MORE REVIEWS
Two new reviews of "Noise For Lovers" are posted at Aiding & Abetting
(http://www.aidabet.com) and Godsend Online
(http://members.evansville.net/tgodsend). Here they are for your reading
pleasure:
Anaphylaxis - "Noise For Lovers"
Chicago-based experimental composer Jason Coffman has quietly released a
number of underground noise/ambient recordings for the past 10-odd years.
This, his 7th full-length release and highest-profiled yet, is an often
hallucinatory ride through surreal dream imagery and dark soundtrack
ambience. The addition of lovely female vocals for added mood, as in "All
Yours", bears a likeness to early His Name Is Alive, while other cuts
feature more prominent electronic rhythms and well-layered dream-drones. A
very fine disc of accessable electronic sounds to soak the head in late at
night or early in the morning.
Anaphylaxis - "Noise for Lovers"
As strange as it might seem, this is, indeed, a seductive noise album. And
not in the "I really like it" kind of seductive, but the, you know,
seductive kind of seductive. Music that might well induce folks of a
certain mindset to get it on. Especially if you're trying headphone sex
(boy, is that trend so 1988). Sly, cool and lots of fun.
AND FINALLY...
After years of being ignored, Anaphylaxis is finally listed in the hallowed
halls (or music landfill, depending on your view) of the All Music Guide
(www.allmusic.com). Not sure what else to say about this except it's about
time.
