Hi Everyone it's Paul Kulak again.
-The Woodshed is being faced with immediate closure.
-The City of LA has recently told us that the Woodshed is violating the law because we do not have a large enough parking lot in back of the Woodshed on Woodshed property to accomodate parking for all the people who visit the Woodshed at night.
-They have told me that the available street parking does not count.
-They say I am required to have 1 parking space for every 25 square feet of Woodshed space because we are an entertainment venue. Therefore we would need about 33 spaces.
-I only have 2 parking spaces.
-There is HOPE, but I need your help !!!
-I have to go before the local Neighborhood Council (Valley Village) on Wednesday April 28th at 6:30pm and ask the board for their permission to continue operating.
-If the Valley Village Neighborhood Council approves my request then I can apply to get a variance permit from the City of LA.
-Please help me keep the Woodshed open !!!
-If you live, work, or know someone who does, in Valley Village please come to express your support for the Woodshed on Wednesday April 28th at 6:30pm to the Neighborhood Council of Valley Village.
-Your voice/vote there will make a huge difference in helping to keep the Woodshed open.
-The meeting will be held at Colfax Elementary School Auditorium, 11724 Addison Street. (on the southwest corner of Colfax and Addison, south of Magnolia or north of Riverside)
-The boundaries of Valley Village are as follows:
-West: the Tujunga wash
-South: the Ventura (101) freeway
-East: the Hollywood freeway
-North: Burbank Blvd.
-Nearly all of the businesses in my neighborhood on Laurel Canyon around the Woodshed have signed a letter supporting us and said they have never had any reason to complain against us. The few who didn't sign simply abstained. Every single one of them said they had no problems with us, or any reason to complain about us.
-We have never had a parking problem because people can always find a spot on Laurel Canyon.
-We have the power to keep the Woodshed open but I can't do it without your support.
Thank You SO MUCH !!!
Paul Kulak
