Hello SICM community,

I thought you would find this announcement interesting: competing in this
prestigious Canadian organ competition are one past faculty member (Jonathan
Oldengarm) and one past Osborne Competition winner (Ryan Jackson).
Finalists from outside of the province of Québec were admitted for the first
time in this 6th Concours, and we should be very proud of Ryan for having
qualified.

I won't be going this year, but have made the trip to Québec for this final
round in the past, and it is well worth the trip; for the fine organ at
Sts-Martyrs-Canadiens, for the fine commissioned work always created to be
performed by all finalists, for the extraordinarily high standard of
performance upheld, and the even more extraordinary vision of eminent Québec
performer and teacher Claude Lavoie, who sold his house to found and endow
the triennial competition in 1992.

See you in Whitby, July 6-11 (http://sicm.ca)!
