I missed Slainte Mhath at Milwaukee Irish Fest! I was there for half
of Saturday and all of Sunday, but was totally unprepared cuz I had
just found out about the fest cuz I was cranking a Danu CD in our
store and a customer came in and told me about the Fest. So I went
not knowing who to see and not see and mostly just floundered around
stumbling on bands. Someone at a CD store at the Fest told me to buy
VA and I was skeptical when I found out they were on the rock stage.
Turned out I was wrong cuz this fusion sound is very good; now I wish
I had seen them.
I saw many other great artists-- Navan (Gaelic a capella choral-
style), Flook (flute freaks!), Pipline (folk songs meets pipes),
Chris Robertson (harp), and other great traditional ensembles. It was
a pretty amazing event and I'm a Celtic music fanatic now. =--==-=-
