It can be hard to know where to start when you decide you want to learn how to
play the guitar. It can be hard to know whether or not you should get private
lessons or just teach yourself to play guitar. Nowadays, the internet is filled
with a ton of guitar lessons, but again, where do you even start?
Let's look at three places where you can start learning guitar.
1.) Teach yourself to play guitar with YouTube. If you don't know already,
YouTube has a wealth of videos with video lessons and tips on how to play
guitar. This is great because you can watch someone play to see if you are doing
it right. Search for "beginner guitar lessons" or "learn guitar" and you should
have a ton of videos come up.
2.) Teach yourself to play guitar with Google. As before mentioned, the internet
is loaded with a variety of information about how to play the guitar. Like
YouTube, search for phrases like "beginners guitar lessons" or "learn guitar."
Also once you start learning your first few chords, search for your favorite
songs or "easy guitar songs for beginners."
3.) Teach yourself to play guitar with online guitar lessons. The last two are
great ways to start learning how to play guitar. However, there is a big problem
with these last two. As a beginner, it can be hard to find lessons and tips that
are relevant to your level. It's easy to get lost in all of this information. To
be honest, it's most helpful to either find a local private instructor, or if
you would like a much cheaper alternative, get online guitar lessons. These
lessons will provide an easy to follow "roadmap" so you can effectively learn
how to play the guitar and see results!
These are just three ways you can use to teach yourself to play guitar. Many
others like yourself have been self-taught and have had very successful results.
Best of luck to you!
