Re: [skeeter] Cold Case 1963

Doug, although I feel Ralph is deserving of a HOF placement, I truly believe Skeeter should have been in there years ago. I would love to see Skeeter's life story become a film (even a TV movie, The Dottie West Story that was done for TV was really great,Michelle lee was wonderful as Dottie! The Tammy Wynette "Stand By Your Man" was horrible!). I am really happy about the Grand Ol' Opry DVD's with Skeeter on them. Are the any other movies available with Skeeter in them? I am still working on my Skeeter Lp collection (I still need "I Love Flatt & Scruggs", "Mary Frances", "It's Hard To Be A Woman', "The Versatile Skeeter Davis", "Skeeter Davis & Warner Mack" and "The Best of Skeeter Davis & Sandy Posey") after I get these I will have all her vinyl Lp's (at least the ones I know about!). I was lucky enough this year to find a copy of "Heartstrings" on Ebay (I won it on Betty Jack's birthday!). Happy Thanksgiving everyone, Randy. PS: I have a Skeeter Yahoo group, too! it's called RememberingSkeeterDavis, please join!

Larry,

I agree with you man….

Skeeter will continue to take an unhinged place in the
hearts of her fans, both steadfast and fans to come.
Myself, I have recently got back my desire to eat
after learning of Ralph’s induction into the Hall of
Shame.

I missed the show "Cold Case" but on the subject of
1963, and the major influence Ms. Skeeter played in
that year, we see a lot of significant acts in that
year which supports “The End of the World” as being
the definitive song of 1963.

1. The death of Patsy Cline.
2. The death of John F. Kennedy.
3. The start of the war in Viet Nam.

Just to name a few.

However, one day I am certain, “Bus Fair to Kentucky”
will get the proper screenplay it deserves and the
world will know what a miracle the life of Skeeter
Davis really was. I will keep encouraging Skeeterfans
to read this book and see the consistent pattern of
miracles in the life of this simple sweet “Hillbilly”
singer.

Rest assured one day her story will be told and her
little army of friends can now take solace that we
helped keep her flame alive.

Doug
