On Friday night I took the long 2 hour drive to Elgin, IL to see the Cherish
The Ladies concert. It was well worth it and really got people in the
Christmas spirit. They play traditional Irish music and have just released
a
Christmas CD called "On Christmas Night." As soon as I heard the CD a few
weeks ago,
I new it was magical. However, I also thought it was for obscure tastes and
was therefore surprised to hear that it had been made the "best Christmas CD"
lists of three major newspapers including the New York Times! A lot of the
credit has to go to the sweet voice of lead vocalist Heidi Talbot. The
traditional Irish arrangements are excellent. Here's the remaining dates on
the
Christmas tour, as well as some dates from next year if you just like Irish
music.
