Greetings!
I just added "For All We Know" to the front page of this group. It was featured
in the movie "Lovers and Other Strangers" and was made into a mega hit by the
Carpenters.
Enjoy!

Now, on Thursday of this week, May 8th, she is having her left knee replaced.

I'll be the guy dressed in black Lederhosen and wearing a green hat. If you're
within commuting distance, come on out for some food and fellowship. I'd love to
meet there any member of this group!

Hey Gang!
Have you ever wanted to find a MIDI file to a particular song but didn't know
where to look? Well, one good source is the MIDI Search Engine at

P.S. My niece came through her surgery with flying colors and should be home in
a few days. Thank you all for your prayers and concern!
Hello All!
My niece, Robin, is scheduled to undergo stomach surgery tomorrow, March 6th, in
an effort to lose weight. It is a painful procedure and not without some risk.
Please be so kind as to remember her in your prayers.
Thanks and God bless you!
With best wishes,

Dear Dudley,
Thanks so much for including the delightfully boyant "Wiener Blut" in Stage
and Screen Music!
I love this rendition.
The introduction is also slightly different from the one I usually hear.
You can visualize that you are waltzing to this heavenly music--and also
riding the horse on the merry-go-round while it is playing..........
Cheers,
Marti :-)

Hello All!
I currently manage twelve webrings on subjects as diverse as steamboats and
Christianity, marching bands and multiple sclerosis, German music and Edgar
Cayce. You can see them listed at
http://members.tripod.com/~dudley_delany/index-154.html
This is an invitation to visit any ring that corresponds to your interests and,
if you have a website appropriate to the subject matter, I encourage you to
submit it for membership.
With best wishes,
Dudley Delany
P.S. My recent surgery went successfully and, except for still experiencing a
certain amount of pain, I am doing well. Thank you all very much for your
prayers, concern, and well-wishes!
Hi All!
Thanks to your prayers and the grace of God, my sister is doing very well and is
scheduled for release from the hospital in just a few days.
However, now it is I who am to undergo the knife. I am scheduled for surgery on
Thursday, January 16th, to repair a double hernia. Although a former
chiropractor, massage therapist, and registered nurse, I am really somewhat of a
coward when it comes to matters like this--especially when involves cutting
"down there"--and I would greatly appreciate your prayers on my behalf.
Thanking you all in advance, and wishing you all a healthful and happy 2003, I
remain,
Very sincerely yours,
Dudley Delany

Hi All!
The surgery to replace my sister Angie's badly arthritic knee went successfully
and she is now recuperating. Apart from experiencing a great deal of pain and
not being able to sleep, she seems to be doing alright. She will spend the next
few days in the hospital and then be sent for two weeks to a rehabilitation
facility.
Please be so kind as to continue to pray for Angie that she might undergo a
complete and speedy recovery.
Thank you again so very much for remembering Angie in prayer!
With best wishes for a joyous Christmas and a blessed New Year,

Hi All!
Here's a little something for Christmas: one woman's inspiring account of how,
as a little girl, she learned about Santa Claus, the Christmas spirit, and, many
years later, experienced the reality of Jesus:

There is a very interesting bio on A & E right now--on the von Trapp family.
I only just found out about it--and in most of the country, the program is
over. :-(
There are some facts I didn't know about them: Unlike in "The Sound of
Music", Maria, the young student nun, came into their lives in 1926--not
during the "last golden days of the thirties."
Georg van Trapp was a retired Navy Captain, granted the title "Baron" at the
end of World War I. He had married a very wealthy woman and was subsequently
widowed with 7 children.
As an aristocrat, he disliked work, but then the bank failed in 1930, and the
van Trapp fortune was suddenly gone.
But in 1926, Maria had came into his life, and the two were married. Their
courtship sounded a lot like their story in"The Sound of Music"--except that
at first, Maria did not love Georg but did love the children. She, however,
grew to love him.
There were opposites in temperament: she---passionate and temperamental, he
quiet and unassuming--not like in the movie.
The van Trapp family now had to make a living.
What to do?
Maria had the idea of renting out rooms in their vast mansion to students and
priests--and the boarders became their unwilling audience when the family
sang together.
One of the priests had the idea of training them to be professional singers:
a whole choir in one family!
The new choir was an immediate success, but when Hitler annexed Austria to
Germany, the von Trapps opposed him and immigrated, together with the Priest
to Vermont, USA.
The famous choir flourished during the 40s (Georg died in 1947), and
eventually, the choir broke up as family member left to marry and start their
own families and careers.
Thereupon, the family turned their lodge in Vermont into a commercial ski
lodge.
Maria, not a good business woman, sold away the rights to her story (She had
written an autobiography) for $9,000. Therefore, she and the family made no
money frm the amazing success of the Rodgers and Hammerstein broadway musical
and the movie, "The Sound of Music".
Well the bio is still underway--so I'm going back into the family room and
catch the rest of it.
Cheers,
Marti :-)

Dear Ones,
Thank you so very much for holding my sister Angie in prayer regarding her knee
replacement surgery, which, I am informed, has been postponed until Monday,
December 23rd.
If you would be so kind, do continue to uphold her in prayer until this whole
situation is resolved.
Thank you again for your kindness!
With best wishes for a joyous Christmas season and a bright and blessed New
Year, I remain,
Very sincerely,
Dudley Delany

Dear Hearts,
Please be so kind as to pray for my sister, Angeline Snaric, who is scheduled
for knee replacement surgery this Wednesday, December 11th. Because she is
grossly overweight and has a heart problem, it is a high risk procedure.
Thanks ever so much, and have a great day!
With best wishes for a joyous Christmas season and a blessed New Year,
Dudley Delany
P.S.
Actually, it's hard to say one has one very favorite movie: I don't, really.
There are actually a number of them......
"Amadeus" really stands out though.
Cheers,
Marti :-)

Thanks very much, Peggy!
And thanks, so much, Dudley, for the MIDI search engine URL!
I clicked onto "The Great Escape" on the page, but it's not coming through
now.
I'll try it again later. :-)
I also noticed "Over The Rainbow" on this page--and music from "Amadeus"--my
favorite movie of all time. :-)
Peggy, you know, "The Wizard of Oz" will be telecast this Friday evening (at
8 p.m., I think) on TNT.
"Amadeus" is not completely historically accurate regarding Mozart's life, of
course, but the skeleton of the story at least rings true--and Mozart's
magnificant music is highlighted, and plus--his music wins new fans. :-)
Yours sincerely,
Marti :-)

Hi Marti!
Yes, I saw the movie many years ago. To find the theme music, visit this MI=
DI search engine at
http://www.musicrobot.com
and do a search on "Great Escape." You will come up with a number of files.=
With best wishes,
Dudley
Hi Dudley,
Are you familiar with the movie "The Great Escape" (1963), directed by
Preston Sturges--one of the greatest ensemble casts of all time, in my
opinion.

The theme music is very unique, you know.
It starts with the first titles on the screen--and it sums up the boyant,
never-give-up attitude of yank Steve Mc Queen.
The movie tells the story of British and American POWs in a German prisoner
of war camp during World War II and their efforts to escape.
It is based on a true story.
This music is great--and it is only associated with this movie.
It was written for the movie.
Is there any way a midi can be found for it?
I'd love to hear the music again.
I hope that you guys would too!
Sincerely,
Marti :-)
