Mix portions of ragtime, gospel, county blues, swing and hillbilly music, add a cup of vaudeville, and you have the WIYOS. The band comes from Brooklyn,
New York. The name is taken from the toughest gang to prowl the streets of lower Manhattan in the late 1800s. Together, singer Michael Farkas on the washboard
and harmonica; Parrish Ellis, guitar and banjo, and "Joebass" Dejarnette, play old-time music with a 1920s sense of sound and show.

The WIYOS have toured extensively in the United States, Canada and Europe, playing in theaters, bars, street corners, art auctions and pig roasts. Everywhere
they play, the WIYOS charm and amuse audiences with their high-spirited style of old-timey music. On Saturday, October 13, they will stir it up at the
Phinney Neighborhood Center.
