Dear all,
http://www.anglicanjournal.com/100/article/church-music-institute-offers-new
-concert-program/
This story, posted a few days ago, and (at least so I'm told) intended to
reach print publication next month, has generated quite a few new
inquiries... so naturally I would like to get things going, not just in
response to the many enthusiastic responses we've had (from students of SICM
38 and elsewhere), but also those at a more exploratory stage who are
needing further information and support in animating the event in their home
church.
If you're not fully up to speed on "Holy SONG!," visit the dedicated page on
the SICM website here:
http://orgalt.com/sicm/help_sicm/holysong.html, which you can also find
through the Institute's main site, http://sicm.ca.
If possible, let's use these last precious weeks of the summer to make sure
that, if you're planning to do so, you're ready to pitch Holy Song to your
Boards, Ministers, etc. at the most opportune (and if possible, EARLIEST)
time. If I can be of any help with supplementary information, please don't
hesitate to contact me at info@..., or (416) 356-3138.
For those of you west of Southern Ontario, my spring 2008 calendar is going
to allow just one trip west, which must include at this stage an appearance
of me with my friend and church musical colleague, saxophonist Daniel
Rubinoff, in Edmonton's "Sundays at Three" series on April 27th. Subsequent
to this both of us must be back in Toronto by Wednesday May 7th for that
year's Organix Festival. I'm more than happy to work other western/northern
stops into my personal itinerary, and Daniel would also be happy to be part
of some programs as well according to his schedule... but we would like to
plan for these sooner rather than later.
Send your expressions of interest now, or encourage colleagues perhaps more
able to respond to do so.
Enjoy the summer... in Christ as ever,
-CD
