howdy ho pardners,
first up - apologies to people waiting for stuff, i have been
housebound since last friday with killer-death-argh plague and haven't
even opened your letters let alone put things in packets then crawled
up to the post office. i hope to try a visit tomorrow, but if not
definitely on saturday. anyway, whilst you are waiting, why not order
even more records! if you have already sent me money do let me know, i
can even send any new ones out with your order and you can just send
me a cheque then - my way of saying sorry for the delay.
cheers,
andy

five fingers half a hand cd - you all wanted this last time so you all
better still want it! this is some of the best screamy emo i have
heard in years, it is a mix up of stuff like portrait and spirit of
versaille with ultra cool twinkly / clean stuff. top notch, crazy
packaging and damn cheap (8 copies, £4)
_______________________________
ten grand / mike lust split 7" - here's some more. ten grand used to
be called the vida blue. emo vs no wave. (4 copies, £3)
_______________________________
one step shift - chemical burn 7" - wow, when i saw this 7" i had no
idea how it would sound. this is absolutely amazing, original sounding
mathy emo that i guess on side a is vaguely like native nod crossed
with 400 years. on side b it comes across like some of the melodic
post mid 90's emo stuff before turning into a party of helicopters
style rock out. yet another of those things that i wish i had got more
copies of, i will investigate the possibility of picking up more
because if you like emo you need a copy (2 copies, £2.50)
_______________________________
heroin - gravity 7" - hmm, just a single copy here (1 copy, £3)
_______________________________
infiltration zine - the zine about going places you're not supposed to
go. i heart infiltration. this issue: twin cities spectacular. (£1, 4
copies)
_______________________________
measles mumps rubella 7" - was pretty sure this was going to be
trendy, you can tell by a bands name you know. anyway this is that
arty post-punk stuff with frantic vocals and lots of tight trousers
and posturing. troubleman / gsl lovers apply within. purple vinyl. (3
copies, £2.50)
_______________________________
saddest landscape 7" - couple more copies of this uber emo gem. ex
last 40 seconds play mid 90's emo to the max. (2 copies, £2.50)
_______________________________
french connection mcd - 5 tracks of urgent/screamy emo, mixing up some
Yaphet Kotto / Vida Blue with a more modern sound e.g. Transistor
Transistor (£3.25 4 copies)
_______________________________
haymarket riot / figuritas - split 7" - haymarket play energetic DC
rock / post hardcore, with more melodic bits that remind me of Braid.
Figuritas are also lurking in the DC ballpark with some tightly wound
rock action that is big on the groove. if you like that style this
should be well up your street (£2.50, 3 copies)
_______________________________
explosions in the sky - those who tell the truth shall die cd - 50
minutes of atmospheric instrumental. they don't sound like godspeed.
lots of pretty guitar parts before they build up. i guess it's more
like mogwai in a way. (1 copy, £7.50)
_______________________________
true north - nightlife 12" - this is so weird because the label is
enormous and the record just comes in a plastic bag. bizarre. anywaw,
i had heard this was supposed to suck or something, if someone told
you that they got it wrong. i guess it's kind of like 12 hour turn
sounded before they went wrong, but slightly more straight up hardcore
like strikeforce diablo. diem's vocals are still amazing. 5 songs. (4
copies, £6)
_______________________________
khayembii communiqe / the vida blue split 10" - still the first press
here, on blue. sexy. khayembii's songs on this are amazing (3 copies,
£5.75)
_______________________________
breathing walker 12" - moss icon side project where they all become
doped up hippies and played jam session versions of moss icon songs
plus a couple of originals. here jon rant about elephants. it's better
than my description. (1 copy, £4)

black eyes 12" - these guys are so hip that they will still be walking
without aid of a frame well into the 23rd century (2 copies, £7)

daddy, it's the new party of helicopters. i'm getting more, don't
worry (2 copies, £6)
_______________________________
montcalm / dead seraphim split 12" - two bands on a record doing
screamo. RAA! montcalm have an ex-member of last 40 seconds, and are
sort of in that style but play really fast with a mohinder type guitar
sound. dead seraphim are more late 90's with a harsher vocalist. (2
copies, £6)
_______________________________
ultra dolphins mcd - wow, this so cool! they have a great name too. i
have no idea what they are doing, but it is a mix of super melodic and
catchy rock music (party of helicopters style) with sassy and screamy
emo bits, the guy has just got the most amazing agonised high pitch
scream ever. this cd oozes rock fun and is as fresh as a daisy, these
guys aren't bagging on the latest trend. limited to 250. woo. (2
copies, £5.50)

with elements of stuff like eurich. wow. this will crush your face. (1

potomac - synaptic syntax error - spastastic euro screamy hardcore on
white/blue/black splattered vinyl. it's pretty rampant and fast, and
barely in control. earlier jr ewing crossed with pg99 crossed with
something else (2 copies, £7)
_______________________________
raein cd - mid paced screamy emo from italy. there are 8 tracks and is
a bit like the earlier you and i sound mixed with some crunchier
ebullition stuff. neat. (£4.50, 2 copies)
_______________________________
dosage & usage 7" - i am sorry this is expensive. anyways, this is a
band with an ex-member of Makara playing sassy San Diego rock music. i
have some pins and stickers to, and will throw these in with the first
few orders. (5 copies, £4)
_______________________________
superchunk - on the mouth 12" - oops, i bought this by mistake,

the lapis sanctuary 7" - this has really thick card packaging. and
some politcised lyrics. really hard hitting metal / heavy hardcore
with an emo edge to it. fits with stuff like the nineteen of salem.
green vinyl (1 copies, £2.50)
_______________________________
ravelin 7 - circle is our way cd - i think these guys are from the
czech repulbic! more hard to describe stuff, i have so much hard to
describe stuff in this week. they've catchy, keyboards. prominent
basslines and rocking guitars with urgent vocals. who'd have thought
they sassed in the czech republic? (2 copies, £6.50)
_______________________________

hablan por espalda 12" - interesting mix of hardcore / emo / punk,
half of this brings to mind things like Song of Zarathustra and
Transistor Transistor - very catchy and danceable. the other half is
more punk rock, like Rights Reserved. hard to put a finger on it. this
band is from uruguay of all places! great record. (£8.50 3 copies)
_______________________________
oliver twist - new tricks LP - quirky German indie rock, danceable but
offbeat. mixes faster Modest Mouse with other stuff. X-Mist says:
"while on their previous releases comparisons to CHISEL and/or ROBOCOP
KRAUS were evident, on this great new record they sound more like a
young, fresh and non-predictable version of bands like LIFTER PULLER
or LES SAVY FAV!" (2 copies, £7.50)
_______________________________
limpwrist 12" - raa! total hardcore from these puffs! or something!
this is fantastic and pretty cheap too. this is the version on la vida
es un mus (1 copies, £5.50)
_______________________________
semionaside / the host sepia + nimbuscloud - smart electronica split
12", the host sepia features tim from soon the darkness! no screamo
