and so i got a bunch more records in, it's a fairly diverse selection
of things but i don't have many copies of each item so pick through it
and see if there is anything you are after.
if i am out of the copies of stuff by a cool band, the chances are
that you will like a record by a less cool band as some of them fit
well together. woo.
my distro box is really full.
thanks!
take care,
andy

some politcised lyrics. really hard hitting metal / heavy hardcore
with an emo edge to it. fits with stuff like the nineteen of salem.
green vinyl (3 copies, £2.50)
_______________________________
step forward look west - body disposal 7" - same label as the lapis
sanctuary and again it has really elaborate packaging. 10 tracks of
ferociously fast violence n hardcore. yelled vocals and a lot of
rumble. this tears! (3 copies, £2.50)
_______________________________
dance disaster movemet - we are from nowhere 12" - this is some weird
no wave shit on dim mak. it is just a mid-paced funk/groove thing with
a track called 'i want your sass' where the guy moans 'i want your
sass' all the time. sassfactor 10 mr sulu. DANCEABLE AS FUCK, one for
uber-hipsters everywhere. i hate myself for liking this. next thing
you know i am gonna be distroing all that shit on troubleman. latter
day clikatat ikatowi (i.e. river of souls) crossed with all kinds of
shit i don't a thing about. this is superb! but don't buy it unless
you know what you are getting yourself in for (2 copies, £6)
_______________________________
mara'akate 12" - these guys have come along way from being a generic
screamo band. now they a spazzed out ridiculous band sound like early
racebannon with the dance gene inserted into their faces. truly fun.
this plays the same both sides, so you aren't getting a full album.
(£6, 2 copies)
_______________________________
the romance morgue demo cd - i think these guys are ex-every trendy
indiana screamo/emoviolence band ever. their website was awesome. this
is 5 tracks of stuff which is kind of a natural progression from
screamo. it's fast, yelled, out of control rock music type stuff, i
reckon they have some slowed down usurp riffs in there. fits well with
plot to blow up the eiffel tower i'd say. (3 copies, £5)
_______________________________
the dispensing of false haloes - with prayers and a scalpel cd -
popular with the US screamo kids right now, this is some hard hitting
screamo with harsh vocals, kind of like a slower early orchid with emo
bits. my descriptions are getting worse! (3 copies, £6.50)
_______________________________
ravelin 7 - circle is our way cd - i think these guys are from the
czech repulbic! more hard to describe stuff, i have so much hard to
describe stuff in this week. they've catchy, keyboards. prominent
basslines and rocking guitars with urgent vocals. who'd have thought
they sassed in the czech republic? (3 copies, £6.50)
_______________________________
fiver fingers, half a hand cd - this has packaging that you'll never
fit in your cd shelf so if you are neat for neats sake, avoid. anyway,
this is rather cool! melodic but with very screamed vocals. not dark
melodies like yaphet or something, perhaps more like spirit of
versailles, the guitars are pretty clean and jangly, but it works
really well. it soars, the booklet comes with lots of words and
explanations, neat. i like this a whole lot. sincere, straight up, no
bullshit. best thing i got from stickfigure this time out(3 copies, £3.50)
_______________________________
v/a - first crush comp cd - this has all kinds of indie rock and pop
punk on it, plus stuff from i hate myself, still life, mineral, one
car pile up (!) and JIMMY EATS FUCKING WORLD. you'll all want it now,
i know you all loved them. (4 copies, £6.50)

the suburban kid / slingshot idol split 7" - black and white vinyl
here! neat. anyway, this is norwegian hardcore stuff. suburban kid is
chunky, thick and melodic/groovin' at times with angry vocals like a
simpler jr ewing. good uns. slingshot idol get their sass on with a
booty shaking sound reminiscent of san diego things like holy molar or
the swing kids or whatever. they have one of those nya nya nya
vocalists who wears a white belt and waves his hand in the air i bet.
(4 copies, £2.75)
_______________________________
the spectacle 10" - crikey. this comes with a massive booklet and even
some 3d glasses! pummelling norwegian hardcore with metal leanings for
those that dig that sort of thing, and those that like to read. ROAR.
(5 copies, £6.50)
_______________________________
v/a - satellites & clouds comp cd - 16 track comp of all kinds of
stuff! includes bands like jet johnson, disoma, econoline and ann
arbor. electronica, post-rock and indie stuff mainly. check it out if

emo sound. energetic, melodic, in the style of Current / Still Life.

(4 copies, £5.75)
_______________________________
city of caterpillar demo/live 12" - found another copy. (1 copy, £6)

of it screamed, some of it song. lots of melody, very good.
recommended for those who like to read lyrics. (£7, 1 copies)
_______________________________
aleatoric - forever yours 7" - harsh, metallic stuff with very screamy
vocals and some more melodic / sung parts. too metal to be considered
screamo. (£2.50 - 2 copies)
_______________________________
examination of the... mcd - lady in the radiator - more noise from

technical and brutal then their debut. it's scary metal/hardcore with
screamed vocals (2 copies, £6.50)

Mineral and that kind of 1997 style. whiney vox and jangly guitars.
(£5.50, 3 copies)
_______________________________
seein' red / the now denial split 7" - seein' red, you're probably
familiar with their brand of hardcore. the now denial sit on the other
side playing modern, rocking hardcore that fits with stuff like early
jr ewing but less crazy. (£3, 2 copies)
_______________________________
running on empty zine - neat little zine from a chap called jon who
buys a bunch of stuff from me. enthusiastic stuff focusing on music
with reviews and interviews of ignition label / distro, slingshot
round the moon and a couple of others. (50p, 4 copies)
_______________________________
apoplexy twist orchestra / louise cyphre 10" - the germans still love
their emo violence! one band on here sounds very orchid-esque, the
other is a bit more spastic, interspersing usurp / perry style fits
with awesome emo parts. i like this band more but i can't work out who
is who right now. sexy thick yellow vinyl and nice packaging. (£6.25,
1 copies)
_______________________________
ivich / jasemine 7" - believe it! i forgot i ordered these. jasemine
is all-time french emo. ivich is some band on the other side. (£3, 1
copies)
_______________________________
hablan por espalda 12" - interesting mix of hardcore / emo / punk,
half of this brings to mind things like Song of Zarathustra and
Transistor Transistor - very catchy and danceable. the other half is
more punk rock, like Rights Reserved. hard to put a finger on it. this
band is from uruguay of all places! great record. (£8.50 3 copies)
_______________________________
oliver twist - new tricks LP - quirky German indie rock, danceable but
offbeat. mixes faster Modest Mouse with other stuff. X-Mist says:
"while on their previous releases comparisons to CHISEL and/or ROBOCOP
KRAUS were evident, on this great new record they sound more like a
young, fresh and non-predictable version of bands like LIFTER PULLER
or LES SAVY FAV!" (2 copies, £7.50)
_______________________________
Wheels - s/t 7" - a pair of tracks from these Lunduners! Jellyed eels
ahoy as they crash through some melodic hardcore that brings to mind
bands like Dead Inside, Jehu and even Party of Helicopters. smart! (1

of the amber inn's. (1 copies, £3)

bit more melodic. very cool! (£5 - 4 copies)
_______________________________
