News and views from the Sisters in Jazz community. Sisters in Jazz is a mentoring program for women in the jazz field.

In the decade from 1998-2008, the International Association for Jazz Education (IAJE) sponsored an annual Sisters in Jazz Collegiate Competition, in which full-time women music students from anywhere in the world competed for an all-expenses paid career-building opportunity to perform for thousands of top professionals in the jazz field at the annual conference and receive mentoring from women artists. The groups also performed at the Mary Lou Williams Women in Jazz Festival at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., in Europe, and elsewhere.
