Press Release – Sounds of Concord to thrill folks with quartets delivering Singing Valentine’s on February 14th
As Valentine’s Day approaches, lots of folks are trying to think of some way to express their feelings beyond just the usual generic card or box of candy or flowers. Can you imagine surprising your significant other or good friend by sending a real live barbershop quartet to sing a love song – at home, at the office, or just about anywhere else.
Over the years, quartets from the Sounds of Concord have
fanned out over the region, delivering musical messages of love and happiness. And surprises? They’ve seen it all! They’ve delivered songs and Valentines goodies in the middle of business meetings, or to hospital patients, to teachers in their classrooms, college students in their dorms, cafeterias, or even in a dentist’s office to people having their teeth cleaned! Memories of the event last forever.
And it isn’t just the ladies that get serenaded. Often they
turn the tables and request quartets to catch their boyfriends or husbands by surprise at any of these places, or during a break at a factory or at a job site, Macho wrench-bending guys turn into red-faced mush when they receive their love song.
The Sounds of Concord chorus is a familiar sight in the area, especially at Christmas time as they have been a standard part of the Concord Chamber of Commerce Holiday Open House early in December, caroling in stores in
Concord Center . This year the chorus was the keynote musical entertainment at the Concord Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
The group has been entertaining Concord and the surrounding communities for 30 years, and is currently ranked as – the best male barbershop chorus in Massachusetts , based on yearly competitions held throughout the Northeast. They sing a wide variety of music from Gospel to Broadway and from patriotic to traditional – all arranged in the close harmony, 4 part Barbershop style – a uniquely American art form.
The Sounds of Concord quartets will be delivering Singing Valentines again this year on Thursday Feb 14th as well as Tuesday and Wednesday evenings the 12th and 13th. Singing Valentine’s can be delivered from Boston to Leominster , Andover to Framingham .
They are taking delivery orders at 866-537-1584 or you can visit www.soundsofconcord.org. A quartet will arrive in the appointed range of time, and offer a song
or two, along with candy, a rose, and a picture of the occasion--red faces and all.
