I saw Some Girls last night at the Knitting Factory and was really disappointed.
Maybe I shouldn't have made this assumption, but since they only have one album
out, I expected to hear some of Juliana's solo stuff as well as material from
Feel It, of course. In fact they didn't play anything from Juliana's solo
albums, so I was pretty disappointed. Also, for some reason Juliana insisted on
attempting guitar solos in practically every song and, let's be honest here,
she's a rudimentary soloist, at best. To be clear, I think she's a great
songwriter, lyricist and vocalist and she's a pretty solid rhythm guitarist as
well but she's no guitar hero and I don't understand why she feels compelled to
solo when she clearly doesn't know what she's doing when it comes to lead
guitar.
