster,
and his friends Will Sexton and Bill Carter play like they do every
Wednesday (6-10pm great show!), and afterward, since I was near
Seattle's Best Coffee, I stopped in to say hello to the folks there.
Now, maybe you also knew I was playing there on the 24th. I did.
But they didn't! They had me down for playing THIS FRIDAY,and
they had somebody else playing next Friday. (I'm absolutely positive
they made a mistake, but anyway.) Well...so we reached a
compromise: I'll be playing there this Friday from 7:30 to 9, *AND*
I'll play there next Friday from 9 to 10.
So, if you like things in tabular form:
Friday 9/17, 7:30-9pm, Seattle's Best Coffee (5th & Lamar)
Saturday 9/18, 7-9pm, JP's Java (Duval & San Jacinto)
Friday 9/24, 9-10pm, Seattle's Best Coffee again.
Update on the EP: All the artwork & layout stuff is "totally almost"
done, BUT: I was going to have 100 CD-Rs made in the next
couple days, but it turns out that these CD-Rs, even when
recorded at low speed (like 8x) still won't play on many people's
systems (or my car stereo). To get CD-Rs would run totally counter
to my idea of producing a high-quality product for you folks.
In order to get real CDs made, every company I've looked at
(except one who does shoddy work) around the country require
that you order at least 500 units. I'm not naive enought to think
I can sell more than 250 units. So. Seems we're in a bind. But
there's no point making them as CD-Rs, so.... 500 it is? One
other thing: CD-Rs can be turned around in a day or two, CDs
take two weeks. So, the *CD* (not CD-R) release date is now
pushed back to October. Good things come to those who wait!
Best wishes,
Scott
