Duranie (dûr-RÂN-nee) n. An exceptionally devoted or obsessive fan of the
English pop group Duran Duran.
Is Kim Brittingham a Duranie? YOU be the judge.
On December 11, 2005, Brittingham will take the stage at the East Side Oral
reading series and ask the question that's been plaguing her for longer than
she'd care to admit: "Am I a Duranie???" Listen to the case, make the call.
Sympathetic shout-outs, hysterical weeping, riotous laughter (both pitying and
self-pitying), unrestrained shreiks of "Siiiiiii-mon!" and spontaneous bursts of
applause will all be tolerated with understanding nods of our bartenders' heads.
Ours is a safe space.
