SNCL RELEASES:

narwhal - s/t 7" : london's screamy emo meisters deliver 3 tunes of
searing emotive hc, this is clearly one for those reared on closure
and portraits of past, when screaming all over your music didn't
instantly mean you sounded like orchid. it all starts here.

reds - is:means 12" lp : one of the best emo records of the past few
years if i do say myself. powerful, personal / political music, not
sounding particularly like any past band but sure to appeal to anyone
into mike kirsch, life at these speeds, yaphet kotto and sinaloa. killer.

shermer / the machines will take over split 10" : both bands bring the
beard as they gruff their way through two top notch sides of melodic
hardcore / punk, playing at the rawer end of the hot water music /
small brown bike spectrum. you will grow a beard just listening to
this. aces!

NEW JAMS:

Bill Bondsmen - s/t 7" - angry, powerful, fast hardcore ponk rock.
RIPPING.

Brutal Knights - the Pleasure is All Thine 12" - punk rock. that
describes this. punk fucking rock.

Criminal Damage - s/t 12 - brawling, pretense free, traditional punk
rock that will appeal to anyone who has stomped around to no hope for
the kids.

Damaged Goods - Outta Here : 7" - seriously catchy punk rock, rough
around the edges to not be called pop punk mind you. good shit!

Fashion! Fashion! and the Image Boys - Over Before It Ever Began 7" -
4 tracks of face pummelling, yet still tuneful, punk. great snarly
vocals. i like this a lot.

Functional Blackouts / Fashion Fashion and the Image Boys - split 7" -
if you heard that functional blackouts lp you'll probably want this.
skewed punk rock for those who are not entirely happy with life. FFIB
punk energetically through their side in a snarly garage fashion a la
carbonas etc...

Gorilla Angreb - s/t : cd - 17 punk rock songs from 6 different
releases all in one handy cd. gorilla angreb (literally: aggressive
gorilla) are quite popular and this cd explains why. good punx!

Hey Colossus - II : kunal said: "The typical lazy journo's description
of this mob (featuring ex-members of quieter acts such as Yeast,
Stanton, I'm Being Good and Econoline) combines Black Sabbath and Can,
and being your typical lazy journo, I can't think of a better
description."

Honor Role - 1982 7" - rough, ready and in the raw, hardcore from 1982.

Koro - 700 Club 7" - 8 songs, all very fast, all very short. fast,
nutso hardcore that was originally released many moons ago. shit hot.

Mesa Verde - Amor Fati : 4 songs of post rock flecked, melodic screamo
from these scottish hellraisers who pay homage to the likes of envy,
city of caterpillar and welcome the plague year. intense and a pretty
damn fine take on the style, replete with drop outs, build ups and
tonnes of crying and screaming.

Raised by Wolves - s/t 7" - this smokes! the eponymous track is just
totally frantic and off kilter garage punk rock with distortion,
keyboards and a lot of mess. wowser. the other 2 songs slow it down a
bit but hey, it's more than worthy of your time if you are rock n roll
enuff.

River City Tanlines - all the 7 inches... 12" - new-wavey punk rock
right here, with female vocals. compiles some oop and throws in some
unreleased stuff too. check out the mp3s, they do a better job than i
can of describing the band.

Stolen Bikes Ride Faster - Nothing Has Changed : cdep - 6 track ep
from this italian band, who play fast and emotive melodic punk / hc,
stuff that will appeal to people who like stuff like milloy, the
machines will take over and the leif erricson. good uns.

Tar... Feathers - s/t 12" - this is inventive indie rock from sweden
that should be in the rotation of people who enjoy joan of arc, owls
and meneguar. it's just kinda, quirky but in a very listenable way.
great vocals and flowing music. check it out.

the Busy Signals - Can't Feel A Thing 7" - more of that free wheeling
garagey punk rock. kick ass catchy tunes delivered with sweat and
energy. wahoo.

the Carbonas - s/t : 12" lp - flailing, spitting, drinking, posing,
pogoing, garagey punk rock. delivered with little regard for
instrumentation or skill or much else really. simple, straight forward
and entirely a kick ass listen. they've been compared to zero boys if
that's any use to ya.

the Observers - Walk Alone 7" - 3 songs by the observers, they do punk
rock in an old fashioned type of way. they were really quite good.

Viva L'American Death Ray Music - Bombs 7" - uh oh. 1 side is
completely deranged no-wave type punk here. scary. the other is post
punk and a little easier on the psyche.

the Conversions / Witches With Dicks - split 7" - i am sure the band
Witches With Dicks is very sorry about their name, luckily they don't
have to apologise for their music which is super melodic punk like
Rivethead / Dillinger 4, definitely one of the better takes on this
sound i have heard lately. the Conversions are fast and shouty angry punk.

Young Wasteners - s/t 7" - this has songs called 'waiting', 'code
red', 'who to be', 'self allowed'. it is on hjernespind records. punk.

PREVIOUS UPDATE:

Army of Flying Robots - Discography : cd - well well well, the army of
flying roobots have touched down with this 13 track detonation of a
discography, show casing their blistering sound. ROAR! i saw their
first show you know, total witching hour wannabees back then...

Birdsting - s/t : cdep - 5 songs of dead on indie rock that's a notch
above! kicking around in the superchunk / dinosaur jr / beezewax
sandpit. recommended.

Church of the Saturday Saints - Longboarder 7"- kind of rumbleseat
style acousti-punk! neato!

Dead End Boys - Boys in the City 7"7 songs of raucous punk rock from
the streets of Baltimore. punk, fucking punk! get a mohawk, start a
fight, oi oi!

Duchess of Saigon - s/t 7" - shambling garagey pop / rock / arty punk
with some Beach Boys vocals / harmonies thrown in to confuse the issue
even more.

Hot Cops - Taking Hearts & Breaking Names 7" - quality pop punk with
an indie rock (superchunk, dinosaur jr) edge.

Kitty & the Manges - s/t 7" - the manges have been around for a
bajillion years, and here they have guest vocals from kitty kowalski,
and dish up 3 tracks of super pop punk.

Mitsuko - Questions Will Be Asked : cdep - song cdep of poppy /
electronic indie with monotone spoken vocals and singing.

Police & Thieves - s/t 7" - mix up Light the Fuse and Run with some
rocking harDCore and you have Police & Thieves. 4 songs, all kicking arse.

Roil - Mother's Day 10" : rough and ready melodic punk rock, like
jawbreaker and leatherface. very cool! this is from 1993 or 1996 it seems!

Snuggle / Whiskey Sunday - split 7" - Snuggle drive through 2 snotty
melodic punk corkers, that will suit the ears of people who get drunk
to their Grabass Charlestons records. Whiskey Sunday are raw vocalled
(as the cliche goes - 'whiskey soaked') Leatherface style punkers.

Teenage Bottlerocket / Prototipes - split 7" - Teenage Bottle Rocket
hark back to the days when loads of bands wanted to sound like the
Ramones. throw backs! Prototipes are power pop / pop punk and deadly
tuneful.

the Anxieties - The De-Evolution Will Be Televised 7" - pogoing punk
rock, with spazzy vocals. kinda like a more sane darvocets and without
the ufo fixation. includes a motorhead cover.

the Apers / Sonic Dolls - split 7" - holy catchiness batmen! the Apers
are insanely catchy, like the Ergs and all that other catchy pop punk
shit you've been listening to when the some comes out. the Sonic Dolls
power through the other side in a more rocking fashion with buzzing
guitars and fizzing energy.

the Copyrights - Button Smasher 7" - man man, super rocking ergs meets
pinhead gunpowder style pop punk!! get in!

the Four Eyes - Rock & Role Playing : cd - catchy nerdy pop punk
mixing up the dead milkmen, descendents, ergs and bananas. that'd be
some kind of milk shake!

the Varsity Weirdos - Fly Me Up to the Moon 7" - more Ramones-ey style
punk from these canadian guys.

Popsters - the scene 7" - you could probably guess from the name that
these guys are quite poppy. they do melodic punk that i'd compare to
Grabass Charlestons, and they play it dead well. good uns!

Whiskey Sunday / the Saint Catherines - split 7" - woahs, the St.
Catherines kick raging punky tunes out, forging a path between
Leatherface and Dillinger 4. Whiskey Sunday drop some similarily
Leatherface inspired anthems on their side.

Zatopeks - Smile or Move 7" - these london pop punkers carry a good
tune and mix it a modern sound with some of the undertones. solid stuff.
