SFS celebrates its collaborative relationship with Portland FolkMusic Society by presenting a special songwriters in-the-round evening featuring two Portland
performers and two from Seattle.

In short:

Dan'l McIlhenny is an acoustic storyteller, a balladeer who also packs a humorous array of witty tunes. He has dedicated most of his spare time to producing,
writing and entertaining with Mother Nature as his mentor, and is an active board member with Portland Songwriters Association and Artichoke Community
Music.

Seattle's Val D'Alessio simultaneously dusts off the forgotten corner of your heart, fills it with a bluesy, satirical tenderness, and leaves you with an
emotional honesty that holds you like a living room rocking chair.

Portland's Joni Laurence is a singer-songwriter of the modern folk kind. Her music has been praised by reviewers and fans alike, who are mesmerized by Joni's
imaginative stories, her warm and powerful voice, and lyrics that bring tears in one song and contagious laughter in the next.

Wes Weddell built a Northwest following producing local-minded songs: in 2001, he received a grant to travel the region gathering history and writing songs,
chronicled on "My NW Home." "Songs to Get You From Here to There" (2006) follows nicely: "Folk meets rockabilly meets lonesome cowboy waltzes," proclaims
Performing Songwriter Magazine, while Victory Music Review adds, "Wes is a major talent in American music." Hailed a "Modern-Day Woody Guthrie" by the
Seattle Times, Wes also founded a non-profit that produces community live-music events around Seattle.
