Hi All

Happy New Year!

January can traditionally be a quiet time for new releases, but 2007
looks to have started as it may well continue with some of the best
new music we've heard for a while - and from some interesting parts
of the world! Your current discount code is ECWGB41, which gets
you 11% off everything on the site until the end of the month.

Our latest artists of the week are Tasmanian band The Third Ending,
who have their self-titled debut album released later in January.
We are so confident that you will love this band - who blend the
song-orientated prog of Morse era Spocks Beard, with the slightly
more indie-inspired music of Porcupine Tree - that we are offering a
pre-order price of £8.99 as an added incentive.

There's plenty of other good stuff due in the next few weeks - with
US band Puppet Show due to release their long awaited second album
Tale of Woe. This is great stuff - solid, intricate prog in the US
style with great vocals and intricate, aggressive instrumentation.
Preordering now and due in the next couple of weeks at £9.99.

We can also recommend the debut album / DVD Audio Diplomacy from
Fromuz - an superb, tight, accessible instrumental prog / fusion
band from Uzbekistan. Again, at £9.99 the album is well worth a
punt, and will please fans of Frogg Cafe, Bruford and Steve Hackett.

Two rather more established bands have interesting releases out at
the end of January. Swedish prog-metallers Pain of Salvation
release their new album Scarsick on 22nd January. As usual, it's a
concept album, but this time Daniel Gildenlow tackles rather more
direct lyrical material than previously. Expect plenty of
instrumental variation as usual. £12.99

Saga finally release their double DVD and double CD sets Worlds
Apart Revisited on January 29th at £17.99 and £13.99 respectively.
This live concert from Switzerland features an entire performance of
their classic album Worlds Apart, and should show the Canadian band
at their very best.

As it's "that time of the year" don't forget we have plenty of items
in our Special Offers section.

That's all for now - coming soon, amongst others, new Neal Morse and
Starcastle!

Best wishes

Stephen

Hi All

As promised, here is the final instalment of our seasonal emails.
Rather than try to flog you anything specific this time, we thought
we'd look forward to 2007. However, if you do want to order
anything, the code YVQAV40 gets you 15% off everything on the site
until the New Year. From January 1st the default discount code will
be ECWGB41 – getting you 11% off.

2006 was an excellent year – but even at first glance 2007 looks
like it will be something quite remarkable – with bands both new and
well-established active during the year. Early in January we'll
update the site with several new artists, but for now here are just
a few highlights (and there really is loads more than this!):

It's possible that the all the component parts from the first
incarnation of Karnataka will release new product next year. The
first will be Rachel's new band The Reasoning, which also includes
Matthew Cohen (ex Magenta) on bass. Their album Awakening is due in
late winter, while Jonathan Edward's Panic Room project – featuring
vocalist Anne Marie Helder – should finally see the light of day.
With Ian Jones' Karnataka on tour in the spring, we may even see
their first album at some point in the year, not to mention his long-
awaited Chasing the Monsoon project.

Meanwhile, Mostly Autumn release the one-disc edition of new opus
Heart Full of Sky in February and what promises to be a very busy
month also sees releases by Steven Wilson's Blackfield project,
Swedish prog-metallers Pain of Salvation and, most amazingly, the
first new material in nearly 30 years from US prog rockers
Starcastle.

The first few months of the year also sees new albums from abroad
including, Brazilians Ashtar, German Band Arilyn, US band Little
Atlas and a double live from Frogg Café. For many, the highlight
early in the year will be the second album in the promised two-album
sequence by Sylvan, which began with Posthumous Silence.

From Britain there will be new albums in the first part of the year
from Galahad, Threshold, Waking the Witch, Bristol band Crimson Sky
and, of course, Marillion!

Finally, the Magenta camp will unleash their as-yet untitled fourth
studio album around the middle of the year, with several other
products – including the long-awaited Trippa album – still to be
scheduled.

That's it for now – a very happy and prosperous 2007 to you all.

Best wishes

Hi All

We have two more mails befor the end of 2006. In this one we'll
look back at the year gone by, and next week we'll have a look
forward to what promises to be a very exciting 2007.

We've come up with a new discount code for the holiday period, when
we will be open for business as usual for as much as we can. YVQAV40
is valid until December 31st at gets you 15% off everything on the
site for that period.

I've been asked by many people what my album of the year was - and
it's a hard decision to make. While I've had the pleasure of living
with Magenta's Home since first hearing some rough mixes back in
January, it is just pipped for me by the fantastic Eyes of the World
by Darwin's Radio. In terms of sheer songwriting craft and great
playing this album has given me the most pleasure this year,
especially considering that it was self-released. We are very happy
to have played a small part in its success.

Indeed, self released albums were a strong feature of the year, with
excellent and very varied product by: Strangefish, Tinyfish (no
relation), Kara, Also Eden, Area 39, Dayshift, Mermaid Kiss, Jebo,
Touchstone, Nick May and John Hackett, not to mention the ever-
popular Breathing Space by Iain Jennings, which was released at the
end of 2005.

Of the label-released albums this year, I particularly enjoyed
Anser's Tree by Guy Manning, Awake and Dreaming by The Gift, the
fabulous Signal to Noise by White Willow ( a particular success at
the Summers End Festival), Rob Reed (Magenta) pop / prog project
ChimpanA, The Circling Hour by Iona, Songs from Pennsylvania by
Ezra, Marking Time by Fluttr Effect and Almost Human by new band
Sensitive to Light.

A final word for Posthumous Silence by Sylvan, the favourite album
by Sonicbond customers, and currently in very short supply (though
we have a very limited amount arriving from the USA shortly).

Ok, we'll stop wittering now. A very Merry Christmas from all at
Sonicbond.

Yours, with bits of mince pie all over the keyboard. Again.

Hi All

Sonicbond is one year old!

If you would like to join our mailing list, and have not done so,
then please feel free to do so at www.sonicbond.com, using the link
on our front page. It gets you permanent discounts off the site, all
year round, and we'll keep you up to date with new releases, artists
and offers. In a non-pushy kind of way!

To celebrate our first year, and to thank you for your support, we
are doing two things. Firstly, we would like to offer you a special
discount of 15% off anything on the site. To claim your discount,
simply insert the code JHBMH36 when prompted at checkout. The code
can be used as many times as you like, but expires on Thursday 16th
November.

Tell us your album of the year...

Secondly we have decided to make a celebratory award. Simply email
us at stephen@... telling us what your favourite album of
the year is. Simple - and you don't even have to have bought it from
us! The album should have been released in the last 12 months
(though a little poetic license is allowed). One entrant, at random,
will win a £30 discount voucher to spend here as you see fit. Oh,
and the winning artist will get something as well! The closing date
for this is 16th November as well.

Finally, many thanks for you support over the past year. This site
is run for the love of music rather than for massive profits, so
thank you for helping towards our success.

Best wishes

few things to tell you about! Your current discount code is BZUEZ34
which gets you 11% off everything on the site until the end of
November.

Our latest artists of the week are the superb emotional rock band
Jebo, who have just supported Mostly Autumn at the classic rock
society. Their debut album Sinking Without You is worth every penny
of the £9.99 price tag. Get them here now before they get huge!

We have just introduced a permanent Special Offers section, which
will include a mixture of permanent and temporary offers. Two
temporary offers you might be interested in are recent bestsellers:

single disc edition of Magenta's brilliant Home, at £7.99. Both
offers will be open for a very limited period.

New artists include superb US prog / fusion band Frogg Cafe and
Polish band Quidam, and we have just taken delivery of new releases
by superb Norwegian band Retroheads, who will be playing Rosfest in
2007 - one for Flower Kings fans - and an extraordinary Norwegian
melodic prog project called Pictorial Wand, both at £12.99. We also
have the latest from US prog metal band Zero Hour at £11.99 and
we're particularly excited about US band Salem Hill - whose latest
album Mimi's Magic Moments is one of the best things we've heard in
a while and includes a guest appearance from Neal Morse. £9.99.
Definitley a band for fans of American prog like Spocks Beard and
Cryptic Vision.

Don't forget new releases by Alan White of Yes (now in stock at
£10.99), Spocks Beard, Fluttr Effect and Day Shift.

Finally, last call for Summers End Festival T-Shirts. This very

Hi All

Our mission to bring you plenty of new artists continues at
Sonicbond. Don't forget that your current discount code is BZUEZ34
which is valid until the end of November. To use it just insert the
code when prompted at checkout.

Fluttr Effect and Bolt

Our latest artists of the week are stunning Bostonian contemporary
prog band Fluttr Effect, recently signed to new label 10t. The band
has an exciting, contemporary sound, and, unusually for prog, 3
female members, including singer Kara Trott. We particularly
recommend their 2006 album Marking Time at £9.99.

We also recommend the new album Movement and Detail by interesting
instrumental duo Bolt, also £9.99

Think Tank Media

We have also completed our addition of artists from the Think Tank
Media stable, including Erik Norlander, Erik's band The Rocket
Scientists, whose double album Revolution Road is proving very
popular at £10.99 and the Queen of prog metal Lana Lane. Great
stuff, and very nicely priced!

Polish Bands

Our exploration of prog from Poland continues with the addition of
popular neo-prog band Satellite and brilliant Nearfest 2007 band
Indukti. Don't forget the excellent After, Believe, Sandstone and,
of course, Riverside.

Lizette and..

Fans of Swedish prog supergroup Spektrum may be interested in
vocalists Lizette's new project This Is. at £9.99. Though hardly
prog, this excellent, hard -edged pop - rock album is likely to
appeal to fans of Garbage and Alanis Morrisette.

..and the Brits.....

We've just added ex Enid guitarist Nick May's excellent, classically
influenced Whimwise project at £9.99. Don't forget the superb Day
Shift, the talented prog veteran Tim Burness, Guy Mannings new album
Anser's Tree, at £9.99 Also Eden's great About Time at £10.99 and
Iona's magnificent The Circling Hour at £12.99. Finally, don't
forget the limited-edition Summers End Festival 2006 T-shirts, at
£15.50 each.

To come - more prog from around the world, and hopefully an
exploration of the contemporary Italian prog scene!

Best wishes

Hi All

Our efforts to bring you exciting new bands and albums are really
bearing fruit at the moment. Watch out for lots of new stuff over
the next few weeks. Your new discount code is BZUEZ34 and gets you
11% off the site until the end of November. To use the code just
insert it when prompted at checkout.

Spocks Beard fans will look forward to their ninth studio album,
imaginatively entitled "Spocks Beard". From the clips we've heard,
this appears, in part at least, to be a return to the "classic" Neal
Morse era sound. It is due on 17th November at £12.99.

Our artists of the week, however, are the superb Day Shift. These
guys really are something special, playing psychedelic rock with a
real mid-period Porcupine Tree feel - but a sound all of their own.
You can get both their albums Imaginary Menagerie and Of Whispers
for £9.99, and they really are worth it.

We are also preordering the album by the new band built around Yes
drummer Alan White - White. This is good stuff - song orientated,
modern prog. Due 3rd November. £10.99.

Other recommendations: Two superb Polish bands, both coming at
melancholic, melodic prog from slightly different angles - Believe
and After. Both are heartily recommended as are Brazilian prog /
metal band Thessera. All albums are £9.99.

We also have the 2004 album by Prog veteran Tim Burness called
Finding New Ways to Love, a charming, quirky mixture of songs and
ambient instrumentals in early Porcupine Tree mode. £8.99.

Finally, we've added a couple of items by keyboard whizz Erik
Norlander. Phew!

Don't forget our two best sellers at the moment - Ansers Tree by Guy
Manning at £9.99 - surely his best work yet, with a stunning
contribution from Andy Tillison of the Tangent, and the superb About
Time by Also Eden at £10.99.

Lots more great stuff to come!

Hi All

We're still "coming down" after the Summers End Festival. What a
success it was, and our thanks to everyone - bands and fans alike -
who contributed to that success. See you next year, we hope! Thanks
also to all those that came and said hello - or indeed threw their
money at us - on the Sonicbond stand.

Your current discount code is JHBLH32 which get you 11% off the site
until the end of October

For those that didn't pick up a copy at the festival, we now have
About Time the fantastic debut CD from Also Eden, who played a great
set on Sunday evening. Fans of early Genesis, IQ and pendragon will
simply love this, and singer Huw Lloyd-Jones is one of the best
singers in contemporary Prog. Not to be missed at £10.99.

We are also taking preorders on a few other items due very soon:

As a prelude to stocking a wide selection of items by Lana Lane and
Erik Norlander, we are pre-ordering the comeback album Revolution
Road by Erik's symphonic prog/hard rock project The Rocket
Scientists, who will be entertaining the good people of Rosfest next
year. This double album, a snip at £10.99 - is well worth getting.

For those of you who came to Strangefish late, we've just taken
delivery of some copies of their superb 2003 debut Full Scale, which
has been unavailable for a while, £10.99.

Moving away from Prog momentarily, we are taking preorders for Enter
My Religion, the latest solo album by Liv Kristine, released October
16th, best known as singer of the gothic folk metal band Leaves
Eyes. Expect a much more pop orientated effort with a strong folk
influence. £10.99.

We're also expecting the new albums by ACT, Iona and Guy Manning at
any moment!

Cheers.

album refines their sound down more progressive lines. Their
excellent first album On the Other Side is still available at a
miserly £6.99!

Arriving Somewhere by Porcupine Tree £15.99, Rock Goes to College
by Bruford £17.99 and Instant Delivery by The Flower Kings £18.99 -

Two more new artists to the site we can heartily recommend are Ghost
Circus, a band that Kino fans may enjoy, and K2 a band that features
the legendary guitarist Allan Holdsworth and Ryo Okumoto of Spocks
Beard.

Two new albums that have suffered slight delays due to changed
release dates are Signal to Noise by White Willow (now September
11th) and Cover to Cover by Neal Morse (now September 23rd).
Apologies to anyone waiting for these - they'll both be worth it,
though. Don't forget, you can catch White Willow at the Summers end
Festival on September 30th. Tickets are still available!

Coming soon - new releases by Iona, Also Eden and ACT - amongst many
others!

All the best.

that's just £3.33 per act!).

Day tickets will also be available at £25 for each day. All prices
will be higher `on the door' and numbers are to be limited to 500,
so early booking is recommended.

Tickets can be purchased from the venue at www.therobin.co.uk, or

We're very excited about the event, and really hope to see as many
of you there as possible!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

In a World is the new album by brilliant Florida prog outfit Cryptic
Vision, a firm favourite with many of our customers. We have the
album at £8.99 until release at the beginning of June, and the word
is that this is a huge advance on their excellent first release.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

For fans of Ayreon and Stream of Passion comes a double live album
and DVD Live - In the Real World on June 19th. The double live
album will be £14.99, the DVD will be £17.99. Their performance in
Rotherham earlier in March is our gig of the year so far, so we're
can hardly wait for these live recordings to arrive.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

We are allso preordering new EPs by Leaves' Eyes and Riverside ,
both £6.99

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally, the debut album from Frost called Milliontown arrives at
the end of July, but it's such a mouth watering prospect, we are
starting pre-orders already. Frost is a project led by pop producer
Jem Godfrey, and featuring John Mitchell (Kino, Arena), John Jowitt
(IQ) and Andy Edwards (IQ). If the early soundclips are anything to
go by, then the results with be brilliant - and a must for all Kino
and Spock's Beard fans. £13.49.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Don't forget our current favourite and artist of the week - Eyes of
the World by Darwin's Radio £9.99 and a reminder that Fish - Return
to Childhood (double CD) £12.99 and Magenta - Home (2 CD edition)
£14.99 are both due in at any moment!

All the best

Hi All

We're in the middle of a bumper crop of new releases at the moment,
and one particular has really caught our fancy..

Eyes of the World is the debut album by Darwin's Radio, a new
English progressive rock band that makes astonishingly dynamic music
with strong hints of Rush and Enchant but with a much greater
emphasis on keyboards. The band features 2 former members of Grey
Lady Down (but sounds nothing like them). The album really is
something special, and the band are our current artists of the week.
At £9.99 the album is a real snip.

Other recommendations:

Sandstone - Looking for Myself. An excellent album from this Polish
band mixing introspective prog with metal. One for Sylvan /
Riverside/ Dream Theater fans. £9.99

Kino - Cutting Room Floor. A must for all fans of the Prog
supergroup, this is an entertaining selection of demos and live
tracks. £11.99

Joanne Hogg - Celtic Hymns. An Iona album in all but name, this
features strong contributions from Dave Bainbridge and Troy
Donockley. £9.99. The brilliant Iona - Live in London DVD is in
stock at last . £18.99

Crimson Sky - Only Love. Debut EP from Bristol-based rock band. £3.99

Don't forget Home by Magenta - selling like hot cakes already at
£14.99, plus the brilliant Songs from Pennsylvania by Ezra.

As you may have noticed lately, many of our offerings have been
leaning towards rock - and prog in particular. Well, this is part
of a gradual move away from the wider aspects of the site towards a
greater specialisation in this area of music. For a more detailed
explanation behind this, check out our latest blog at
www.myspace.com/sonicbond - and feel free to become our friend if
you have a profile there.

All the best.

Dear All

3 weeks in....

www.sonicbond.com has been live for 3 weeks, and so far the response has been fantastic, with emails of congratulation flooding in from friends new and old, not to mention one or two of the artists on the site, including singer-songwriters Claire Hamill and Jenny Morris, and members of Karnataka, Mermaid Kiss, Panic Room, Seasons End and our good friends Magenta.

Many thanks to everyone that has supported the site so far!

Recommendations

Over the next few weeks we will be adding more product to the site, mainly for our existing artists.  For those of you looking for slightly more unusual music suggestions, can we recommend:

Davison / Coleman - Forward Motion. £9.99 Gorgeously lush album of beautifully-performed acoustic songs from this duo from California.  This album is not available anywhere else in the UK, and it's a real find.

Tirill - A Dance with the Shadows. £9.99.  A great, unsung album of gothic folk from this ex member of Norwegian prog band White Willow.  One of the most beautiful albums we have ever heard.

These are just two of the brilliant yet obscure albums available on the site. www.sonicbond.com rewards a little time and effort spent wandering through its pages -  there are gems like these wherever you look!

And Finally...

Don't forget...you can join out yahoo group at   http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sonicbond or become our friend at www.myspace.com/sonicbond. Look at out FAQ pages for details of how to place special orders or get more sound clips on items you want further help with.

All the best.
