Monday Michiru, Cosa Nostra, iTunes ...   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #6078 of 6097 |
Looking at recent posts here, since when did S::L become my personal
blog page? :-) Anyway, I've continued to keep up with new releases
whether I'm posting here or not, so if I find some things of interest and
have a few minutes I'll drop by S::L and hope it's useful info...

A followup on several upcoming releases I mentioned recently:

Monday Michiru ~ CO-COLLABORATED WORKS OF MONDAY MICHIRU
release date 09/19/2007 on the Nayutawave label
The track listing is showing up on a few Japanese websites. Until I hear
otherwise, I'm going to assume that if it's not listed as a remix (e.g.,
track 1: "new remix") then it's the original version, such as "Butterfly"
and "A.D.D.P." (which have been previously issued in both original and
remixed form).
1) You Make Me (new remix)
2) Butterfly
3) A.D.D.P.
4) Tiger Eyes (English version)
5) Release The Light (DJ Kawasaki Remix)
6) Sunshine After The Rain (Masters At Work 12" mix)
7) Shooting Star
8) The Real Thing
9) Chasing After The Sun

Cosa Nostra ~ LIFE
release date 09/05/2007 on Geneon
This may be useless info since most of the tunes are probably
original compositions, but I got the tracklisting for this album, too.
At least one prominent cover version (Iko Iko), though. From what
I can tell, it looks like Reiko Oda is still in the group as vocalist, but
until I get the CD I won't know if there are also guest vocals (as was
the case on one of their albums issued earlier in the decade):
1) Life
2) Outer Area
3) Hateshinai Koi
4) Black Twist
5) Ougon No Isu
6) Hit Song
7) Yubokumin
8) Small
9) Akarui Mirai Keikaku
10) If You Don`t Want My Love
11) Iko Iko

Just in case anyone is shopping at iTunes, I noticed several albums
for sale that I've mentioned in my previous posts:

Coldfeet - BODYPOP

Coldfeet - BODYCHOP (fyi: BODYPOP remixes)

Lisa Ono - ROMANCE LATINO SELECTION (12 cuts from the three-album
series of Latin-flavored CDs she released several years ago; there's an
option to download them as iTunes Plus DRM-free higher-quality songs.
I prefer owning the original three CDs, but not a bad deal here for $9.99).

DJ Krush - "Keeping The Motion" (has Monday Michiru on lead vocals)

Basement Jaxx - "Always Be There" (also has Monday on lead vocals,
and is available as a DRM-free download)

Best,
John

NP: bird ~ BATUCADA (nice version + remix, although I like akiko's
version on VIDA even more).

P.S.: I'm hoping in the next few days to list dozens of items on ebay
under the seller "jazzbrat" that I just don't have time to listen to anymore,
including everything from groove-y stuff (beret, organs cafe, paris match,
etc.) to j-pop (beni arashiro, etc.) and who knows what else. Possibly even
magazines (such as back issues of Straight No Chaser) if I decide to
part with them.
