SICM CELEBRATES 40 YEARS’ SERVICE TO
with an all-Canadian faculty and the theme: “Singing
True, Strong and Free”

SICM’s 40th anniversary session features
Visiting Choral Instructor Mark Sirett and Organ Instructor and recitalist
Maxine Thévenot as well as other exciting faculty. The week begins with a
reunion banquet on Sunday July 5th at Trafalgar Castle School
featuring Canadian susperstar comedienne and SICM ‘granddaughter’
Mary Lou Fallis, presenting a tribute to her grandmother, the late choral
conductor and SICM hostess Jennie Bouck entitled “The Mrs. Bouck Show:
Songs my Grandmother taught me.” Other week highlights include a
Community Choral Concert conducted by Mark Sirett, workshops on hymn playing
worship leading, vocal technique, instrumental ensembles, and Gala Organ
Recital by Maxine Thévenot.
The week, centred at beautiful and historic Trafalgar Castle
School in Whitby (30 minutes east of downtown Toronto) includes daily chapel
services, workshop sessions, concerts, social events and for those requiring
it, accommodations and meals over the six days.
SICM is excited to introduce, in addition to its regular
full-week residential and day registration options for organist/choir
directors, a four-day evening only registration for choristers wishing to join
with the full SICM registrants in preparing and performing the Community Choral
Concert on Wednesday July 8th.
