Ok I was thinking . I am originally from the East coast and much more used to the East coat sccene. Her is what I was thinking. Every month in Jersey NY or Philly the do what is called a Dracula's ball. This is not A strictly Vampirething but much more a huh costume type event . yes any show up in black and fangs. I wanted to know does anyone thin that we could start something like his . A oce a month ostmue type ball. Between rockabilly goth TC I think this is a idea that can grow to large group and be a ton of fun.
Itjust seems to e there are so may scenes out here yet not a very lage scene with a theme.
If anyone would like to try an put something like this together pease contac me directly and lets see if we can get something stared.
I kno this is a 7 ay a week 24 hour town but I would think Friday or Saturday would be best yet I am open to suggestions.
I am still on th mailing list fr the east coast if anyone would like can send a few emails fro the east coast groups a references to how they do things.
Thank You for listening!

As one of the mods, I will refrain from the snarky post and give you some
vectors for meeting folks in Vegas.
. swing dancing twice a month, friday nights at the Aruba Hotel
. http://www.meetin.org/
. http://www.meetup.com/ (though participation is down since they started
charging group organizers to use the site)
. the alternative newsweeklies for other ideas:
http://www.lasvegasmercury.com/http://www.lasvegasweekly.com/http://www.lasvegascitylife.com/
If you are looking for shows/concerts, your best option is to check out the
alternative newsweeklies (links are above) and search pollstar.com.
Off the top of my head, Divebar and The Double Down may be of interest.
YMMV - HTH!
Hello to all my kool kats and divine dolls ! My name is Heather aka
Vegas Angel. I am 31 and live in Las Vegas. I am looking to meet new
friends ( or a sexy Greaser boyfriend : ) )and get together to do
things together. I do not know how to swing dance, but would be a
willing partner. I was at Viva Las Vegas this year and had a blast ! It
would be neat to hang with folks that are into the same jive that I am.
Please contact me !
Hi I am Stuart and I am moving to Vegas soon. Looking for a band to

If yer planning on comin to The Mobtown Greaseball
...And ya SHOULD be!!!
Greetings all!
Okay Yer ol pal Uncle Fezter and other Karb Kings have been receiving all kinds of comments and questions about this years Greaseball from folks across the country who wanna come out for it.
Because the response and reaction- especially to the music line-up has been so enthusiastic and because so many friends are planning on coming out, Charity Von Suite has been bustin her buns to negotiate with nearby hotels to get discounted rates on blocks of rooms for that weekend.
Now if ya dont know about the Greaseball-
This is the 11th year of the show. Besides a coupla hundred Pre-1969 cars & Rods, theres a Pin-Up Contest, Door Prizes, Trophies, food, Booze, and the usual kinda good time just goes hand-in-hand with Karb Kings events.
Oh And have ya heard about the band line-upS?
Well, heres a partial list:
Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys
The Sun Demons
Ramblin James and The Billyboppers
The Garnet Hearts
The Droptops
The Stumbleweeds
Karling Abbygate
J.P. McDermott & Western Bop
The Ultra Kings
Two Tone Tony and the Carburator Cats
Ron Scotts Four Star Combo
- And more!
More info, flyers, & such can be found on the myspace pages of yours truly
So if yer plannin on comin out, heres what we need from you Please contact Charity www.myspace.com/charityvonsuiteor Uncle Fezter www.myspace.com/unclefezterand let us know who ya are, and how many rooms ya need or want. Well use that info to help nail down the number of rooms we block, and negotiate a better deal. Once we seal the deal, we can contact those on the list we got responses from first, and give you the discount/event code.
We want you all to come out for whats gonna be one helluva fun weekend, and were workin hard to save ya a few bucks in the process.
So if ya want a room or rooms, drop me a line by July First, or as Big Sandyd say contact Charity and
LET HER KNOW!
Thanks all, and I look forward to seein ya in September.

Repost from Marc Mencher:
Hello Friends and Family- please pardon this intrusion but I felt
compelled to send this message. I ask you to forward it on if it is
anything you have interest in. If not- delete it- or let me know and
I'll never have a message sent to you again.
As many of you know, I worked in cooperation with Oneida Casino in
Green Bay Wisconsin, America... to Produce Rockin' 50s Fest 1-2 and
3. Ihave spoken with my partner at Oneida, Phil Doran, in great
length. As you may know we NEVER set out to create an annual/bi
annual- or repeating event of any sort. In 2002 we were all truly
blessed by the event that happened at Oneida in July that year.
Indeed history was made. And the feeling we all went away with was
overwhelmingly positive and strong. The Casino wanted us to do it
again- so we did in 2005 and then again in 2007- each time- always
thinking "this is it... last time".
SO- regarding Rockin' 50s fest and a 4th edition- there are currently
zero plans. The casino is in full gear- Phil like a mad genius
booking every major star with any musical relevance from Willie
Nelson to George Jones to Dionne Warwick and Brian Setzer, as well
lessor established musical groups that have captured his ears.
Meanwhile, I am off to Italy and Spain for festivals I am working on
and then back home focusing on Sean Mencher's career (just sponsored
by Gretsch Guitars) as well as my upcoming shows with The Crickets-
The Collins Kids and Slim Jim Phantom..
BUT- when PHIL and I saw this petition last week being circulated by
people asking for the Fest to live and happen again, we both were-
humbled and thrilled. I can not say now we will do it again, but I
can say we have discussed it since seeing this petition and the
general feeling is with a few thousand signatures we may get some
fuel in the tank - see how far down the line this hot rod can get...
However, if the petition stalls with a mere 400-500 signatures, the
festival will surely not happen again and live on only in our
memories.
At this time, I remain hopeful.
THE Petition has zero to due with me or Oneida- we were shocked- and
thrilled -when it arrived in my inbox from - Bobby Crawford in
Texas...we're honored and hopefully- with a few thousand signatures-
that's what it will take- we will all ROCK again in Green Bay!!
Please feel MOST WELCOME TO email the world the following:
PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION!!

Thank you!

Action Packed Events
Repost from David Loehr:
Regretfully I have decided that I have to cancel the 2008 Rockabilly
Rebel Weekend.
Slow advance ticket sales, the economy and gas prices have led to this
decision. The expense of putting this event on is quite large and with
only 6 weeks left, I could easily loose several thousand dollars and
cannot take that risk.
We'll see what transpires for next year, otherwise this could be the
end of an era. This has been a very hard decision for me to make.
Anyone who has purchased tickets, placed an Ad in the program booklet
or reserved a Vendor Space will receive a refund.
Please accept my apologies for any inconveniences this may have caused.
David Loehr
The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting enough people to click
on it daily to meet their quota of getting free food donated every day
to abused and neglected animals. It takes less than a minute to go to
their site and click on "feed an animal in need" for free. It's in a
purple box in the middle of the page.
This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use
the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected
animals in exchange for advertising. Here's the web site! Pass it along
to people you know.

No need for a babysitter, kids under ten get in free. EMTs do as well.
The league has expanded, adding two new home teams which will face off
for the first time this Saturday night. They're keeping the team names
quiet until the bout, but let's just say they're kind of "old Vegas"
vs "new Vegas." I suspect I'd know which team you'd be rooting for.
New skaters include Kelvikta the Blade from the Swing Shift Side Show
(she swallows swords AND was a speed skater!), Maybelline from the
Denver Roller Dolls, HeatherFace from the Mid-Iowa Rollers and Lali
Pop from the Bay City Bombers and San Diego Firebirds. Aside from them
and our vets, keep an eye out for Black Belt Betty. I have never seen
someone learn to skate derby that well so quickly.
6:30 Tailgate party and car show, hosted by the Knuckledraggers. I've
seen it also posted a time or two as 6:00 PM.
7:00 Doors open, get there early, get some good seats. If you sit up
front, you could wind up with a rollergirl in your lap. Unlike a
baseball game, you'll have to give her back.
8:00 Bout begins
Roller derby legend (and Vegas local) Frankie Macedo (L.A. T-Birds,
Team Canada and many other teams from the late 50s to the mid-80s)
will be singing a bit of Sinatra to warm up the crowd. Frankie's a
hella nice guy, and I have read he was one of the scoringest jammers
out there.
Babes in Sin will be performing some clothed-enough-for-kids-to-attend
burlesque at halftime.
As the grand finale, we'll have the Klash of the Kings. I kid you not,
some Elvis vs. Elvis action.
Some time around the year 2000 there used to be a true
oldies/rockabilly station on the AM dial, it went by the name "Cruisin
Oldies" and the play list was fantastic. One day I went to tune in and
to my disbelief it had been replaced by baseball commentary. 'Thanks'.
I've always wished that something like that would come back on the AM
dial. (Who needs FM Stereo for all those old recordings anyways?)
