Stevie bein' laid back etc....   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #175 of 657 |

Yeah, Stevie was laid back. He also wasn't a snotty/elitist type
asshole. (Which all actually proves my point from earlier...I
was talkin' about the fact that he wouldn't have approved of
alot of these "So called" fans who think that they're better
than everyone else. Or this shit about havin' such a narrow scope
as far as what people are ALLOWED to talk about, etc. That's
what I meant when referring to "most" people in "most" SRV groups
& how HE was as a person.

I only know that my wife started THIS SRV group because it's
supposed to be a place where Stevie Ray fans can get together
& talk about any damn thing they want. (Related to Stevie, or
otherwise.) You see, everyone is linked because they're all his
fans & he effects all their lives to a certain degree. (AND THAT'S
WHY it's cool to talk about anything & everything IN their lives,
if they want.) And THAT'S the part that some folks forget...or
don't care to see.

Yeah, I know, that's some corny shit that I was just spoutin'...true
though.

And finally, (regarding my Ted Nugent group)...It's not the amount
of people in it that makes it so busy & wild. (Although there's
a FAIRLY decent amount) It's the type of people. Very cool. And
let me tell ya, they appreciate the fact that they can talk about
Ted, free speech, what they ate for dinner, what their cat coughed
up, politics, trading music, social issues, OTHER guitarists,
their personal lives, or any other friggin' thing they want.

I started the group at Listbot back in 1998 & moved it to YahooGroups
a couple of years ago....and virtually all of the ORIGINAL members
are still there. Along with new ones showin' up on a regular
basis, of course. Yeah, people come & people go. But most people
come & stay because they like the fact that it's free/totally
open & no one has this f**kin' "better than thou" attitude.

Okay, I'm climbin' down off of the ol' soap box now.

Live It Up Everyone,
