Thanks Michael

Very happy about your reaction

And because I forgot to put it in my mail

I'm very very grateful about the songs that were put on audiogalaxy, let
there be no doubt about that. Who ever it was: You made my day then and
even now, because: it may be rather poor quality (there's nothing to do
about that), I play them 5 times a day!!! Sure, very Grateful!

"BASSTRAP" mentioned that on sm.com!! He says, he saw an
interview with Jim Kerr (Black & White magazine), and Kerr
had shaved his head completely!
BASSTRAP means that Kerr´s hair(Edison Award picture) was
a wig.

I REALLY HOPE THAT IS NOT TRUE.

Dear Simon, what do you know about that??

Don't know about anyone else, but I'm getting a bit worried over the
lack of publicity for 'Cry' - surely we should have seen something by
now? After all, these industry heavyweights that were supposed to be
behind the release should realise that greater visibility is needed now
more than ever if the minds are to claw back any sort of fan base
following their disappearance after the debacle that was Neapolis.

Any news of what they've got planned marketing-wise Simon?

(I'm sure I'll be eating my words shortly; which I will be very happy to
do - but rather than wait around to see if the release is going to be a
disaster, I'm sure we could find other ways of helping it along as we've
done so on the radio front.)

Cheers

Although a joke, there has been a few comments about Jim's new hairstyle.

Goto Dream Giver - three new Cry promo pictures. Check out the first page
(with backstage pass) for colour Jim and Charlie shot, then there's a
standing shot in the news section, and a great picture of Jim and Charlie
sprawling over some chairs in the "Promote Cry" section.

All the best,

Must admit, I had to look twice at the pic of Jim & Charlie in the 'news'
section - for some reason, it didn't register right away that it WAS Jim!!!

Looks menacing - wouldn't want to meet him down a dark alley etc etc....

It's a little confusing at the moment.

Just forget about www.simpleminds.org.

And try: www.simple-minds.demon.co.uk/index2.htm (Click on the backstage

Or for brute force, try www.simple-minds.demon.co.uk/contents.htm

Got to say the new hairdo is looking good! Not though it's an
important aspect in terms of the music anyway. But from a new
fan perspective, It will work better than the much shorter style of
'Verona' & 'War Babies' and for that matter the B&W shot of the
whole band from a few months ago. He seems more laid-back,
approachable, fresher and it looks like he's cut down on the
pizza too!
Bravo!

Jim has been recovering from a bad bout of the flu.

The band have been rehearsing without him.

It wasn't considered practical for 7 minutes allocated stage time.

They're saving it for the REAL GIGS.

This comes from a dutch newspaper about the edison awards:

Simple Minds ongoochelen (Simple Minds dissappoint)

Sorry, I haven't got time to translate but in a nutshell: they don't
understand why the band didn't act live!

   Hi
Got to agree, on the lyric side of things. Personally lyrics have
never been the most important aspect of music (to me), that's
typified by liking 'The Cocteau Twins' can't really understand what
Liz Frasier is singing about but it's great music nonetheless!
That said I don't appreciate the likes of Michael Jackson singing
about 'healing the world, making it a better place' when perhaps
some of his funds could go a long way to doing something about
that, instead he piles it into plastic surgery, bribing parents of
young boys with Rolls Royces', mmm shady goings on. At least
integrity & intellect shines through with Jim's lyrics. But
ultimately if you want fantastic lyrics, read a book!

   ta ta for now, Ben...
