Aloha S::L'ers:

I was meandering around the internets and accidently stumbled upon an
interesting album -- well, I was searching "Bebel Gilberto" and the results
soon went beyond the obvious -- that was just released by the NYC
group FORRO IN THE DARK.

As Dusty Groove states,

"A mix of rootsy elements and contemporary production -- but a set that
comes off a lot better than most other modern projects of this nature!
The style here definitely has some of the Brazilian forro styles you might
guess from the group's name -- but the overall sound is a bit leaner,
cleaner, and more appealing to contemporary ears as well -- thanks to
an equal focus on the bottom rhythms and acoustic elements, as well
as some key guest vocals from Bebel Gilberto and David Byrne on two
of the best numbers. Some of the tracks are totally instrumental, and
others have vocals by members of the group -- and titles include "Indios
Do Norte", "Wandering Swallow", "I Wish", "Cajuina", "Oile Le La", "Lampiao
No Ceu", "Limoeiro Do Norte", "Que Que Tu Fez", and "Paraiba".

http://www.dustygroove.com/browse.php?kwfilter=Forro+In+The
+Dark&incl_oos=1&incl_cs=1

Not only does David Byrne lend his voice to two tunes and Bebel Gilberto
guests on a third, but Dusty Groove overlooked the presence of our new
favorite commercial jingle writer Miho Hatori, who sings (in Japanese)
on "Paraiba."

A New York group doing Brazilian music with a Japanese vocalist sounds
just about right to me.

Best,
John

That was a result of them being label mates IIRC. I don't know that
they've worked together since.

It's back on youtube btw. It was released w/ the parappa game sequel
as a 7 incher, I imagine there are copies out there, but not retail.
I don't know if it was on the official soundtrack.

I heard the ad last week. She doesn't appear in the advert
physically, and I didn't figure out it was her until she says
something that has a familiar "flow." hint. At any rate, you can
view it on this slow downloading site.

I'm a Miho H. fan, but I'm not familiar with this. I took a few moments to
Google but although there are a few hits on the topic, I couldn't really
pin down what it's about or (more importantly) where to listen.

something about it here at S::L when it first was released).

I did a little google searching, but couldn't find it. Unless someone else
knows what's going on, maybe this is a track recorded for the CM only?

Although it seems as if tracks that appear in Japanese advertisements
tend to be available to buy -- with their appearance in the CMs serving
to promote the song as well as the product -- I'm stumped on this one.

Konbanwa,
John

NP: GO-THE VERY BEST OF MOBY (right now CD2 with the remixes)

Also re-checking out -- but not at the same time -- the unique take on
the old Carpenters tune "I Won't Last A Day Without You" as reinvented
by Ringo Shiina with lots of vocal help from Utada Hikaru (!!!)

Now that's a pairing I wouldn't have expected. BTW, I like the results.

Now, I've gotta locate that De La Soul/Double pairing somewhere.
Anyone know if that tune -- of which a videoclip was posted on
youtube but removed later -- is available for purchase on a CD?

Hi S::L,

Periodically I drop an e-mail here highlighting some (mostly) upcoming
releases of note (notable to me anyway). A subjective sense of what is
all-important, but hopefully someone somewhere will get somthing
out of it (and which looks a lot like my current pre-order list from several
Japanese stores):

HEARTSDALES The Legend Final Live (12/20/2006)
CD Japan description:
"Live DVD from Heartsdales commemorates the final show of the group's
career with the complete two hour live performance from their final concert
at the Shibuya O-East held on September 2, 2006. Also includes a CD with
a non-stop mega-mix of their greatest tracks. Live performance includes
guest performance of Verbal from m-flo, Mummy-D from Ryhmester,
(Miliyah) Kato, and Double."

For those keeping track, Rum & Jewels announced a few months ago that
they are disbanding their group Heartsdales. Perhaps oddly, since they
are real-life sisters, but maybe they thought HD had reached their
potential. The CD in this set is a mega-mix, while the DVD looks like
a major send-off with lots of key collaborators joining them on stage.

UTADA HIKARU / Utada United 2006 (12/20/2006)
CD Japan description:
"Live footage from Hikaru Utada's performance at the Saitama Super
Arena during her "Utada United 2006" tour--her first tour in nearly 6 years."

From what I've read, Hikki's 2006 tour included tunes from her latest
CD ULTRA BLUE, as well as 2004's USA debut EXODUS, plus some old
favorites. Additionally, her older concert DVDs -- going back to 2000
-- are being re-released at a (somewhat) lower price.

UTADA HIKARU / Boku Wa Kuma (11/22/2006)
This is a short children's song, and while it's not going to be for
everybody, I'm finding it irresistable (both the song and the videoclip
of the animated bear Kuma). Shows off Hikki's lighter side. A hit
with my kids, too.

JAZZINHO / Atlas (already released)
I totally missed out on this one, which recently was issued in Europe
-- now available at Dusty Groove -- but now I see it has been out since
March in Japan! Notable for the presence of Brazilian producer/artist
Ed Motta. I prefer the cover artwork of the Japanese version (shown at HMV).

TOSHIKO AKIYOSHI / Hope (12/04/2006)
CD Japan description:
"New single release from award-winning jazz player Toshiko Akiyoshi
in collaboration with poet Shuntaro Tanigawa. Includes vocal
performance from Monday Michiru."

Monday wrote about this in her latest newsletter.

JAFROSAX / JAFROSAX 3 (11/08/2006)
Even when not including remix CDs, Jafrosax (led by reedman Kazuki
Katsuta) is pretty prolific, with this being their third full-length CD in
three years. I don't know who's along for the ride on this one, but
past CDs had everyone from Yukimi Nagano to Yukihiro Fukutomi
to Vikter Duplaix joining in.

KALEIDOSCOPIO / Kaleido (already released in Japan)
This Brazilian duo snuck their second album into the marketplace
recently, but only in Japan as far as I can tell. I enjoyed their debut,
an energetic take on Brazilian-flavored grooves. I suppose this one
will pick up from where the last one left off. As with Jazzinho, it
looks like Japan gets some very early release dates with some of
my favorite Brazilian-flavored music.

HAJIME YOSHIZAWA / Hajime (11/08/2006)
Looks like a major shift in approach, with Hajime putting together
a quintet of progressive jazz luminaries (Marc Johnson, Peter Erskine,
John Abercrombie, and Bob Mintzer). I've got to think this will be
exploring straight-up acoustic jazz, and veer away from his
acid-jazz/nu-jazz/etc. past efforts.

MIO MATSUDA / Pitanga! (11/22/2006)
I thought highly of her debut (I wrote about it here a few months ago),
a personalized mix of Brazilian and Spanish styles (Fado, etc.). Not
only is this new CD ready to go, but she issued several other CDs
earlier this year (so I'm now playing catchup). I'm looking forward to
hearing wherever she's going artistically.

ORANGE PEKOE Best Remixes & Clips (11/22/2006)
No new O.P. album in 2006 -- generally they're good for at least one
per year --so this interim product is coming out soon, and it looks
pretty solid to me (check out the remixers on the CD). There's a DVD
with nine videoclips on the ltd ed. version.

Here's the CD track list (from HMV, with Japanese tracks magically
transformed into romaji via an online translator):
Love Life ~Mode For Kita-Horie~ / Remixed By Sunaga T Experience
koganeiro no hane ~Gira Mundo Remix~ / Remixed By Gira Mundo
shuu ?? chou ran bon - Sunaga T Experience Remix/ Remixed By Sunaga T
su go ho an ~Os Bossa 4 Version~ / Remixed By Nicola Conte
taiyou nokakera ~Electric Sheep Remix~ / Remixed By Electric Sheep
Kiseki; ~Beanfield Remix~ / Remixed By Beanfield
Happy Valley ~Yukihiro Fukutomi Remix~ / Remixed By Yukihiro Fukutomi
Honeysuckle ~Raphael's Samba Tek~ / Remixed By Raphael Sebbag (UFO)
sora ni kaka ru circle ~Studio Apartment Remix~ / Remixed By Studio Apartment
yawarakana yoru ~Waltz For &'S Remix~ / Remixed By Sunaga T Experience

M-FLO LOVE BONNIE PINK / Love Song (11/08/2006)
Thanks to the internets, I've already got a chance to see'n'hear this one.
Bonnie Pink -- who is pretty highly regarded Jpop-and-beyond star --
fits right into the m-flo on this hip-hop flavored ballad. Another in a
long line of successful "M-flo loves (insert name here)" collabos.

Best,
John

P.S. Cash flow time for moi (watashi?) -- I've gotta pay for the above-
listed pre-orders somehow -- so I've been putting up a number
of items -- many of them of relevance to S::L -- for auction, under the
user name "jazzbrat." Stuff ranging from some Eico singles, several
Maki Nomiya items, a couple of Anita Mui DVDs, one or perhaps more
Brazilian-related items (e.g., an Elis Regina DVD), maybe a little jpop
here and there, the occasional unrelated item, and so on.

NP: John Legend - ONCE AGAIN (despite the release being a major
mainstream pop event, I really like the organic feel of this one, mostly
downtempo r&b/soul, with contemporary touches here and there, Sort
of old school in feel, but with fresh production around the edges.
Quite a different feel from his debut, which was more prominently
marked by Kanye West's distinctive production work. Amazingly to
me -- since their voices tend to find their way into most of their
productions -- the likes of West, Will.I.Am etc. keep the focus on
Legend's musical approach, to the point where there are no raps at
all on any of the cuts).

Konnichiwa S::L (anybody home?) ...

Although I won't be in attendance, this looked like a classic lineup to me
(there's mention of it in the liner notes to the Japanese import of the
new Koop CD):

http://tokyocrossoverjazzfestival.jp/2006/top.html

Live acts:
Koop
Frank McComb
Sleep Walker featuring Bembe Segue and Yukimi Nagano
Kyoto Jazz Massive
and more unlisted acts

DJs:
Ryota Nozaki (Jazztronik)
Yukihiro Fukutomi
Karma
DJ Kawasaki
Mitsuru Ogawa
Joyride
etc.

I'm interested to find out -- preferably in person, but not gonna happen
-- since Yukimi is already there will she be singing with Koop, too?
And if not, who's going to be Koop's vocalist for this tour?

As I'm writing this, I'm listening to Koop's new CD -- fresh outta the
mailman's hands -- and lovin' it. Yukimi sings on three cuts -- four
if I count the remix available on the Japanese import -- and the
other vocalists are also right in sync with Koop's club/jazz approach
(Ane Brun, Earl Zinger, Mikael Sundin).

Also got the new bird CD today, I'll try to post on that one if I have the
time. And some other new items that may be of interest.

Best,
John

Hi S::L ...

I was doing some music-related googling, and accidently came across a
recent English-language interview with Crystal Kay. Here's the link:

http://metropolis.co.jp/tokyo/628/music_beat.asp

Sounds a lot like she may be looking towards making an attempt to break
into the US market. CK's going to have to if she's going to reach one
of her stated goals: winning a Grammy.

And while I was at the website (Metropolis/Japan Beat), there's also a
recent Monday Michiru article, with interview:

Okay, there's lots of interviews there, I'll link one more recent chat,

Thanks Cynan! I'm about halfway done listening to the mp3 mix and found
a few cuts/artists I wasn't familiar with. Highly recommended to the jazz
groove S::L members, and anyone else who likes good music deserving of
wider recognition.

Best,
John

Hey S::L ...

Oh damn, it's nothing, only a new Koop CD. Blah blah blah.
(pretending to be jaded but actually bouncing off the walls with anticipation)

KCRW is among those playing "Koop Island Blues." I heard it while in the
car this evening but didn't know what it was until the DJ announced it later.
I remember being impressed and wondering what I was listening to, though.
And joy to the world, Yukimi is back on board, at least for three cuts.

Title: KOOP ISLANDS
Scheduled release: October 2006

01 Koop island blues (vocals by Ane Brun)
02 Come to me (vocals by Yukimi Nagano)
03 Forces…darling (vocals by Earl Zinger)
04 I see a different you (vocals by Yukimi Nagano)
05 Let´s elope (vocals by Mikael Sundin)
06 The moonbounce
07 Beyond the son (vocals by Earl Zinger)
08 Whenever there is you (vocals by Yukimi Nagano)
09 Drum Rhythm A (music for ballet exercises)

And following up on my last post, I found some more j-pop etc. on
USA iTunes after I hit the send button:

Minako Okuyama ~ MUCH LOVE (partial album)
Minako Okuyama ~ ONE BY ONE (partial album)
~ her name on iTunes is in Japanese characters, though
Eico ~ PEACH
Eico ~ GUITAR OF MOONLIGHT NIGHT
(her full-length album isn't available, though)
Lisa Ono ~ ROMANCE LATINO SELECTION
(highlights of her 3 Latin-flavored 2005 albums)

Hi S::L ...

I've already written a bit about all kinds of items popping up on Youtube.com.
J-pop exposure (inside and outside of the mainstream) is now just a click away.

The USA iTunes store is getting in on the j-action more and more. If I didn't
mention it already, Utada Hikaru's latest CD ULTRA BLUE is available for
downloading. A recent random check also found the following (mostly
Japanese):

Puffy AmiYumi SPLURGE
Kyoto Jazz Massive 10TH ANNIVERSARY
Jafrosax A NEW STANDARD OF THE FUTURE
M-Flo ASTROMANTIC
M-Flo BEAT SPACE NINE
Jazztronik SAMURAI
Jazztronik NU BALANCE
Jazztronik NUMERO UNO
Jazztronik SET FREE
Jazztronik TENDER VISION REMIXES + 2
Jazztronik + Sandii TIKI TIKI
Reggae Disco Rockers "Just Tell Me" (Jazztronik remix)
Reggae Disco Rockers MORNING GLORY
Reggae Disco Rockers OASIS
Reggae Disco Rockers RAINBOW
Reggae Disco Rockers REGGAE MAGIC
Reggae Disco Rockers SHINKIROU NO MACHI
Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra ANSWER
CoCo Lee EXPOSED
Pizzicato Five HAPPY END OF THE WORLD
Pizzicato Five MADE IN USA
Pizzicato Five PLAYBOY PLAYGIRL
Pizzicato Five THE 5TH RELEASE FROM MATADOR
Pizzicato Five THE SOUND OF MUSIC BY PIZZICATO FIVE
Shonen Knife 712 (and other albums)
hiro (ex-Speed) "Confession" (single)
Miu Sakamoto "Never Ending Story" (single)
Angela Aki "Kiss Me Goodbye" (E.P.)
Max (various singles)
Beni Arashiro BENI (partial album)
Double "Shake" and "Desire" (remixes)
Monday Michiru "Be Who You Are" (ROUTES track)
Yukihiro Fukutomi EQUALITY (partial album)
D.J. Krush JAKU (and other albums)

I'll stop there. I didn't think when I started this post that I'd find so much!
Of course, there's other American-based artists such as Cibo Matto, too.
I wouldn't be surprised if in the near future some major j-pop releases
will be simultaneously released here and in Japan. And that the above
list grows quickly.

Best,
John

The Soul Lounge/Groovenation Inc. and the

1st Annual International Soul Music Summit present

Jaguar Wright, Gordon Chambers and Javier

Soul Music Summitt

ATLANTA, GA - July 21, 2006 - The Soul Lounge and Groovenation Inc.,
pioneers in the soul music industry, announce their first
International Soul Music Summit. The fight to keep the vibe alive
kicks off August 11-12, 2006 at the Marriott Atlanta Downtown. Soul
lovers from around the world are invited to take part in this
groundbreaking conference, which will address the urgency of
continuing to promote soul-filled music in an entertainment industry
dominated by commercial music.

Soul music has entered a state of emergency. As a result, the genres
top musicians, producers, executives, promoters, djs and connoisseurs
of the good vibrations that real music has brought to us all for
decades, will have a two-day meeting of the minds in Atlanta. Fiona
Bloom of The Bloomeffect, Jason Orr, Founder of FunkJazz Kafe, soul
artists Jaguar Wright, Eric Roberson, Algebra and Javier, songwriter
and musicologist Gordon Chambers, DJ Jamad representing The
Aphilliates and Afromentals/Sirius Radio, Carlton Hargro, music
editor at Creative Loafing Atlanta and host of Audiofloss and many
more will convene for this invaluable session on the progression of
soul music into the digital age.

In addition, the summit is pleased to announce the participation of
industry insiders such as Bryant Johnson, producer for BETs Soul
Sessions, Barry King of Solar Radio (UK), Deborah Hinds of Soul Talk,
John Dean of Solar Radio and The Juice (UK), Kembo Tom of GTM,
Anthony David, James Andrews of Brand Influence and DJ Salah Ananse.
Making her Atlanta-debut at the summit is songwriter turned
filmmaker, Stephanie Renee, who will be unveiling her latest
documentary, NO SUCH THING AS NEOSOUL.

Discussions and workshops will begin at 10:00am each day with
registration starting at 8:00am. The discussions will feature a think
tank of soul music lovers and providers including Terry Bello, Soul
Music Summit GM and founder of The Soul Lounge. Once thought to be
primarily an underground genre of music, (Neo) Soul has emerged as a
strong brand that reaches across traditional ethnic and economic
backgrounds. This unprecedented event is a cant miss for anyone who
loves or is a part of this musical movement. Panels are designed to
enrich you with information to ignite your career, hone your craft
and ultimately save our souls.

This is a professional conference about businessthe music business.
We want attendees to walk away feeling that the mood/vibe was good,
the connections were right and there was always soul music going on,
says Terry Bello, Soul Music Summit GM. Its about mixing, mingling,
connecting and networking so they get hooked up and come away with
valuable money making connections they did not have before they came.
Now is the time to highlight (increase awareness) and recognize
(support) this genre of music as it creates an urban vibe that is a
life style that expands across the globe and is poised to positively
impact the world!

Those who wish to register online can do so at
www.soulsummitonline.com. Serving host to our inaugural soul
extravaganza is The Marriott Atlanta Downtown, (formerly the
Wyndham), located within walking distance to many Atlanta attractions
including Centennial Park, The Georgia Aquarium, Underground Atlanta
and the historic Auburn Avenue. As a result, Soul Music Summit
participants will receive a special host room rate of $99 per night
for double occupancy.

Here's another go-round with some of my current listening choices:[MINK] 4 Love
(Japan CD Maxi-Single)Four mainstream soul-sprinkled pop ballads, at times a bit
like one would have expected from the pre-hiphop Mariah Carey of the early-mid
`90s, or maybe some of Mika Nakashima's singles. Though above-average for what
it is, there's absolutely nothing out of the ordinary about this ep. No amazing
songs or notable producers to stamp the cuts with any originality, and no
journeys into dj via remixes such as the cut that recent topped the USA dance
charts. Not sure what will happen in the long run, but after some promising
early moves -- Shinichi Osawa and Monday Michiru helped out with a couple of
tracks on her debut album -- Mink seems to be playing it very safe lately. Nice
to hearher vocals, though. [UTADA HIKARU] Ultra Blue (Japan CD album)This new
album seems to bring in the best of both worlds. Not only does it expand on the
sophisticated melodies and arrangements of her most recent Japanese CDs, but the
cool electronica elements of Utada's EXODUS get subtly interwoven into the mix
on most cuts. Those who didn't like EXODUS will probably consider this a
return-to-form. Those like myself who stayed on board for the English-language
album should also enjoy how Hikki has referenced some aspects of EXODUS here,
but in a way that seems like a more direct extension of 2002's DEEP RIVER. I
posted a more extensive review at amazon.com. One surprise to me is that ULTRA
BLUE is currently available on iTunes here in the USA, even though it is a
Japanese CD release. [MONDAY MICHIRU] Routes Live In Japan (Japan DVD)Recorded
earlier this year, this DVD focuses on material from the ROUTES album, but
throws in a few oldies such as "Play It By Ear," "Yellow Bird," "Sunshine After
The Rain," and "You Make Me." Monday's vocals are stellar, her spouse Alex
Sipiagin is very strong throughout on trumpet, and the rhythm section of Genta
(drums) and Henry Hey (keyboards/programming) fill out the sound in an inspired
manner. Although there is pre-programmed instrumentation such as bass, a few
background vocals, and some other touches here and there, it sounds like a live
band on every track but "The Right Time," in which the programming is most
upfront (leaving Genta to play percussion). "Remember" also works in some of
Shinichi Osawa's tracks -- he produced that cut on the album. The DVD plays like
an actual concert, just complete performances of the tunes, with no-frills
(interviews, etc.). Also, I just noticed that this DVD is all-region, so it
should play on any normal USA DVD player. Great to finally have a Monday concert
on DVD!Although Monday has written that this particular gig didn't go as well
asplanned, I notice very little evidence of that on this consistently
amazingDVD. [SOIL & PIMP SESSIONS] Live in London (Japan DVD)Unfortunately,
those wanting a full-length concert by S&PS -- similiar to the Monday Michiru
DVD -- will have to wait. The good news is that there is a fair amount of live
footage from London and Berlin. No complete songs, however. This is more of a
documentary (without English subtitles), with the group making a few stops at
various places in London (including BBC for a live-in-the-studio gig that we
only get to see brief glimpses of). Gilles Peterson is interviewed and
introduces them at the concert. What excerpts there are of the concert shows the
group at their most inspired, and I enjoy the irony of the young crowd getting
really enthusiastic about what is in essence a (very energetic) acoustic jazz
performance. Ironic in that I doubt any major labels would ever imagine such a
response would be possible. Overall, not a bad DVD, although I'd probably have
been really disappointed if it were one of those $25-$35 Japan imports (luckily

upcoming "Coco d'Or 2" has a lot of the same producers on board as the first one

I've been mesmerized by music ever since i was able to hear, from
the breath that comes out of my nanny, to the edgy sound of
pantera.

Recently, i've had a chance to listen to Shiina Ringo, Le arc en
ciel, and japanese music men. And now, i've had the taste of musical
soundtracks from movies like Casshern, I loved the creativity of
such music.

I myself, love to create music on my own free time, and I was
wondering If I could get idea to broaden my music background. A
friend of mine who travels a lot to countries in asia, searching for
movies and music scene, and translate it to me in such a dramatic
way. Being exposed to such sounds, I've had the understanding of
every drama a note has to offer.. I'm not familiar with the japanese
language, though I try to learn and understand their meaning with
the help of friends to translate it for me. Think of it as a desire
for world music. not just of world beat but the entire endless, vast
array of music around the globe.

I'm just joining here to be able to learn from people here, music i
might not have gained access to, or haven't tapped onto.

Hello all,

I haven't posted a gig forecast in well over a year (though of course
the listings on the Liquidator site are still updated weekly), but
there is SO MUCH absolute loveliness on the horizon on all fronts that
it seemed a good time to revive the tradition.
I won't editorialize too much because these listings speak for
themselves, but I will say that I would be sobbing uncontrollably on
July 1 over the fact that I can't make it to London for Kyoto Jazz
Massive's full live band show @ the Jazz Café – if I weren't seeing my
five Monterrey-born gods (that'd be Kinky) for free WITH Sidestepper
here in Los Angeles. I'd be doing the same the week of July 24 over the
fact that I can't go see Joyce @ Ronnie Scott's and Pharoah Sanders @
the JC – were I not seeing Incognito with Jody Watley in Pasadena, Os
Mutantes (!!!!!) with Thievery Corp @ the Hollywood Bowl, and Nortec
Collective live with full banda musicians @ California Plaza all also
that week.
The rest of the London loveliness is your standard UK sublimity: Reel
People (whose "Second Guess" is on the short list for my best songs of
the year), Bah Samba, Jhelisa (whose A Primitive Guide to Being There
disc I'm loving at the moment as well), the ever-brilliant Da Lata, and
the JC's characteristically superb picnic with Zero 7, Koop, Nouvelle
Vague, Femi Kuti, and Snowboy + the Latin Section.
The best gig of the year in L.A. won't come until August 27 – with the
mightiest of the mighty, Gotan Project (whose live show will make you
cry, and dance till you break a hip; I've been watching the Revancha
Del Tango Live DVD in breathless anticipation... and for the loveliness
that is Victor Villena), Zero 7 (once again) with Jose Gonzalez, and
Herbert with full band – also @ the Bowl. The only drawback is that
that stunner of a lineup is the Sunday of Sunset Junction weekend
(where I'll be before and after getting inebriated – another welcome
tradition that makes me not hate Los Angeles for one weekend a year).
NYC is actually a bit quiet this summer, but watch for much beauty
from August 2-5... when the city plays host once again to the Latin
Alternative Music Conference. Most of the lineup hasn't been announced
yet, save for Venezuelan house gods Los Amigos Invisibles with Mexico's
Belanova in Prospect Park on August 4. (And as it happens Brazil's
mighty Lenine is also performing that week.) And though it's short
notice, I'd also recommend getting your ass over to Cielo tonight for
Louie Vega's birthday shindig with Louie and Kenny Dope along with
Frankie Feliciano and a live PA by Ultra Nate.
Lastly, on the Chicago front, watch for the COLOSSAL House Music
Conference on July 22-23 – with the goddess Jocelyn Brown (in an
ultra-rare US appearance), Barbara Tucker and Dajae and MC/theatrical
genius of our time Lady Bunny. Also watch for Argentinean genius
Gustavo Cerati (who'll also be (thankfully) hitting Los Angeles).
For full venue and date info, visit the gig listings on the Liquidator
site, and I'll also be re-posting this on my blog @
http://liquidatorgraphics.blogspot.com – with an archetypally beautiful
Kinky video as a bonus!

Cheers and best,

Brian Baltin

I'm going to introduce myself a bit. Now I'm working on the school
project to talk about the Japanese musician that I like through this
site so I hope someone talk to me.
I'm from Japan and 19 years old. My favorite Japanese musician is
Hitomi Yaida and HY. Does someone know about them?? If know, let's talk
to me please. I'm Japanese so I know most Japanese singers which means
I can talk about not only the one I like. Looking forward to get emails
from you.

Thank you™š
