Wicked grooves, sublime lead singing, great harmonies, sparkling original songs, and a deep repertoire that spans 200 years of American music, that is Rani
Arbo and daisy mayhem. Four people who share an irresistible chemistry on stage. An unusually gleeful string band that celebrates both tradition and improvisation,
that stumps the categorizers and thrills the listening audience. Fiddle, guitar bass, rich four-part harmonies, and Arbo's soaring, gymnastic alto combine
to create a unique, explosive sound that the Boston Globe dubbed "Neo old-timey with cosmopolitan splashes of contemporary pop and jazz."

As the band wraps up their brand new CD, Big Old Life (Released June 12, 2007) they celebrate seven years together -- spanning three CDs, three children,
two marriages, four mortgages, approximately 34 pounds gained (collectively, thank you) and innumerable miles on the road. It is a recording of four people
playing songs they like, together, as they've done for the past seven years. Big Old Life is also everything Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem fans have always
loved about the band: live energy, dry wit, great grooves, smart lyrics, and a wild ride through a blend of roots music styles, from blues to bluegrass
to old-time, folk, funk, and swing.
