hello you,

big weekend update for friday night, why not come home from the pub
and send me a drunken e-mail ordering 1 copy of everything? why not
indeed!

i have noticed in recent visits to the post office that prices are
rising on postage. that coupled with the fact that 12" mailers cost
about 50p each, i am having to add a small extra charge of 50p on all
orders that have 3 or fewer items so as to cover this. sorry about that!

have fun.

love,
andy x

THIS IS THE WAY
***************

the saddest landscape 7" - back in stock. 3 songs of candyland car
crash style emo. ex last 40 seconds. (3 copies, £3)
_______________________________
circle takes the square - s/t cdep - back in stock. you folks can't
get enough of this emo band and i don't blame you. amazing screamy
stuff in like with saetia, portrait, closure etc... (8 copies, £3.50)
_______________________________
this bike is a pipebomb - blank panther 7" - DIY pop punk, kind of if
lovesick were really poppy i guess? cool! (2 copies, £2.50)
_______________________________
cryptic slaughter / larceny split zine - this is tiny but has lots of
pages and a drawing of a dalek in it. tiny writing, personal type
stuff by the looks if it. (4 copies, £1.25)
_______________________________
los asesinos de superficialdad / tempers rise - split 12" - this is
fantastic. two dutch bands on one lp. LADS do blistering hardcore in
the vein of Assfactor 4 but with more of an emo leaning. tempers rise
is spazzy emo violence that you don't hear very often these days. fast
and harsh. no metal. ace. (4 copies, £4.75)
_______________________________
stars of dogon / early humans split 7" - the guy who put this out
lives up a mountain. stars of dogon is sassy rocked out garage stuff
like when rye coalition were any good (plus the vocals are a bit
antiochy!). early humans are weirder. more crunchy, not direct, kind
of a tonie joy thing going on (4 copies, £2.75)
_______________________________
portrait 10" - do some of you folks still need this? some of the best
screamy emo ever made. pretty bits and fall down bits. lovely. inkwell
appreciation society. (5 copies, £4.25)
_______________________________
khayembii communique / the vida blue - split 10" - back in stock.
forever getting requests for it, so here you go. (3 copies, £5.75)
_______________________________
ten grand - this is the way 12" - i hope you don't all have this
already. you probably know they used to be the vida blue. get it. (9
copies, £7)
_______________________________
born against - battle hymns of the race war & 9 patriotic hymns 12" -
i have one copy of each, £6 each. i also have a 2nd hand copy of the
cd that compiles them both which you can have for £2.

THAT WAS THE WAY
****************

new brutalism / hit self destruct - 7" - new brutalism is ex-red scare
playing mathy rock oft compared to shellac. hit self destruct is a
long, groovin' emo track that i guess is a cross between modern stuff
like transistor transistor and a more mid-western path like giants
chair. urgent sung vocals is the order of the day. really good. (3
copies, £2.50)
_______________________________
transistor transistor / mannequin split 7" - t*2 are playing more of
their sassy hc, mannequin is ex-members of a screamo band playing
grungey punk rock. i think they are great. (2 copies, £3)
_______________________________
former members of alfonsin / bread & circuits split 12" - can't be
bothered to write a description for this one! (1 copies, £7)
_______________________________
anasarca - discography 12" : essential mid 90's emo. this lp collects
their discography. (3 copies, £7.50)
_______________________________
america #10 - tiny tiny lil per-zine, written by travis who is in
reactionary 3 (1 copies, 75p)
_______________________________
haymarket riot / figuritas - split 7" - haymarket play energetic DC
rock / post hardcore, with more melodic bits that remind me of Braid.
Figuritas are also lurking in the DC ballpark with some tightly wound
rock action that is big on the groove. if you like that style this
should be well up your street (£2.50, 2 copies)
_______________________________
ripcord - discog part II 12" - second part of this UK hardcore bands
discography. THRASH THRASH THRASH - 28 tracks!! (£8, 1 copies)
_______________________________
the suburban kid / slingshot idol split 7" - black and white vinyl
here! neat. anyway, this is norwegian hardcore stuff. suburban kid is
chunky, thick and melodic/groovin' at times with angry vocals like a
simpler jr ewing. good uns. slingshot idol get their sass on with a
booty shaking sound reminiscent of san diego things like holy molar or
the swing kids or whatever. they have one of those nya nya nya
vocalists who wears a white belt and waves his hand in the air i bet.
(1 copies, £2.75)
_______________________________
omega cinco / nebur split 10" - omega cinco is rocking spanish emo
violence that has stuff in common with palatka et al. nebur is german
post rock with vocals. (£6.50, 1 copies)
_______________________________
potomac - synaptic syntax error - spastastic euro screamy hardcore on
white/blue/black splattered vinyl. it's pretty rampant and fast, and
barely in control. earlier jr ewing crossed with pg99 crossed with
something else (2 copies, £7)
_______________________________
raein cd - mid paced screamy emo from italy. there are 8 tracks and is
a bit like the earlier you and i sound mixed with some crunchier
ebullition stuff. neat. (£4.50, 2 copies)
_______________________________
dosage & usage 7" - i am sorry this is expensive. anyways, this is a
band with an ex-member of Makara playing sassy San Diego rock music. i
have some pins and stickers to, and will throw these in with the first
few orders. (4 copies, £4)
_______________________________
superchunk - on the mouth 12" - oops, i bought this by mistake,
confusing it with a different superchunk record. anyway, this is old
superchunk and is awesome anyway so maybe someone can take this off me
hands. ta! (1 copy, £8.00)
_______________________________
ravelin 7 - circle is our way cd - i think these guys are from the
czech repulbic! more hard to describe stuff, i have so much hard to
describe stuff in this week. they've catchy, keyboards. prominent
basslines and rocking guitars with urgent vocals. who'd have thought
they sassed in the czech republic? (2 copies, £6.50)
_______________________________
v/a - first crush comp cd - this has all kinds of indie rock and pop
punk on it, plus stuff from i hate myself, still life, mineral, one
car pile up (!) and JIMMY EATS FUCKING WORLD. you'll all want it now,
i know you all loved them. (2 copies, £6.50)
_______________________________
v/a - satellites & clouds comp cd - 16 track comp of all kinds of
stuff! includes bands like jet johnson, disoma, econoline and ann
arbor. electronica, post-rock and indie stuff mainly. check it out if
you are feeling adventurous. (3 copies, £5.50)
_______________________________
bitter life typecast cd - 11 tracks of indie rock a long the lines of
Mineral and that kind of 1997 style. whiney vox and jangly guitars.
(£5.50, 3 copies)
_______________________________
running on empty zine - neat little zine from a chap called jon who
buys a bunch of stuff from me. enthusiastic stuff focusing on music
with reviews and interviews of ignition label / distro, slingshot
round the moon and a couple of others. (50p, 2 copies)
_______________________________
hablan por espalda 12" - interesting mix of hardcore / emo / punk,
half of this brings to mind things like Song of Zarathustra and
Transistor Transistor - very catchy and danceable. the other half is
more punk rock, like Rights Reserved. hard to put a finger on it. this
band is from uruguay of all places! great record. (£8.50 3 copies)
_______________________________
oliver twist - new tricks LP - quirky German indie rock, danceable but
offbeat. mixes faster Modest Mouse with other stuff. X-Mist says:
"while on their previous releases comparisons to CHISEL and/or ROBOCOP
KRAUS were evident, on this great new record they sound more like a
young, fresh and non-predictable version of bands like LIFTER PULLER
or LES SAVY FAV!" (2 copies, £7.50)
_______________________________
limpwrist 12" - raa! total hardcore from these puffs! or something!
this is fantastic and pretty cheap too. this is the version on la vida
es un mus (1 copies, £5.50)
_______________________________
semionaside / the host sepia + nimbuscloud - smart electronica split
12", the host sepia features tim from soon the darkness! no screamo
though. the host sepia + nimbuscloud side is dark, the semionaside a
bit more melodic. very cool! (£5 - 4 copies)
_______________________________
tidal / acabah rot split 12 - tidal is crushing german emo / screamo
and acabah rot is more melodic, with keyboards. very catchy! tidal is
way better than their 10" here, this is powerful stuff. (£5.50 - 1 copies)

sales list
mix cd: for a quid i'll burn you a bunch of mp3's to a playable CDR. i
only have 50 or so mp3's, and they are mostly recent obscure emo /
screamo bands that have not put much out (if anything)
