Hear one of the best a cappella quartets in the US April 21st   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #46 of 54 |
On April 21st, Boston area music lovers will have the opportunity to hear some of the best 4 part a cappella harmony being sung in the United States today.

International championship quartet REALTIME, from Vancouver, British Columbia will headline the Sounds of Concord annual show at Lexington High School in Lexington, Massachusetts. The show is hosted by the Sounds of Concord, a 30-Man a cappella group currently ranked as the top Barbershop chorus in Massachusetts.

REALTIME has just won the Harmony Sweepstakes A Cappella Festival Pacific Northwest regional competition, and will be competing in San Francisco this May against other regional winners for the national title. REALTIME had already proven themselves as a dynamic, top-notch quartet when they won the Gold Medal at the Barbershop Harmony Society’s International Competition in 2005. They specialize in barbershop style singing, but also perform other contemporary a cappella music as well. Their special blend and their ability to reach across the stagelights to their audiences make their performances unique. With two CDs under their belt and performances around the world, REALTIME always provides audiences with a special entertainment treat. (More information on REALTIME is available at http://www.realtimequartet.com.)

Also featured on the show is another champion quartet, “club.406,” named after Ted Williams’ spectacular batting season. Club.406 took top honors at the 2006 competition of the Barbershop Harmony Society’s Northeast District, which covers all of New England and Eastern Canada. In addition, they represented the district at the 2006 International Quartet competition. Concord eXpress, another quartet featured on the show, won a bronze medal at the 2005 Northeast District Competition, and each of its members sings with the Sounds of Concord chorus.
