Stevie Ray:
Thanks Mark for your kind words. I know you were not talking about me
in particular, for sure.. I too, never liked the blues or any kind of
music except for music that woman gravitate to, Lionel Richie. Barbara
Streisand, etc Still great music, but not life-altering in any way.
I was channel surfing one night also, and came upon the Austin City
Limits show. I saw this man dressed in black playing that guitar, and I
was struck like lightning, by the very sight of him. I sat and was
transfixed by what I saw there on my tv. At the end, when he go ready
to play "Riviera Paradise" he said- " to all the people who are still
suffering in any way" And that for sure, was me. I cried for the
first time in recent memory.
That song remains my very favorite to this day. And I still cry, every
time I hear it.
Needless to say, I searched everywhere I could, on this stranger
whose
name was not even familiar to me. I have taken this journey alone and my
life has never been the same in so many ways.
I am a true disciple of Stevie Ray Vaughan and his music, but especially
the MAN himself.
So, thats just the tip of my story, but suffice to say, I am, a True,
Blue, fan of our little Stevie Ray. And will remain one, till the end of
my days.
Peace to all here on the list and together, we will never let his
memory or his music die.
