oh, and I also forgot to mention, I bought the domain name www.palesaints.co.uk,
which is
slowly working it's way up the google rankings as I type - same site, no news
just yet, though
I should do a few updates.
If anyone finds any articles or photos, please feel free to forward them to me,
for inclusion in
the site - you'll always get a credit!
Just in case anyone missed out, the noisy rock n roll band that Graeme
and Chris are now in, released their debut single late last year,
'Dictator' - on 7" only.
Norman Records aren't so keen though...
http://www.normanrecords.com/records/86504http://www.myspace.com/theterminalsuk
There should be some Ian news soon too... more when I've got it
I never got to see them. I had two chances and my plans fell through
both times. I live in Illinois about two and a half hours south of
Chicago and when you're in high school it's an ordeal to get up to
the city for anything. I have been content to worship them from afar
for all these years.
Hi again,
I couldn't let this go..., to think that I may have been to the final
Pale Saints concert was just too exciting...
So I googled and found one hint on a Pale Saints concert together with
the Cranes in December 1994.
And now I'm sure that it was the Cranes my friend took me to!
Searching for Cranes concerts shows that they played the Hamburg
Markthalle on December 15th, 1994.
Can't remember about Bettie Serveert, but anyway...
I was there at the Pale Saints' final gig!
Oh boy...
Bye,
Stefan

Hi,
just saw them once -- Berlin 1992 (together with the Boo Radleys, what
a great package, btw...).
Although:
I seem to remember that I saw them again later in Hamburg, but I'm not
sure...
Sort of lost track of the band in 1993/94, but I think I have seen
them opening for someone during that time. Problem is that I can't
remember who that 'someone' was, but it was a band a friend forced me
to attend, and I wouldn't have gone there normally.
Then I think the Pale Saints were opening to my big surprise...
Checked your gigography, and there is the very last entry in Hamburg!
The show I went to could have been in December '94, and Markthalle is
the place I also remember, but I don't think I've ever been to a
Bettie Serveert concert...
Is that list complete...?
Bye,
Stefan

so, there's a few more of us now on here - how many times have you seen the band
live, and
whereabouts?
There's a gigography over at www.palesaints.co.uk/gigography.html
which might help you out!
I took the plunge and bought the domain name, so the site now points to
www.palesaints.co.uk rather than via my website.
I've a few little bits to add, which I'll try and do before the weekend, and
have found the 'Fine
Friend' video, as well as 'Blue Flower' (although I think 'Blue Flower' is found
via YouTube) -
so I'll try and put some stills from both videos up on the site.
I've also now got an EyeTV, which means I can convert a lot of old videos into
digital format,
which could come in handy, if I find old interviews from tv, which I'm sure
there's many of...
again, it's all down to time, but I'm in London this weekend, so will get a
little bit of time to
have a look around my old video tapes, see what I've got - could be interesting!

it's difficult, isn't it?
Interesting choice though! and welcome!
I was doing some googling around, updating random parts of the site
(and considering buying a palesaints.co.uk domain, as it's only a
tenner), and came across this link - there's nothing particularly new
there, but it does link to some YouTube videos - which I'll also add
to the site

Yes, yes, yes!
Last year, when I 're-discovered' the band, I was searching for
information on the Internet, and was surprised that there only was so
little.
Your site would have made things much easier for me. ;-)
I came across your 'Shoot The Tulips' section though, which of course
provided some facts about the flexi.
But I couldn't find much about 'What Feet' or 'Diamonds And
Porcupines' or the demo tapes. The web was silent here...
And now it's there, all in one place. Fantastic!

Indeed, and thanks for the warm welcome.
Talk to you soon...

Hi Stefan!
Glad you like what's been done so far - it wouldn't be the site it is
without help from Graeme and Ian though - there's some great things on
there!
This group is pretty quiet, but feel free to talk about things, it's
nice to get chatting about the band - they were great, and have left
some great songs behind too!
Welcome!

Hi there,
just discovered the new site @ sweetfoolthemouth.co.uk.
Great! :-)
I'm from Germany and have been a huge Pale Saints fan in my youth
since the "Barging..." EP. Only saw them once, though (Berlin '92).
Last year I sort of re-discovered the group and played those old
records again.
It's still such wonderful music, and I'm not getting tired of
listening...
(unlike a lot of the other stuff from that era...)
Really looking forward to returning here from time to time.
Bye,
Stefan

Hi Eiliv!
Welcome to the group - funnily enough, there's talk of doing a Pale Saints Best
Of - I'm in
touch with Ian and Graeme, and it's at the very very very early stage, but I do
want it to
happen... we'll see!
The gig list has come on in leaps and bounds just recently, which is good - and
Graeme
keeps finding random cool bits, which I keep adding to the site, so it's slowly
growing - all
good fun!
cheers!

Hello!
I'm Eiliv from Norway, just re-discovered the group.
So I went
searching for a homepage and found this list... The
first album is
really wonderful. Sarching for EPs and singles, are
there any
collections? Good luck with the list and homepage! I
will tell my
friends at other lists (like Comsat Angels and Modern
Eon).
best wishes

hindsight is a beautiful thing!!
I still wonder what they'd have sounded like, and how their sleeves
would have been done, if they'd chosen One Little Indian over 4AD...
could have been interesting...
Oh, I know. It's just seeing that they played on my doorstep so many times....
If I knew then what I know now.... :o)
The Haddon Hall, Royal Park, the Duchess...!

ah but back then, there was no way you could ever imagine the band and
how they sounded, becoming the 4AD band they did - the songs were
there, obviously - but still!
I remember one gig in a pub, in Leeds, with Esmerelda's Kite and The
Savlons, which was particularly mad! (I can't access the site from
work, annoyingly!)...

Apparently with promos of one of the singles, or albums, there was a list of all
the gigs -
which is where this list originates - which is the list Chris Cooper kept of all
the early shows,
for a good couple of years
Err, can't find the gig list...!

Morning, anyway! Have you seen Sebastian's list of gigs? The 1988 ones
amazed me - I was at a LOT of them, and had no idea where on earth I'd
get the actual dates from - they're amazing!! (if you can be amazed by
a gig listing, which, I can!)
Sebastian has put together an AMAZING gigography - covering dates right back to
1988 that
I would never have been able to work out!
So I've just updated and added the info to the main gigs section
just doing this, see if I can set up an RSS feed of the group.
Please feel free to join. I probably wont post much, other than to add updates
to the site.
If you spot anything that should be corrected, please go ahead and let me know
cheers
