joshua fit for battle 12" : 8 tracks compiling releases from '98 and
'99 by this top notch emo violence band. no metal, all emo - an
example of how bands used to play this stuff properly. purpley grey
swirly vinyl, plays inside out and packaging even looks like a proper
DIY emo record. ooh! fuck 'screamo' metal bands and production values
(5 copies, £6.25)

wafflehouse* - olympia cd : wafflehouse* (don't forget the star) play
that post-cap'n jazz style spazzy indie rock, with lots of melodic and
complex guitars playing off against 2 or 3 boys yelling and 'singing'.
you don't really hear this style that much these days. good fun. (2

anasarca - discography 12" : essential mid 90's emo. this lp collects
their discography. (4 copies, £7.50)

amanda woodward 7" : 3 tracks of mid-paced screamy french emo, then
again, all french emo is screamy so i would not expect anything less.
really good, i prefer this to their last release, though i think it
shares a song (4 copies, £3)

light the fuse and run 7" : back in stock. my favourite melodic
hardcore band. more energy than the lucozade factory. former members
of alfonsin style stuff, this is one the best 7" of recent times. (5

reactionary 3 - demo tape : 7 track demo tape from this florida punk
rock band featuring the vocal talents of mr travis who used to be in
moonraker and true feedback story. (4 copies, £2)

rock / post hardcore, with more melodic bits that remind me of Braid.
Figuritas are also lurking in the DC ballpark with some tightly wound
rock action that is big on the groove. if you like that style this

true north - nightlife 12" - this is so weird because the label is
enormous and the record just comes in a plastic bag. bizarre. anywaw,
i had heard this was supposed to suck or something, but that's
bollocks, this is really good. i guess it's kind of like older 12 hour
turn crossed with strikeforce diablo. diem's vocals are still amazing.

some politcised lyrics. really hard hitting metal / heavy hardcore
with an emo edge to it. fits with stuff like the nineteen of salem.

czech repulbic! more hard to describe stuff, i have so much hard to

hablan por espalda 12" - interesting mix of hardcore / emo / punk,
half of this brings to mind things like Song of Zarathustra and
Transistor Transistor - very catchy and danceable. the other half is
more punk rock, like Rights Reserved. hard to put a finger on it. this
band is from uruguay of all places! great record. (£8.50 3 copies)

oliver twist - new tricks LP - quirky German indie rock, danceable but
offbeat. mixes faster Modest Mouse with other stuff. X-Mist says:
"while on their previous releases comparisons to CHISEL and/or ROBOCOP
KRAUS were evident, on this great new record they sound more like a
young, fresh and non-predictable version of bands like LIFTER PULLER

12", the host sepia features tim from soon the darkness! no screamo
though. the host sepia + nimbuscloud side is dark, the semionaside a

and acabah rot is more melodic, with keyboards. very catchy! tidal is
