Good News,
I've been able to get an extension that will allow the Woodshed to remain
open past December 31st. Your letter writing efforts have begun to pay
off a little but we have got to keep the pressure on. Do not stop, keep
sending them because we still have a long way to go. Our next crisis is
the follow up court date on January 24th where the judge has promised
to throw the book at me if everything isn't resolved. I've been told that
I'm facing possible jail time with a six month maximum and $1,000 fine.
In your letters please make it very clear that the Zoning Admin. stated
that we do not need a variance and that the use is permitted by right.

can get the entire variance dismissed before the 24th I can then apply for
my permit. Then the judge may not be as harsh if he sees progress being
made.
We must continue to encourage Ms. Greuel to fight for us in making the case
with Zoning that (1.) the use variance should be dismissed. (2.) There are
no parking or noise problems. (3.) All of Peyton's claims should be thrown
out.

They were able to get the December 31st deadline extended but other than
that I know nothing. The fact that they don't return my phone calls makes me
extremely nervous.
Thank you so MUCH for writing your letters. I am very grateful, and in
spite of all the problems I feel very blessed to have a community of
supporters like y'all on my side with such passion of the heart who take the
time to try and save the Woodshed.
Please remember to send me a copy for my records.
Several people have made the following point recently and I thought you
should hear it.
Since 2004 Peyton has claimed that the Woodshed has caused him to lose
hundreds of thousands of dollars in business beginning in December 1999
when we first opened because our music disturbs him. Why would Peyton
have waited four years to file a complaint if that were true.
The following is a quote from the Zoning Administrations on site
investigator
in a report filed December 9th, 2004.
"Given the makeup of the surrounding commercial uses, coupled with no
apparent history of any concerns or complaints related to Kulak's Woodshed
in the course of the past 4 years, it appears that the use is well accepted
in the community."

Thank You and Keep on Believing

ps
I have not booked anything for January fearing we would be closed. The only
nights on the calendar are the monthly Severin and James on the first Friday
(going on 8 years now, WOW !!!) and Julie's Animal Rescue and Adoption Night
on the last Saturday and the Open Mics each Monday. Please email me asap if
you'd like to do a night in January. Without shows we bring in no donations
and that's really gonna hurt.
