STAR'S END Update 08.13.06   Message List

What with the many recent developments in new formats with
which to listen to music, it feels somewhat odd that there are so
many vinyl albums that remain out of print. Even with the advent
of the Compact Disc and the multitude of independent releases
and re-issues that followed, and more recently the iPod and the
vast library of music available on the internet, there is still quite a
bit of great spacemusic that has never been re-issued on
Compact Disc or made available as an MP3 download. Classic
releases by obscure artists like The Trans-Millenia Consort,
Darren Kearns, Michael Bundt, Bernard Szajner and many others
may never be discovered by the digital generation. In spite of
their worldwide reputation, the albums "Body Love 2" by Klaus
Schulze and "Wavelength" by Tangerine Dream are presently
unavailable of CD. This weekend STAR'S END examines these
lost volumes and others as an entire program of music drawn
from the substantial LP collection of host Chuck van Zyl is
presented.

Tune in to STAR'S END this weekend for an entire program of
recordings from the vinyl archives.
