I can assure you that I am indeed Roman's psycho-dad. i get a little hysterical from time to time. he played with spoon in 2001?? app. what else can i say to authenticate my identity
perhaps i shouldn't why not just email him he will tell you that i am perhaps a well-meaning but at times impetuous person and im afraid that i have a propensity for interfering in his life in ways he probably would rather i didnt. its like rodney talking about sam kinison in back to school "gee that guy really cares.... about what I have no idea"
I am personally frustrated that what I hear coming out of those orange guys isnt going over the top commercially. I don't really think this is paternal favoritism. I happen to be a truly "what's happening rocker and roller" (from....abnormal psychology today feb.30/2001) and i am certain that much of my hostility is born of my own professional frustration and for that I owe someone an apology.
as to the parallel with let it be/let it bleed i think that i disagree wif da conceptualization. to me both of these songs are talking about the writer's mind presumably and i have to concede that i have not indeed reviewed the words to your composition. i will further concede that your composition may very well indeed be a tribute. i guess I would like the whole rockin world to hear my mechanical mind which to me is an extraordinary work of art.
Roman is a mature diplomatic person who knows how to build professional relationships. obviously he didnt learn that from me.
so its time to let it be. the only reason i jumped on your chat line is because i didnt see a direct line into spoon central
roads to space travel thumbs spoon tob his middle name is jacob his birthday is 2-11-74 and he is one of the finest people and musicians I have had the pleasure to know

If you really are Roman's (asshole) father (which I
doubt), you need to get over yourself. Try asking your
son first whether HE'S upset about "My Mathematical
Mind." Considering that he has played bass for Spoon,
I imagine he isn't. Sounds to me like you don't know
the musical history of your own "son."
And I repeat: read up on the distinction between
"ripoff" and "homage." You obviously don't understand
the difference.
Oh, and the Oranges Band website includes live Spoon
tracks on the MP3s page. Clearly there's a kinship
between the two bands. "My Mathematical Mind" probably
IS derived from "My Mechanical Mind," but as a
tribute, not a ripoff.
Also, considering that Spoon started long before the
Oranges Band, and the two bands do sound a bit similar
at times, which band do you really think is more
likely to be ripping off the other?
Now please go away. You're an idiot.
