STAR'S END Update 02.06.05   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #154 of 407 |

The purpose of non-commercial radio is to present music and
programming that is worthwhile based, not on marketability or
popularity, but on artistic content and its ability to somehow
enhance the life of the listener. For WXPN and STAR'S END, the
audience is seen as a community and not as a market segment
or a group of consumers. STAR'S END is true to this form as the
show presents music from a diverse range of genres and eras,
solely for the enrichment of the listener. Public broadcasting
depends on listener support. Please tune in to STAR'S END this
weekend and help out with the Winter Fundraiser. Call in and
pledge your financial support.

Premiums and thank-you gifts available for those pledging to
STAR'S END at specific levels include a limited number of CDs
by: Janet Robbins, Dwight Ashley, The Glimmer Room, a DVD by
Jeff Pearce + Michael DuBois and also a limited number of pairs
of tickets to a private "Producers Circle" STAR'S END
spacemusic concert to be held in the new performance space at
WXPN studios in Philadelphia. Please tune in for details and
thanks very much for your support!

This week's broadcast of STAR'S END will focus on the local
Philadelphia innovative music scene and include rare live and
original tracks by artists including Redshift, Rudy Adrian, Giles
Reeves, Free System Projekt, The Ministry of Inside Things and
others. Plus an insightful live in-studio interview with Terry Furber
of local spacemusic duo Orbital Decay.

STAR'S END broadcasts every Saturday night/Sunday morning

and live on the web...
