I have all file permissions set for any member to upload and download
files freely.
I tested downloading files and had no difficulty.
Please post details (on or off list to me) about what kind of error
messages you might be getting.  If I can't figure out the trouble,
I'll contact support.
I did set up the restricted memberships so we could stop the porn
that started the idea of a new group in the first place.
Once we get settled in some, I plan to set up a second person with
owner priviliges so that we won't run into the same problems with a
disappearing group owner in the future.  Not that I plan on
abandoning you!
Hopefully things will get easier soon...

Well, Tony, go to a group that you own and look into the settings that can
be edited. One of them involves downloading. Since Belinda made a big deal
of setting this group up with "restricted" memberships (that have to be
approved), it's reasonable to assume that she left some of the other
restrictions in place as well. I think all we need to resolve this is to
locate the group owner.......but then wasn't that the problem with the
maryfrancis group in the first place? :<{

I just don't understand why we're having so much trouble

I know that we are all getting flustered here, and it is frustrating
to be so close to something that you want, but yet so far.  I am a
novice to this thing, so I have to wait like everyone else until it

Kazaa hasn't gone the way of Audiogalaxy.

One thing for Belinda to check is whether she has allowed file access
for downloading. It may be necessary to edit the settings that only

Same here, Nola, but I think it's just a yahoo thing. They frequently become
unavailable and I've not figured out why. May be volume of users,
maintenance work yahoo is doing, or any number of reasons. But patience
always pays off. Just keep trying. Eventually they should work, just maybe
not today.

I can't get any of the files downloaded either.  When my password and
username are asked for and I put them in, the prompt still keeps
coming up and I get nothing.

It's not hard to upload a song. Go to the files section of 'skeeter' and
click on the link that says 'add file'. Then click on 'browse' and it will
open up a window on your computer. Navigate to where you have the file
located on your computer and click on the song file. The rest is automatic.

It takes a little longer to upload a file than it does to download one. I
have dialup and it takes five minutes or more to upload a 3 megabyte song. I
hope this helps. If you have other questions, just ask.

Nola, are you trying to download from the website or from the email? I've
found that I can't download from the email anymore (unless I'm already
logged in at the website) but downloading from the website almost always
works just fine.
