Please allow me to apologize to all of you for the story the Daily News ran on December 21st. It was my hope that press could help our cause but that story only left us with mud on our face. I poured my heart out to that reporter asking him for help and he turned our story into a trashy tabloid piece. I have embarrassed all of you and I am deeply sorry. TV news stations have been emailing and calling since the Daily News article ran on Thursday but I'm not going to do any more press unless it's an investigative piece by someone trustworthy (dream on) that seeks to tell the truth about our situation.
I've always been very conflicted about taking our story to the press ever since Peyton began attacking the Woodshed in January, 2004. I did do a couple TV news pieces in late '04 and early '05 but I felt like a blindfolded poker player so I stopped. I want the Woodshed to be known for great singer songwriters, not for our struggle to defend ourselves against a psycho porn star. I was even contacted several times throughout 2005 by a producer at the People's Court TV show. They'd say, "Get Peyton in front of the judge, the winner gets $5,000 along with first class free accommodations". No thanks.
But when City red tape resulted in the December 31st deadline I panicked and in desperation I played the press card again. I hoped that if I earnestly informed each reporter with all the facts and context they would play fair. That was not to be. Equally as harmful as the Daily News article is that a great number of you have failed to read the emails you've been receiving from me in the past few weeks. As a result you are forming opinions about the Woodshed crisis that are based on a lack of information which leads you in the wrong direction, thus hurting our cause. Your lack of knowledge and context creates further confusion among people you talk to who might be able to help us and weakens our collective power. Please take the time to click on this link http://www.kulakswoodshed.com/faq.shtml and begin to understand what is going on here.
The Woodshed is our special community. Don't let apathy and ignorance destroy something beautiful that you helped me create.
Hopefully
Paul

The Daily News made me look pretty bad.And how about poor little Jim Britten the carpet store guy. Peyton's only friend and submissive companion. He claims we hurt his ruin his customers parking but business he closes at 5:00pm Tuesday thru Saturday !!!Peyton has never attempted to offer any verifyable PROOF to anyone ever that his claims are true. Yet the City believes him and chose to impose suffocating requirements upon the Woodshed that never would have been issued if it weren't for Peyton's false complaints. How can one guy succeed in using the City of LA as his proxy army with no facts and, nothing proven. How is it that the City can take him serious?Parking problems, WHAT PARKING PROBLEMS ??? Click here to see the truth. www.kulakswoodshed.com/empty.parking.256k.wmvPeyton claims our music disturbs him but he has never attempted to prove it.Let me see Peyton PROVE our music disturbs him. Why should I be forced to beg all of you for money and labor to build STC 58 required sound walls on all sides of the Woodshed when our music is not disturbing anyone?Click here for the Zoning inspectors report dated December 9, 2004.Look for the paragraph that says the following: "Given the makeup of the surrounding commercial uses, couples with no apparent history of any concerns or complaints related to Kulak's Woodshed in the course of the past 4 years it appears that the use is well accepted in the community."For us to reach STC (sound transmission class) 58 we would have to build very dense six inch heavy duty walls that would be too expensive for us to afford and there is no garantee that we can ever reach the STC 58 requirement to satisfy the City's stict requirement..
