ELLIE GREENWICH R.I.P.

Welcome to The Spectropop Group, a non-commercial organization of multimedia facilities established for the purpose of education and research. The discussion forum is the place for on-line enthusiasts of the Brill Building, Girl Groups, West Coast surf and harmony, European and Soft Pop and topics generally related to the legendary pop music of the pre-Woodstock 60s. Founded in 1997, the group brings together those interested in records made by producers such as Jeff Barry, Curt Boettcher, Bob Crewe, Leiber/Stoller, Jack Nitzsche, Van Dyke Parks, Jerry Ross, Phil Spector, Jimmy Webb and Brian Wilson. Although discussion occasionally wanders outside of the above parameters, members are requested to avoid topics related to rock music. Spectropop is a moderated group, and all the better for it. To ensure discussion remains on-topic, posts are routinely edited by our moderators, all of whom are unpaid volunteers. To keep their workload to a minimum, please take the time to read the full Spectropop Group Guidelines. You'll find hundreds of artist and discography pages on the Spectropop website.

Re: Sad news about Bobby Vee
I reported this sad news back in April on my 60s blog. http://mikesandland.blogspot.com It is indeed bad news. Bobby's music was always a part of my teenage

Re: Good Ginny Arnell Article!
... Very interesting, thank you! Did the German, Italian and French versions of "Dumb Head" (I presume that's what we're talking about) ever get released? Tom

Re: Sad news about Bobby Vee
... That is sad. He was known as "the last of the hic-cup singers," in the tradition of Buddy Holly. Due to his mostly soft pop output, I feel he is underrated
